GGuest UserOK for one night. The hotel is above the pub, which is also very busy in the afternoon. There is also live music there on Sundays until around 9 p.m. Everything is perfectly fine, unless you have room 10 next to the washing machine/dryer and sleep next to the ventilation. Even though drying and washing is not allowed after 9 p.m., it was very annoying. The hotel rooms face the back, so in the morning you also have the noise from the loading area of the supermarket. On the positive side, the room was in a modern condition and the staff were all very nice. The beach is a ten-minute walk away.

VVicki HughesOverall a good 3 night stay at the Hermitage. Large spacious room, fairly comfortable bed/bedding. Don’t know about aircon/heating as it was not used during our stay. Unfortunately it is not shown in the online pictures that the hotel is surrounded by commercial facilities on 3 sides and a highway on the 4th. Great to have a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities as well as a toaster (as breakfast is not offered at the hotel). Unfortunately, though you can cook toast there were no plates or knives supplied to put any butter or spreads on it. The restaurant meal was great, service was really good, wine list small (inexpensive) but fine. The whole experience was let down by our final night when we ordered in-house meals from the restaurant at 7.30 and when we called at 9pm to enquire how much longer they would be we were informed our order had been lost. Went to sleep hungry. Attitude over this issue was abysmal.

GGuest UserI appreciated that the staff were friendly and the bedsheets and toilets were clean. However, there is a relative lack of amenities and comfort, which is reflected in the lower price of this hostel compared to others. Each floor had two toilets and two showers, but 1 of the toilets on my floor was spoilt. There is only 1 elevator for the whole building meaning that sometimes I had to wait fairly long to go up / down. The only charging ports were in the lockers, which made it inconvenient to use my phone. Don’t get me wrong, this hostel does do the basics unapologetically, but if you have budget I’d recommend paying more for a better hostels.

GGuest UserI was lucky enough to have my room ready in advance, before 2PM and since my flight arrived early in the morning, that was really nice ! Cathy was also a wonderful person in general, throughout my stay. The room is pretty big, with a sink and a fridge. 👌🏻 The room I had is next to the common area however people weren't too loud, especially in the evening despite it roughly being the dinner time so that was nice. The area is very chill, a few schools and houses around so not loud at night. It is, however, situated on the planes' route and they are pretty low in the sky since it gets close to the airport. But there aren't any at night (around midnight until 6AM I would say) and it's not every 5 minutes either. The sun set pretty early at that time of the year and to me, I felt like the neighborhood lacked lights for people to walk around but it wasn't much of a bother and not something the lodge can change, so just a heads-up to have a small light/enough battery on the phone to use when coming back from your day trip activities.

JJustinI was travelling to Sydney for New Year's Eve and, of course, finding an inexpensive hotel for this time can be quite tricky. However, El Toro did give a good offer and having booked the hotel much earlier in the year really helped. I do not expect much from ”motor inns”, but this one was well equipped with a bar, mini casino, and its own takeout restaurant that was open late. Its location is about 10 - 15 minutes walking from Warwick Farm station in Sydney, so it is somewhat out of the way from most things, which may be why it was less expensive than other locations. The room was very nicely prepared. There were some noticeable improvements made to the room I had and it looked very well presented. However, there was a concerning crack in the wall neighbouring the next room, but nonetheless, it did not become an issue to worry about for the trip. The biggest problem I had was with ants coming up from behind the bathroom sink; although thankfully in small numbers each time, they were continuing to appear throughout the trip, but at least they remained in that particular area of the bathroom only and never sought to migrate to other parts of the room. However, on the day of checking out, I noticed a lot of ants coming into the room via the gap under the entrance door, so I had to be somewhat quick in heading out. Although the ants appearing is quite the concern, I still gave this location 3/5 for cleanliness because, for the most part, the ant situation was isolated to a singular spot in the room and the rest of the room was well maintained. The motor inn will very likely rectify the situation with the ants rather quickly and will seek to make repairs to the wall. It does look like it has more recently been making efforts to improve, so I anticipate it will continue getting better in the future.

GGuest UserThis is a great place to stay for a few days. The staff is friendly. The location is right in the center, allowing you to reach most places with a short walk or train ride. Remember to bring your own towels. There's no need for a padlock as your key card will open your locker, which is spacious enough to hold your carry-on luggage. The capsules are large enough for a comfortable sleep, though you might want to bring a blanket or some type of cover as the AC keeps the room cool. The capsule has an electrical outlet to recharge your devices. There is a place to sit and watch movies on the 4th floor and also make a meal. Note that the desk has limited hours, so make sure to keep your key card with you to avoid getting locked out. Thanks

GGuest UserThe interior and the shower needs to be updated, very old and outdated. The floor in the shower fills up quickly and not running down the drain fast enough which was quite unpleasant to experience. The place needs heating or a heater as it can get quite cold during the winter. The queen bed was comfortable and warm and the room was spacious for 1 person. The reception is friendly and always smiling although it would be good to know in advance if my single bedroom that I booked for another booking so I didn't have to lugged 2 luggages and my handbag with my laptop into up and down the stairs as there are no lifts. I was surprised that a woman knocked on my door at 9:45am that she was ready to get into my room when in the booking, it says check out is 10am. That made check out a very annoying experience for me. The location is great as it's a short walk to the beach and Cronulla centre.
