GGuest UserOverall, it was a good stay, but there are a few drawbacks to consider: 1. They didn't inform me before check-in that I needed to purchase a membership card to extend my stay for a second night. Otherwise, I'd have to check out and then check in again. While it wasn't a lot of money, it left a bad impression. 2. The check-in time was a bit odd.

GGuest UserI've stayed here before, and for this short trip to Taichung, I chose it again. It feels like they've made even more improvements! The lobby on the first floor has more greenery now, and the rooms are small but cozy, with a little sofa. The bathroom is outside, but everything is just lovely 😊

AAnonymous UserThe corner room was a bit small. With a double bed, it's fine for one person. The bed faces directly into the bathroom, so be careful with the water pressure/direction when showering, or the whole floor will get wet. The air conditioning is central, so be aware if you have specific preferences. The room has three sets of lights: main space, bathroom, and a night light. There's a free laundry room on the top floor, with paid dryers. The washing machine automatically adjusts based on the laundry type/requirements. The bed was really comfortable, I slept great, but the pillows were a bit too soft. The location is super convenient. It's across from Miyahara Eye Clinic and a 5-6 minute walk to the train station. The street behind the hotel is lively at night with hot pot restaurants. The staff were friendly.

GGuest UserThe Palmer Hotel is within 5 minutes walk from the Taichung Railway Station. The remodeled room’s design is nice, pleasant, and functional. The bed sheet, towels, and drapery are clean. The air confining works well with a cold personal fridge! The room service staff is friendly with good work. The breakfast serves different dishes everyday and they were tasty varieties! I consider the CP value (cost and price) is very high! It is highly recommended for the budget solo travelers!

MM9173****Facilities: The room wasn't huge, but it had everything I needed. The bathroom was very spacious with both a shower and a bathtub 🛁, which was great. Service: Excellent! Every staff member was wonderful, especially Rich, who was incredibly attentive and made me feel very well looked after. Cleanliness: Good. Environment: The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but it was decent, and they had my favorite, salad.

TTina GoodenoughThe hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 10-minute walk from Taichung Railway Station. Miyahara Eye Hospital is also nearby. There's a 24-hour convenience store downstairs, though the night market is a bit of a walk, about 30 minutes. A bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and you can rent a scooter directly across the street, making it super convenient to get around.

EElinaJEThey offer mechanical parking, and just a right turn outside the hotel is this place called Cai's Fried Chicken, which is super delicious! If you're still hungry after coming back from Yizhong Street Night Market, I highly recommend grabbing some. The accommodation itself has a Japanese style, which is great! 👍🏻 I'd definitely consider staying here again.

JjocolocoI love the whole vibe of the hotel where it give off this rustic industrial look but the interior of the room is really nice. Front desk was super accommodating when we wanted to upgrade our room but the initial upgraded room was not to our liking and they kindly suggested another room for us to have a look first before we decide on it. we were able to check in an hour earlier as well and was able to keep our luggage at the front desk after check out and return back later to collect. overall an amazing experience with SOF hotel and would definitely come back to stay when im in taichung again

AajyysEverything regarding this hotel is perfect. Did not expect to have a nice view of Taichung Rail and hidden from busy main road. Honestly, the room have a good soundproof system and they clean your room well. Free breakfast at cafe right next to the lobby and need to select before 11am. Hope can make it here again in Taichung!

AAnonymous UserThe room was good and clean. And they offer a self-service laundry- of course you need to pay your laundry which is fare enough. But they don't provide any toothpaste ans toothbrush, which was indicated in their front desk and before booking. I was a bit confused though because I thought the reservation includes breaksfast as stated in the site but when i arrived, i was informed that it wasn't included. But the staffs are kind and helped me booked a taxi going back to the airport at a wee hour. The room i stayed had a window, there's ref and closet with only 2 hangers. The only problem i had was the aircon which was centralized or controlled so when it is cold at night, it is hard to increase the temperature. I couldn't really sleep well.
