GGuest UserYou might be a little worried if you don't know how to check in until the last minute, and if you don't speak English or Chinese.
When I arrived, the owner was very kind and helped me with a lot of things.
The kitchen window was wide open, so it was a little cold inside the building,
and the bunk beds had no curtains, so there was no private space at all,
but aside from that, the environment was very good.
There were people always occupying the living room and sofa, which are shared spaces, and I'm not sure if they were tourists or related people, but you might find it a little uncomfortable.
There were no particular cleaning rules, which are common in dormitories, and the check-out time was arbitrary, which was nice, so I felt it was a laid-back place that was typical of Chengdu.

Location
On a long street with many restaurants and shops along the street and a self service ATM 5 -10 min walk away, including a small market in the mornings. It is a residential area, so you will most likely be the only foreigner, but people are extremely friendly and helpful, albeit the stares. The entrance faced the main road and was well lit. There is a flight of stairs that you will need to go up to get to the hostel area. If you have not tried hot pot, I would def recommend going to the Haichiniu Xianxianqie Beef Self service Hot Pot place which is around 5 mins walk down the road.
Quite far from the centre of the city however it is extremely easy to get to. During the day, there is a close proximity to the underground around 10 min walk, and there is a bus that I took from the city centre to right outside the hostel door where the bus stop was. If you are going through the night/early morning, it is extremely easy to catch a taxi through apps and it is quite cheap (around 40- 70 yen) and the road is very well lit. I felt completely safe in the area.
Service
Chu, the hostel aunty is warm and helpful, and gives you a sense of being home away from home. This included being made some home made dumplings to celebrate Golden Week which tasted delicious! She gave recommendations on places to go and made sure that I kept safe when out. As another review said, it can be a bit difficult communicating if you don't know Chinese as no English at the hostel or around the area is spoken and it can get quite draining/ mentally challenging at times for us, however Chu still tried her best to communicate regardless and I really appreciated the effort. To get around this and to make your stay more enjoyable, I would be sure to have WeChat set up prior so you can use the chat translator and have your google translate app out ready. (N.B Make sure you are able to set up the account and get the WeChat validation/security text through your HOME sim/data roaming as opposed to attempting to set up your account on your E-sim which won't work).
Facilities
It is a hostel that provides what you need. The things that took my British head some time to get around was the shower situation and the bed; namely the shower as it was more typical of an advanced bidet than standard shower. However, it was kept exceptionally clean after my first day there and I did my part of keeping it clean by bleaching it down. The bed is quite sturdy, typical of Chinese beds, so I would recommend bringing a blanket or similar to lay on the mattress so you can get to sleep. There is an upstairs area where you can use the washing machine or wash your clothes by hand and an open area to hang dry your clothes. Make sure you have some cash ready to give to Chu to use the machine. There is a vending machine that you can buy snacks for using the your WeChat pay. There is a seating area at the top where you can sit down and eat, smoke and chat. Once you are used to the different products used (i.e remembering the slippers, using the shower etc.), it becomes second nature and a very comfortable stay (funny story: I was sitting on a desk chair outside my room and being use to the chairs in the UK being quite heavy, I swung myself around and ended up falling off the chair LOL!).
Cleanliness
Like I mentioned above, the hostel is kept exceptionally clean and I had no concerns around hygiene once I got used to the shower situation. The cleanliness is what I can say was a huge benefit to the hostel. Considering how large the place is and Chu is the sole host, it is kept evidently very clean and Chu will be sure to tell you to tidy up too lool. People in China are not a fan of strong smells/ fragranced things so you will not smell bleach or such products but after seeing a storage room, I can assure they are being used!
The photos in the other reviews capture it exactly so you will not be surprised when coming to the place.
MM338100****This hostel was such a pleasant surprise! The beds have blackout curtains and charging ports, making it an incredibly cost-effective hostel! The bedding was clean and odor-free, and there were many fellow travelers in the lobby. Sharing stories together in the evening instantly made the feeling of being a stranger disappear. Highly recommended! The hostel's location is super convenient, within walking distance of attractions, and the lockers are very secure.

CCamilla MacchiaThe location is great and the staff was nice. But the room itself needs some care. It’s ok because it’s very very affordable, but it’s generally a bit worn out, the AC/heater didn’t work and the shower would flood, taking A LOT to drain. However, the location is very close to the center, metro station and bus station, so it’s ok for the price.

GGuest UserStaying here for my trip to Chengdu was a fantastic choice! The owner is incredibly welcoming. The ground floor is a pub, and the third floor is dedicated to accommodations. The decor is unique, with lush greenery at the entrance, and the interior is cozy, elegant, and full of artistic flair. There were quite a few foreign guests, and the atmosphere was truly delightful. The facilities are comprehensive and new, and the beds are more spacious than in other hostels. The bathroom has a fantastic wet/dry separation and is super clean. The location is also incredibly convenient, close to bus and subway lines, and Wenshu Monastery. As someone who's stayed in hostels for years, this is the first time I've ever felt so at home. I'll definitely choose to stay here again when I return for summer vacation, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chengdu!

GGuest UserConvenient location.
About a 20-minute walk to Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li, and just a few hundred meters from the metro station, making it easy to hail a taxi or find dining options.
The ground floor features a small art gallery/exhibition space, complete with a very cute cat named 'Fugui'. If you're visiting Chengdu, you can ask the front desk for local tips; they'll provide maps and foodie recommendations.
Service details include: free luggage storage, staff available for late-night check-ins, and a 24-hour front desk.
Located in the old city, downstairs is 'Sishengci Old Street', which is bustling with local character.
It's essentially a high-value design hostel and hotel hybrid in the city center, featuring an exhibition space.
Highly recommend!
An added bonus: The fellow guests were also very considerate!
Cannot recommend enough!

AAnonymous UserIt’s little bit hard to find but a very solid hostel for the price. The staff is amazing helping you with everything. Also they speak a bit English so it’s easier as a foreigner. I washed my clothes there it was nice. The sleeping cabines are big enough, air con is working and the WiFi is good. In total a solid hostel when you remember the cheap price. Would recommend.

AAnonymous UserPros: Close to security check, good service, wake-up call available.
Cons: The environment was terrible. I was assigned to the first female capsule, and there was no toothpaste or toothbrush, only earplugs (which were useless). People were constantly walking around in the first half of the night, followed by incredibly loud, 360-degree snoring, and then broadcasts in the latter half of the night. In summary, I didn't get any sleep at all. It was very annoying and not good at all. I will never consider this sleep pod again.
