Chengdu Hostels

The room was very clean and well-maintained. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, actively answering any questions I had. I stayed here for a total of four nights, and the lovely lady at the front desk even upgraded my room for free. The atmosphere here is also great. I heard the food here is delicious, so I'll definitely try it next time! Overall, it's a great place to stay for solo travelers – very convenient and clean. The shared fridge, microwave, and hot water are all self-service. All in all, it's excellent!

My first stop in Chengdu was Xiangya, and initially, I had some doubts after seeing online reviews, worried about the environment. But when I arrived, I found it to be excellent – exceeding my expectations! The room was very comfortable, with no downsides; everything was superb. Downstairs is Evergrande Plaza, making dining and shopping very convenient. Chunxi Road is also not far away, so it's easy to walk there for meals. The staff at Xiangya are numerous and clean daily, tidying things up. I never saw any mess or dirt, which was very comforting and pleasant. Just a small suggestion: for the makeup area on the fifth floor, I recommend a taller mirror for convenience when standing. Also, if possible, it would be great to add some lighting around the makeup mirror, as the current lighting feels a bit dim.

This hostel offers incredible value for money! It's easy to find and super convenient for getting around. The common areas are clean and tidy, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The owner is really warm and thoughtful, always patiently answering any questions. The beds are comfortable and odor-free, and the bathrooms are cleaned frequently with plenty of amenities provided. My fellow travelers were all easy to get along with, making it perfect for solo travelers. I had a comfortable stay and would definitely choose this place again next time!

After arriving in Chengdu, I compared several hostels online. For me, beyond cleanliness, I prefer older, more interesting places, especially those that have been around for over a decade. A hostel that's been open that long often has more character, and you might even run into old friends. I stayed at Le Fu many years ago, I can't remember exactly when. This time around, something felt a little off, but there was still that familiar feeling from before. Perhaps it's just that things have changed and people have moved on.

soo, okay. Check in took a looong time, had to fill out the form with the lady, and it took a while. She seems to have everything under control in the hostel and keeps the space quite clean, even disinfects the slippers after use. People do smoke in the corridor the rooms open to, sometimes sitting directly in front of your door. She gives you the tour of the whole place, shows you what’s what, all the while saying “please, wear this,” absolutely out of context haha. Rooms were nice, had aircon, no storage though and my biggest gripe - no locks. Cannot lock the room in any way, and anyone can walk in to the hostel from the street. I would have liked to know this when deciding on whether to stay here. Nothing suss happened during our stay but I’m not sure I can recommend staying here for this reason especially. Bathrooms also were a bit meh, a squat toilet-shower combo, one for girls, two for men and one mixed. Never had to wait to shower though. Other than that, location was good, Chengdu actually has a good bus system, 82 stops close to the hostel and can take you quite a few places in the center.

I chose this hostel for my trip to Chengdu, and my stay far exceeded my expectations. The location is truly unbeatable. It's very close to the metro station, within walking distance, making it super convenient to get to Wenshu Monastery and all the major city attractions. Getting around was a breeze, and it's great value for money. I had a very comfortable stay. The room was clean and tidy, and the overall environment was quiet and peaceful, perfect for a good rest after a long day of exploring. The amenities were also very thoughtful, with a laundry room and a gym, which was incredibly practical for washing clothes and getting some exercise during my trip. The biggest surprise was the public area on the ground floor. By day, it's a quiet cafe, and by night, it transforms into a bar with a fantastic atmosphere. There are even live singers performing in the evenings – the 'cafe by day, bar by night' concept was right up my alley. Sitting down to listen to music and have a drink melted away a lot of my travel fatigue. I also met many travelers from different places here, including quite a few international guests. Everyone chatted about their travel experiences, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Overall, my experience was fantastic. It's suitable for both solo travelers and those with friends. I honestly recommend it to anyone visiting Chengdu.

This time I stayed at a hostel, and chose this one near Chunxi Road. The experience far exceeded my expectations. The guy at the front desk was super nice; he not only checked me in quickly but also enthusiastically recommended authentic local food nearby. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, and the soundproofing was also good. The common area had a fantastic atmosphere; chatting with backpackers from all over the world in the evening was very rewarding. The location is excellent, making it convenient for getting around. I highly recommend it to male solo travelers; it feels like a warm harbor during your journey. I will definitely come back next time.

Overall, it was a solid budget-friendly option, but there are a few things worth noting depending on what you’re looking for. The biggest plus is definitely the price—you get exactly what you pay for, and for a short stay it does the job. The room itself was fairly basic but functional. The bed was decent enough for one night, and the space didn’t feel overly cramped despite having multiple occupants. That said, privacy is minimal, as expected in a shared dorm setup. Cleanliness was okay, though not perfect. The shared bathroom was usable but could have been maintained a bit better, especially during busier hours. If you’re particular about hygiene, this is something to keep in mind. The atmosphere was quiet enough when I stayed, and most guests were respectful, which made it easier to rest. Staff interactions were limited but smooth—check-in and check-out were straightforward without any issues. Overall, Chengdu XiangPi Inn is a practical choice if you’re traveling on a tight budget and just need a place to sleep for a night or two. It’s not luxurious, but it’s functional and reasonably comfortable for short stays.
