"This hotel is like a heavenly palace! And since it's the former Ming and Qing Imperial Examination Hall, it's definitely an experience worth having. We also had incredibly good luck on our trip! The Shanxi Restaurant usually only gives out 40 numbers per day for individual guests. We checked in after 7 PM, and the front desk staff was quite certain we wouldn't be able to eat there that day. We went over with the intention of just asking how to get a number for the next day, but as soon as we arrived, we were told they had added 10 extra numbers for that evening, and we got the very first one! We were led to our table within minutes! So happy!!! The staff giving out the numbers and the servers were all incredibly gentle and friendly. Shanxi Restaurant even put up a picture at the entrance, which made me like them even more!"

"An excellent stay that I have extended. The room is large and very clean with a very comfortable bed and sofa, and good views across the Taiyuan city centre. Location is excellent, being right next to a metro station and Taiyuan Railway Station, and a short walk from the main shopping and heritage area of the Taiyuan city centre. Service is friendly and efficient. The room is extremely quiet at night, and the only negative is that there is sometimes a bit of renovation noise in the daytime."

"For this business trip to Taiyuan, I didn't hesitate to choose the Fairfield by Marriott Taiyuan South Station again, mainly because its location is right next to a subway line 1 station, which is super convenient for my appointments. Once again, I have to commend their excellent service: the front desk upgraded my room to ensure a good night's sleep, and they also offered complimentary summer solstice drinks in the lobby (unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take a picture). Thank you, hotel! Thank you, staff!"

"This five-star hotel truly excels in every detail. They thoughtfully provided books, toys, and toiletries (from the 'Frog' brand, with a complimentary vintage toy!) for our child, making their stay perfectly comfortable. We stayed on the 33rd floor, offering a panoramic view of Yingze Park – truly a 'cloud-level' experience. The breakfast spread was incredibly diverse, and the hotel's location is super convenient for transportation. Plus, there's a private gate directly to Yingze Park, which was an added bonus as we walked there every day."

"The Taiyuan Holiday Inn is positioned very strategically, and its location is of great aid to visiting this area of China. It is very close to the walking street loaded with shops, restaurants, and other places selling clothes, shoes, trinkets, and delicious traditional foods. It is also only a few hundreds of meters away from the Yingze Park, perfect for walks or visits. Secondly, everyone were incredibly kind towards us, and their services were done quickly, politely, and with respect towards the visitor, whether it be Chinese or foreigner. It is said that the service from Chinese Holiday Inns is better than that of these hotels of the same mark in other parts of the world, and after experiencing this ourselves, we can announce that it is true! Our personal housekeeper Grace was incredibly affectionate, and immediately helps when she finds that we are in need or seeking something. There are a few disadvantages overall. First, the structures and aparutus within the Hotel are a little used. For example, the toilet flush still uses a handle, which can sometimes get stuck; and, we waited almost an entire afternoon trying to get our clothes washed, because the washing machines worked very slowly and there were many people needing to use it! The last problem was with the elevators: of course, we stationed our car within the garage, and when we were trying to get to the parking lot from our room, there are four elevators that compete for speed: two that cannot take you to the garage, and two that can. If one of the two elevators (that give you a view as you descend or ascend) that could not take you to the garage came, you had to go to the first floor first, before taking the stairs to the parking. Overall, this was an incredible experience and we highly recommend you Taiyuan Holiday Inn if you ever come to visit the city. Thanks again to Grace!"

The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, plenty of hot water, and the toiletries were of good quality. They even thoughtfully provided bathrobes and slippers – every detail was well considered. 🍽️ **Dining Service**: The breakfast offered a wide variety, combining both Chinese and Western options. The ingredients were fresh, and I particularly enjoyed the freshly made noodle bar and handcrafted coffee. The restaurant environment was elegant, and the staff were friendly, making for a pleasant dining experience. 🏊 **Facilities & Environment**: The hotel features a well-maintained gym and swimming pool, which weren't crowded – perfect for relaxation. The common areas were tastefully designed, adorned with greenery, showing thoughtful care everywhere you looked. 📍 **Location**: The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to the subway station and commercial district. There are many dining options nearby, and public transport is convenient, making it ideal for both business trips and tourism. 💯 **Service Highlights**: A special thank you to the housekeeping auntie for her meticulous cleaning, and to the bellboy for proactively helping with our luggage. Upon checkout, we even received a small gift, which was a lovely touch. They truly made us feel at home! Next time I visit this city, I will definitely choose this hotel again!
