Amazing
JJinwanbidalaohuExceeded expectations! This is by far one of the best value-for-money hotels in Manila. The overall cleanliness was superb, facilities were excellent, and the decor was uniquely stylish and elegant—much better than what you'd find in the BGC area!

GGuest UserThe New World Makati Hotel boasts an excellent location in the heart of the central business district, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and shopping. The rooms are spacious and spotless, with comfortable bedding and comprehensive amenities. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer expansive views. The hotel's pool and fitness areas are elegantly designed, and the breakfast spread is diverse and delicious. The staff are attentive, thoughtful, and respond promptly. Overall, the hotel has a sophisticated and grand ambiance, suitable for both business travelers and leisure guests. My stay was absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend it.

Kkarei88The overall ambiance is very upscale, and the hotel's design and atmosphere really give off a resort vibe.
However, the service details were just average. The lobby also doubles as the afternoon tea area, and there were barely enough seats to briefly rest before checking in, making the whole area feel quite noisy. Upon arrival, no staff proactively offered to help with luggage.
During check-in, my room wasn't ready, but the hotel didn't immediately explain why. Instead, they used vague statements to delay, telling me to wait for the room number to be notified via email. After I repeatedly pressed for an answer, I was finally told the room was still being cleaned, which was not a great experience.
For breakfast service, the coconut juice I ordered took a long time to arrive and tasted mediocre.
Overall, the facilities and environment are excellent, but there's room for improvement in service details and communication transparency.

IiYooootFor a 5 star hotel, the service is very annoying. They would call me randomly to ask for feedback a few hours after I checked in. They would knock on my door early in the morning while I'm still sleeping to do a ”room check”... On the day of my check out, I had a knock on the door a bit past 9am, I ignored it as I was still in bed but they kept ringing the bell. I finally got up and the lady asked ”is there anything I can help with?”. Yes leave me alone. I went back to bed to rest and then got a phone call soon after as a reminder that check out is at 12pm. It's not even 10am yet and your staff already interrupted my sleep twice. Trying to get the room clean involves multiple phone calls. Once I left it to see how long it would take but at 6pm, I had to call since they never came during the day. Another time they cleaned, the cleaners said they ran out of towels so there would be someone who would deliver soon. I forgot about it until we went to have a shower and then it took almost an hour for the towels to arrive so we had to wait to use the bathroom as they took away the dirty towels so we didn't have anything to dry ourselves. Don't order room service. The food is very bad. I actually gagged on a drink they prepared. The TV is very old, they are still using cable technology. WiFi is patchy. Trying to get up and down the lift is a nightmare if you come at the wrong time as the line gets backed up all the way out into the street. My girlfriend was stopped by over eager security staff when she was trying to leave to buy some snacks as the room service meals were so bad even tho she had a room key and they would not let her up to the lobby on the 6th floor without me. Instead, I had to go down and pick her up from the ground floor where she was sitting in the corner like she was in trouble.

GGuest UserThis is a classic hotel, well located, full service (though a little slow at times) and it was very busy when we were there at Chinese New Year. The staff are friendly and helpful. This room was small but comfortable. Breakfast is fabulous but be careful of the queues (as well as when checking in and out). The gym is well stocked and the pool area is pleasant although the pool is a little small. The food is good all round. It is conveniently located next to the giant malls of Makati where there is plenty to eat and shop! I enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The lobby is lovely.

KKrizzia AngeliPet policy is inconsistent. Upon arrival we were asked for a copy of the vaxx card of our pet. This information must be clearly stated on the hotel policies to avoid delay of check in. Room was clean and big. Very affordable and great location. Only cons: thin walls (you can hear all the people passing by especially when your room is close tot he swimming pool area) causing lack of sleep. It was a great stay overall. Chewie-approved!
AAnonymous UserI don’t usually leave negative reviews but this place was a slight disappoint more than a pleasant surprise… I’ll start with the pros; staff are super great, attentive and extremely friendly, I have zero faults for them. The location is pretty good if you want to be in the middle of the mayhem, and the included sauna and onsen was a nice touch. Room was generally very clean and bed was comfy , standard hotel quality. The cons… this feels like the most dated Oakwood I’ve stayed in, and for the price per night you can get a really decent Airbnb apartment instead. The balcony door doesn’t seal properly so you can still hear the madness of the city even on the 20th floor, the air con is old and battered and sounds like a chainsaw for a few minutes every time it kicks into action. The suite comes with a bath , yet the water doesn’t get hot enough to actually have one. The bath/shower design itself is the most ridiculous design - every time you shower the water pools around the edge of the bath with nowhere to drain , and then when you open the shower door to get out all that pooled water splashes out and fills the bathroom floor… really stupid design and it meant my bathroom was just a flooded mess the whole stay. Overall, in my mind it wasn’t worth the money- I’ve stayed in much better, modern and more established Airbnbs in the city but wanted to give premium hotels a try… will stick to Airbnbs !
GGuest UserThe location is very strategic for mall goers and night out. One concern though is the location tagged in the grab is not accurate. Doon napunta sa pldt. Also, you have to call the doorman before leaving the room since the up/down button of the lift is disabled.

RRobS.I have travelled a fair bit and feel that I have a good handle how things are. This hotel has Best Western as part of the name so I expected a certain level. I could see that the hotel was probably a higher end hotel, the lobby showed high end finishes and this was probably a 200+ room hotel when built. It has suffered a fair bit of age related issues and the room finishes are quite tired. I noticed on floor 9, 3 rooms together had obviously been flooded and not repaired. The smell of damaged materials was quite strong (lower parts of the doors were heavily water damaged and there were towels damming the thresholds).
My room on a different floor was fine but I did have multiple legged friends in my room and the sheets were grey from multiple washings and lastly, the area is the seamy side of Makati (Manila) and is not the best.
Okay, that is the list of cons, now for the pros, price was very reasonable, the staff was good in any interactions I had and if you want the seamy side, the location....is excellent. There are lots of bars nearby and multiple actually quite good restaurants including directly across the street, The Filling Station, a throwback to the 1950s us type Diner. Lots of fun and the food is quite good.
I will mention that the gym is quite good and I did use it. The gym Airton has apparently had the refrigerant leaked off so it doesn't work. I was told a lot of the rooms have been sold as condos so I found the hotel to be quiet, good amenities for a good price but it is tired.
Overall I'm going to rate this a high three star hotel because you kind of get something a little bit more for quite a reasonable price so it is a bargain and is not the slum that other cheap hotels often are. Yes, I would definitely stay again.
