GGuest UserWas a great stay. Communication is not their strong point. They didn't reply to 6 messages done by phone and through their website. All I wanted was 3 more rooms for one night.
Lady at reception sorted it all out quick smart upon arrival. That was impressive, but the non-communication will always linger.
GGuest UserRoom and amenities clean. Close to hospital which is why we were there. Also close to train station so you could get to other places easily. Affordable. Parking is good and reasonable rate. Will be staying there again.
GGuest UserOK for one night.
The hotel is above the pub, which is also very busy in the afternoon.
There is also live music there on Sundays until around 9 p.m.
Everything is perfectly fine, unless you have room 10 next to the washing machine/dryer and sleep next to the ventilation. Even though drying and washing is not allowed after 9 p.m., it was very annoying.
The hotel rooms face the back, so in the morning you also have the noise from the loading area of the supermarket.
On the positive side, the room was in a modern condition and the staff were all very nice.
The beach is a ten-minute walk away.
GGuest User【Service】
They offer a simple breakfast: milk, cereal, toast, and jam.
24-hour front desk service.
【Facilities】
The facilities are a bit old, and you have to charge your devices in a locker; there are also no curtains. However, the price is really good, making it very cost-effective for a short stay of a few days. The bathrooms are quite clean, and there's a bathroom on every floor, so you don't have to wait in line. The only downside is the Wi-Fi; it might be worse because I was staying on the 7th floor.
【Location】
It's right next door to YHA. There's a bus stop right outside, which is very convenient for getting around. It's also very close to the City Market, perfect for buying souvenirs.
TTraveler …Looking for an unforgettable stay in Sydney? Look no further! I recently had the pleasure of staying at a fantastic hostel that offers the perfect combination of convenience and comfort, right near Sydney's top attractions.
This hostel boasts an unbeatable location, placing you within walking distance of iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Exploring these renowned sites and immersing yourself in the city's vibrant atmosphere has never been easier.
GGuest UserI was lucky enough to have my room ready in advance, before 2PM and since my flight arrived early in the morning, that was really nice !
Cathy was also a wonderful person in general, throughout my stay.
The room is pretty big, with a sink and a fridge. 👌🏻
The room I had is next to the common area however people weren't too loud, especially in the evening despite it roughly being the dinner time so that was nice.
The area is very chill, a few schools and houses around so not loud at night. It is, however, situated on the planes' route and they are pretty low in the sky since it gets close to the airport. But there aren't any at night (around midnight until 6AM I would say) and it's not every 5 minutes either.
The sun set pretty early at that time of the year and to me, I felt like the neighborhood lacked lights for people to walk around but it wasn't much of a bother and not something the lodge can change, so just a heads-up to have a small light/enough battery on the phone to use when coming back from your day trip activities.
GGuest UserFor a hostel, the cleanliness and facilities weren't bad. However, as it's still a hostel, it's best not to have sky-high expectations. The most surprising part was the complimentary breakfast and dinner. Considering this, it's arguably the best value-for-money hostel in Sydney.
GGuest UserGreat location, very budget building, toilets and showers very basic and outdated but capsule quite pleasant, new and roomy, USB outlet wasn't working to charge phone on capsule so front counter staff gave me a power bank who h was great of them.
Front of house staff usually only around during check in times, bring a towel or they will charge you for one.
You get a free locker of decent size to store your things which is a bonus.
Fantastic China town cbd location with access to trams and buses within 100m.
EEric HooperAwesome staff, so close to everything, laundromat across the road as a winner for me, gym 2 minutes walk shops 5 minutes walk, stayed for 3 weeks bed was nice and comfortable air conditioning just right, absolutely amazing
HHerfarawayI needed a cheap place to stay, and overall the hostel was okay, but there are definitely things that need improvement.
The room itself was messy, mainly because some guests were taking up a lot of shared space with their belongings on the floor and on top of the lockers. I know this is partly the guests’ responsibility, but in a dorm, there should be better supervision or reminders.
The shower was nice, and the kitchen facilities were useful, but the kitchen was not well maintained. There were dirty dishes piling up, clogged sinks full of food, and old worn-out sponges that should be replaced more often. There also needs to be proper cloths for drying dishes and wiping tables, plus somewhere hygienic to hang them.
The fridges were also completely full, and it didn’t seem like anyone was checking old food from guests who had already checked out. Someone even removed my food from the fridge and left it on the counter at room temperature for hours, which was really frustrating.
Overall, the hostel has potential and the basic facilities are there, but it needs better cleaning, better kitchen organization, more fridge space, and more staff supervision in the shared areas.
