Great
RRosario Davide D’AmicoThe hotel is located in a fantastic position. It has direct access to the beach promenade walk, very close to the night market (2 minutes walk), and very close to many other POI in the town. The service is good, the guys at the reception are great, they’re kind and very happy to help for everything. Very good gem in town

GGuest UserThe room was quite clean, and the shower had great water pressure, which made for a very comfortable shower experience. The sofa in the room, paired with a small table, was perfect for reading or having tea, very relaxing. The soundproofing could be better, but overall, it was quite good, and the facilities were very new.

Ssuper fishWe stayed for four nights over the Easter holiday in a panorama sea view room in the new tower. First of all, the location is excellent. The pool area has a sandy beach, and compared to the Hilton next door, the water was much clearer and very pleasant. The view is absolutely beautiful. However, when the tide goes out, it turns into what feels like a “panoramic mudflat view,” so I would recommend carefully considering the timing of your stay. On the other hand, there were several issues with the room. There is no balcony, and the windows cannot be opened. There were mosquitoes in the room, and I was bitten multiple times, which caused itching and swelling. The insect repellent device in the hallway was empty, which made me question the quality of housekeeping management. When I spoke to a female staff member at reception, I was told that only body spray repellent was available, and no further assistance was offered, so I had to purchase and install my own insect repellent. In addition, there was a sewage-like smell coming from the bathroom. The mirror and sink were not properly cleaned and appeared dirty. The room and hallway also had a moldy smell, and due to the humidity, the bed linens felt damp. The duvet was thin and not very comfortable. As I am sensitive to smells, these issues made me feel nauseous and unwell. Later, my husband spoke to a male staff member at reception. Although the hotel was fully booked and we were unable to change rooms, he responded with sincerity, apologized thoroughly, and instructed housekeeping to carry out a deep cleaning. When we returned from going out, the bathroom had been properly cleaned and the sewage smell was gone. The moldy smell in the room did not completely disappear, but it had been masked with deodorizer, and we were able to sleep well that night. However, the same issues returned the following day. As it was the Easter holiday and other hotels were fully booked, we had no choice but to stay until the end of our reservation. Afterward, I checked reviews and found many similar complaints about the moldy smell, which made me regret not researching more thoroughly beforehand. I had assumed that as a five-star hotel, it would be fine. Overall, the reception staff were kind, friendly, and professional. In particular, the male staff member who assisted us was excellent. On the other hand, I felt that the quality of housekeeping needs improvement. In my opinion, these issues are largely due to a design flaw—specifically, the building was designed with aesthetics prioritized over functionality by the construction company and architect, resulting in rooms where windows cannot be opened despite the humid tropical climate. The older tower, which has balconies and windows that can be opened, may not have the same problems. I would not recommend this hotel to those who are sensitive to smells, but for those who are not, it can still be a wonderful place to stay given its location and facilities.

GGuest UserThe room itself was generally acceptable, and the balcony view was fantastic. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We found a thumb-sized blood stain on the bedsheet that hadn't been cleaned. We reported it to the front desk, and they assured us it would be handled and that a manager would contact us directly. But nothing ever came of it. We had to call housekeeping again to have someone come and change the sheets. There was never an explanation or an apology, which made it feel like this kind of thing is commonplace and not worth making a fuss over. But from a guest's perspective, this is not a minor issue; it was extremely unpleasant both psychologically and experientially. Housekeeping also consistently missed things; we had to call for everything from towels to toilet paper! This 'five-star' service was incredibly disappointing. To be fair, we are loyal Pullman customers globally, but it seems only the Pullman Cairns has these shortcomings.

JJ小米I accidentally booked this hotel and found out it was non-cancellable when I tried to cancel, so I had no choice but to stay. Overall, it was okay; the room was a bit small but quite tidy and clean. The front desk staff were very friendly. The restaurant was under renovation during our stay, so we were given vouchers to have breakfast at the hotel across the street. Clearly, for an extra AUD$80 a day, we could have stayed somewhere much better. The hotel hallways had no air conditioning and were very stuffy and hot. However, there was a free coffee machine downstairs with complimentary coffee. The swimming pool looked dirty though, and no one was using it. The location is a bit far from the Reef Terminal, about a 17-minute walk.

SSarah Kay DenmanGreat pool, very clean , excellent breakfast , yummy cocktails , dinner was amazing.  Only one thing bad was the pool sun lounges, the are very uncomfortable I had to sit in a bean bag.  Just to add gluten free eating for coeliacs was great seperate toaster for breaky and freshly cooked eggs and bacon on request. Very happy !!

TTaiyizhenrenStaying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns for 3 nights across two rooms, I genuinely feel it offers exceptional value for money! Upon arrival at the front desk for check-in, we were immediately greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies. Having just gotten off the plane and feeling a bit hungry, it was such a welcoming touch. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and thoughtfully arranged for our rooms to be on the same floor, which was incredibly convenient for traveling with elderly parents and children. The rooms themselves were clean and tidy, with good views and scenery. Breakfast was fresh with a wide variety of choices, and the service staff were all very friendly. Downstairs, there's a restaurant and a ping-pong table, which our kids absolutely loved playing with. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try the swimming pool. Its location is another huge plus: Right across the street is the aquarium, and it's just a 5-minute walk to the beach. Walking to the marina for boat trips takes about 10–15 minutes, making it convenient to get everywhere. Overall, the experience was fantastic. For family travelers, this is absolutely the perfect choice!

GGuest UserWe had a lovely stay here, close to all the shops and restaurants. All the staff were friendly and very accommodating as we arrived after reception hours and provided us with a way to check in after hours. We stayed for two nights and all aspects were great. Great value for money . :))

AAnonymous UserHave to say the best thing for this hotel is its room size, Huge! And water pressure is good. But pain point is really clear, the WIFI is not working in my room (bad signal), I can only sit in lounge/bar area at the ground floor to get WiFi.
