IIcylingSomerset Pattaya Review **Location & Transportation** The hotel is located on Pattaya Second Road, directly opposite Central Festival shopping mall and about 500 meters from the beach. You can easily access the beach by cutting through the mall, which is a big plus as it avoids the hot, busy, and somewhat unsafe side streets filled with motorcycles and vehicles. However, the road in front of the hotel often gets congested after 3 PM. Taxis are usually waiting outside, but I didn't inquire about fares as I dislike bargaining. I used Grab for rides; for example, a trip to Jomtien Floating Market cost around 35 RMB. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service from 12 PM to 8 PM, departing every two hours on the dot. The route goes from Second Road, past Terminal 21, then to Beach Road, and back to the hotel. The staff are thoughtful and will ask about your planned return time to help with arrangements. Advance registration is required, and seats are limited, so it's first-come, first-served. **Room Experience** I stayed in the cheapest standard room, which matched the official photos. A note of caution: standard rooms do not come with a washing machine or induction hob; not all room types have these facilities. Standard rooms are located on floors 3-11; I was on the 4th floor with no view from the window. Guests prioritizing a view should consider the Deluxe Seaview room types and above. The infinity pool on the rooftop is a major highlight of the hotel. Watching the sunset from here in the evening is spectacular; the panoramic views make the pool water seem to merge with the distant sea and sky. It's a truly beautiful scene that adds a lot of romance and relaxation to the stay – I highly recommend experiencing it. The soundproofing is excellent; with the windows closed, you can barely hear the roar of motorcycles outside, which is quite rare in a bustling environment like Pattaya. The hot water in the shower comes on quickly and is initially very hot, but it tends to cool down after about five minutes. This might be a downside for those who enjoy long, scalding hot showers. However, given Thailand's hot climate and frequent showering, it's generally acceptable for daily use. The mattress is medium-firm and very comfortable. **Service** The staff are friendly, always smiling, and pleasant to interact with. Service was faultless. **Breakfast** The breakfast selection isn't extensive but meets basic needs. If you have high expectations for breakfast quality, this hotel might not be the best fit. Compared to other hotels in Pattaya (like Grande Centre, Centre Point Space, The Mirage, Holiday Inn, Amari, etc.), Somerset's breakfast indeed offers the fewest choices. However, considering the nightly rate of around 600 RMB, it still offers excellent value for money. **Summary** If you can book this hotel for around 600 RMB, its location, transportation convenience, and room comfort stand out, making it an excellent value-for-money option overall. For travelers who prioritize practicality and price, it's a very worthwhile choice.

Llydi****The room was spacious and clean, with a balcony that had a drying rack. The breakfast was plentiful, with hot dishes that varied slightly each day. It's very close to Jomtien Beach and not far from the Jomtien Beach Night Market. There's a swimming pool, and you can watch the sunset from there in the evening. There's also a kids' splash area by the pool. The service was excellent. When we arrived, there were steps leading into the hotel, and a staff member helped us with our luggage and brought it up to our room. A staff member also assisted with our luggage when we checked out. The hotel is less than 1 kilometer from Jomtien Bus Station, where you can catch a direct bus to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. The fare is 143 Thai Baht, and the journey takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes, entirely via highway.

Hhk379723We are in a premium room and has a phenomenal sea view. The room is recently renovated and thus is clear and modern. However, the common areas in the hotel are aged and would require a makeover. The pool is great and makes the hotel a very good family choice, but also because of the same, the hotel tends to be quite noisy and some guests are too focused on their kids, ignoring the normal manner they should pay to other guests. Food is average and would suggest to dine outside. There are plenty of choices.

GGuest UserI'm a repeat guest at this hotel and I liked it so much I returned! The rooms are still in new condition spacious and clean, all with balconies. The staff are polite, friendly and efficient. The location is great, not far from cafes, restaurants, bars and night markets, plus the beach is just 150 or 200 meters down the road. The rooms are quiet too, & well blacked out at night. The buffet breakfast is also plentiful and varied. No complaints from me. I would stay here again.

TTravelholic เหนื่อยก้อไปเที่ยวBeautiful and Luxurious Stay with Spacious Rooms and Full Facilities – Stayed in the Zen Wing **Good:** -The room was spacious with cool air-conditioning, a very comfortable bed, and a balcony. I really liked it! -The swimming pool looked beautiful and very inviting, though it was raining during our stay. -Breakfast had a good variety. However, it was quite crowded and seating was almost not enough. Some dishes were not refilled once finished, and the toaster was out of order. **Bad:** -The walls were very thin. After check-in, we stayed in the room due to the rain and tried to rest, but there was loud noise from the next room — dragging furniture and moving things — especially disturbing as it was right behind the headboard. Around 10 PM, I was startled awake by the noise. -The bathroom floor was extremely slippery. The next morning, after breakfast, I ended up slipping and falling in the bathroom. -The walls, wallpaper, and floor edges had visible stains and marks. I understand some stains may be difficult to clean, and while not ideal, it was somewhat acceptable.

AAnonymous UserI thought I would give this hotel a try, I am a regular visitor to Jomtien. I checked in and was given my room number and told to take the lift around the corner. I went to the lift unaccompanied by staff, the receptionist then came around the corner and told me I was waiting at the wrong lift, nhe kindly showed me to the correct lift. Now I had been in town all afternoon and was a little tired ,so when I got in the lift I realized he hadn't told me the floor number so I tried pressing floor one. Lift didn't move. Then door opened at ground floor. Door closed and we went tfloor 7 , door opened,no one there , I pressed 1 again and was taken to ground floor again, Door closed lift went to 7th floor, A person got in this time and told me that floor one is actually the ground floor, I got out at G floor and went to reception to be told the second digit on my key card is actually my floor number, silly me ,I should know that,!! Back to the lift to 4th floor, opened the room door and went in . The room stunk of a mixture of body odour and cigarette smoke. I thought to myself , How am I going to stay in this room? As I opened the window to let in some desperately needed fresh air, I said to myself , what am I doing , there is no way I can stay here, I headed back to reception to tell the guy on the desk I wanted to change rooms as that particular room had an obnoxious smell. A supervisor came out and asked what the problem was, after explaining she accompaniment back to the room armed with an air freshener. She walked into the room and agreed it did smell and said,” No problem sir I will turn on the air con and spray some air freshener !! I told her she could spray what she liked , there was no way I was staying in that room. She then offered me an upgrade to a better room , which I initially accepted, until she then said that I would have to pay another 500 bhat a night for the privilege!! I told her she could keep her room and her hotel and that I was leaving!! She then said would I like to see the room next door, same price bracket, Now the room next door was not as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as the smelly room but it was at least clean and pleasant,. I took the room and stayed the 2 nights I had booked. The following morning I asked if they had an iron and ironing board. No they do not but I was told they did laundry 🧺. Ah I said great could you press some shirts? No came the reply we only wash and dry! Now for a little more about the room, I had to go hunting for light switches.and the wifi code. It's on the router silly me, the two main light switches were hidden behind the bedside table ,which I had to pull out 12 inches to access. O the safe did not work, I had to get a key from reception to use it. Now the good bits. The room I occupied was lovely and clean and it was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. The staff were lovely and pleasant, but poorly trained in customer service, don't blame the staff but the management perhaps? The hotel offers a late checkout at a slight cost of 100 bhat an hour. On the evening of the first night I lay on the bed and giggled to myself at the earlier events. I thought you couldn't write this but then they did. Remember John Cheese in Faulty Towers? Would I stay there again, YES definitely, . This is not a bad review or a negative review. It is an honest review, but as I have said staff were lovely and the room Clean and well serviced. But perhaps the manager should make the whole hotel smoke free and offer upgrades when rooms are sitting empty to attract repeat custom.

AAnonymous UserThe location is excellent, with a short walk to Jomtien Beach. The advantage of the room I chose was its clear sea view and its room size, which was neither too small nor too large. However, there were some minor drawbacks: there was no shower gel or shampoo provided, and the scale was dusty.

GGuest UserOn the second day, I slept in until noon. Too lazy to switch hotels, I just extended my stay. However, the room wasn't cleaned that night. Heads up: if you extend your stay, make sure to get your room cleaned before 5 PM! The air conditioner broke down several times, and I had to drag a chair over to restart it myself. Cleanliness was acceptable. As for the environment, please refer to my previous review; the room and balcony show signs of age, but at least the bed, wardrobe, and table are new. They provide a bar of soap, which is handy for a quick wash of light summer clothes you've worn all day, then hanging them to dry on the balcony! Front desk service was mediocre. I lost 1000 Thai Baht. When I took money out of my pocket to pay the deposit, I must have fumbled putting it back and it probably fell on the ground! Most hotels in Bangkok don't even require a deposit, and this extra step just creates more opportunities for problems. I also lost a pair of slippers. I only realized it when I got to my next hotel. I was too lazy to come back and ask on the second day, but when I did on the third day, they said they couldn't find them. I didn't even notice the swimming pool initially. It's located outdoors in the backyard. I only found out about it and went to take pictures when I came back to ask about the slippers. The young man near the side door by the front desk was very helpful. Otherwise... I wouldn't even want to give this rating!
