I arrived at 11 PM, but the host was still very friendly, even though I probably woke him up. My room was clean and had insect screens all around. The air conditioning worked well. The bed was actually very good. It had a large TV, smart lighting with a remote control, very hot water for the walk-in shower, and two complimentary bottles of water every day.
The breakfast was Thai cuisine – soups, rice, and chicken. As a European, you just have to be open to it. Alternatively, you could also get a piece of cake and a coffee.
Overall, it was a straightforward stay with great value for money, on par with hostel prices.
What wasn't ideal:
The guesthouse is a bit out of the way. Although it's only 200m from Bang Khae station, it's quickly 20 stops or up to 45 minutes to get to the city center.
It's not entirely quiet outside at night.
I would have liked the trash can to be emptied once during my four-day stay. I'm not that demanding about the rest. The grille of the ceiling fan could have used a cleaning.
But honestly...
We are in Thailand, not a 4-star hotel. For a good 70 Euros for 4 days and up to two people per room, this guesthouse is a clear recommendation.

Guest UserRed Door is a beautiful, quiet oasis and is now our go to when we pass through Bangkok. The seating area around the Banyan tree is lovely and the pool is delightful, cool and refreshing after slogging through the heat and humidity. Rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Filtered water and ice are available by the pool.

Supoj T.,198XsI always stay here. The rooms are large, the TV is big, it's clean, and the AC is cold. Standard amenities are all provided (drinking water, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, tissue).

Tom & KungFor a budget hotel it's clean, fairly comfortable and good value. We used a great little food court only 100M away but there's a wide variety of places to eat close by.
The breakfast was pretty basic but good coffee, toast and rice soup got us ready for our day.
We would certainly stay again.

I felt the front desk was professional. They marketed halloween goodies. I did not like that they did not have a door sign. It could be that they forgot one in the room. Clean I gave a 4 because the bathroom looked old but they do clean. I believe they might be short staff. Could be wrong. The morning swim, maybe the water not kept well at 8am but don’t get me wrong, I paid dirt cheap for my stay. To get a pool for that price wow but I do feel I should have something to park my bag in. Good sizeable safe in the room and maybe the lack of a table beside the bed was because the room I paid was low. You do see it in their photos. They have plenty of roof top to at least double the current gym size. There is potential and people with family or preferably to be in an area quiet can consider this place. There is a mall one station south and north to fill your needs. Nice entrance to the hotel. Maybe a better paint job in my room.

Rooms are clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Close to BTS. The only problem I had during the whole stay was unstable and quite slow wi-fi connection. Keep that in mind if you have to work remotely.
