【Urban Landmark Stay: In the Heart of Changsha’s Wuyi Square】
TAI HOTEL Changsha Wuyi Square IFS International Finance Center is set in one of the city’s most iconic locations, right in the vibrant core of Jiefang West Road and the Wuyi Square commercial district. Facing Changsha IFS, the hotel places guests close to Wuyi Square, Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street, Huangxing Square, Pozi Street, Taiping Old Street, Huogongdian, IFS Street, ID Mall and other signature Changsha landmarks. From here, it is easy to connect to Orange Isle, Yuelu Mountain, Dufu Pavilion and the Xiangjiang Riverfront, making it an ideal base for both sightseeing and city exploration.
The hotel embraces a youthful, relaxed and design-led atmosphere, echoing Changsha’s unique mix of local flavor, urban energy and nightlife culture. Public areas are crafted for social moments, casual relaxation and photo-friendly stays, while guest rooms offer a clean modern aesthetic with smart facilities, comfortable bedding and practical layouts, creating a quiet retreat in the middle of the city’s busiest district.
Step outside and you are immediately surrounded by Changsha’s most popular food, shopping and entertainment scene: Cha Yan Yue Se, local Hunan restaurants, Changsha rice noodles, late-night snack streets, trendy malls and iconic street-food spots are all within easy reach. Spend the day shopping around IFS and Huangxing Road, enjoy an evening walk along the Xiangjiang River, then return to Jiefang West Road to experience Changsha’s famous nightlife.
Staying at TAI HOTEL is more than choosing a hotel in downtown Changsha. It is choosing to live inside the city’s most recognizable travel circle, where Wuyi Square, IFS, Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street and Pozi Street meet.
"This hotel has a charming, vintage feel. It's not huge, but it's well-equipped and conveniently located very close to the pedestrian street.
They offer a laundry room, a gym, a complimentary afternoon tea, and a delicious, plentiful breakfast daily. After 4 PM, they even provide a service to help guests transport their luggage to the airport or high-speed train station.
The front desk staff are friendly and even assist with washing and drying clothes.
There are two things I was unhappy with. Firstly, the hotel entrance isn't very prominent and was a bit hard to find. It's located down an alley, so taxis have to drop you off on the main road across the street.
Secondly, people were smoking by the stairwell. There shouldn't be a trash can placed at the stairwell next to the rooms, as guests just stand there to smoke. For someone who recently had heart surgery, having cigarette smoke drift into the room every night is genuinely harmful to health.
Although there's a sign on the sixth floor indicating that guests can go to the balcony outside the lobby to smoke, I don't think guests will bother going to the lobby balcony when there's a trash can right by the stairwell near their rooms for cigarette butts.
If they could slightly improve the smoking issue and clearly explain the taxi pick-up location, this hotel would still offer excellent value for money."
