"A bit difficult to locate if you don't use Baidu maps, and can't speak Chinese to ask for directions. But location is great, as it's inside the scenic area (which means you need to pay an additional 95RMB, the gate fee to enter the scenic area if you arrive before 5pm. After 5pm is free and once you're in, you can roam around for free for the entirety of your trip.) Back to the hotel, I initially thought I'd have a view of the river, but was disappointed when I found out my room didn't have that. But still enjoyed the bathtub and the little courtyard. Nice host and cleaners, lots of places to eat and drink close by."

"Initially we booked for this hotel which was suppose to be very convenient location just right in the scenic area. But when we arrived that day, they told us there is a last minute power disruption and shifted us to another hotel which is further away from the scenic spot. (A 10 mins walk further). The back up hotel was not well maintained. Shampoo and body foam were not refilled (empty). Phone to call the counter is not functional. Hotel counter staffs are also not very friendly."

The toiletries are also branded products, which instantly increases the favorability. I came back in the evening and found that there was a massage chair in the lobby on the first floor. I asked the proprietress and she found out that it could be used for free. It was really amazing. The space capsule-style massage chair was much better than the one in the B&B in the scenic area. I didn’t hesitate to add the proprietress on WeChat, and I will stay at their house when I bring my kids to Xitang in the future. Before leaving, the landlady escorted us to the door.
