"I’ve stayed in many hotels, and to be honest, I was a bit apprehensive before even reaching the front desk. I'd heard stories about overcharging and misleading pictures in Fujian, so I was quite worried this time. But as soon as I arrived at the 33rd-floor reception, all my concerns vanished.
First, the location. This hotel is on the 33rd floor, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Zhongshan Road from above. You can gaze down at the entire street, and in the distance, Gulangyu Island is perfectly framed. It must be even more stunning on a clear day. Looking down, you see the vast ocean. I was so content. Imagine soaking in the bathtub, watching the beautiful scenery outside, and listening to the rain fall—it must be incredibly lovely (I didn't actually use the bathtub; it was spotlessly clean, but I didn't have time because my schedule was packed, haha).
Next, the surroundings. It's very close to Bashi Night Market and not far from Baisha Beach. A main road runs right in front, and you can see the harbor directly from your room. This means endless opportunities for eating and playing! Step outside, hop on a shared bike nearby, and you'll discover charming spots. Before you know it, you'll stumble upon a lively area with plenty of food. It's truly fantastic!
Finally, the service. For a hotel in this price range, you wouldn't typically expect to mention service, as it's not usually a highlight. However, the front desk attendant here was incredibly enthusiastic! At first, I wasn't used to it, but honestly, you get drawn in. After experiencing it, compared to the standard, scripted greetings at chains like Huazhu, Jinjiang, or Marriott, this attendant felt so genuinely warm and sincere. What touched me most were the entirely hand-drawn Xiamen guide and the various small stickers around the hotel. They truly inspire a zest for life, and for that, I give it high marks! If it weren't for her, I would have given this hotel a 4.9. It was an unexpected delight, truly surprising! Amazing, simply amazing! It feels like a hidden gem, a secret garden, a cozy nest in the sky—overflowing with charm!
At the end, I have a few suggestions:
1. The room I stayed in had 270-degree panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. This meant you could see into the neighboring room through the glass, which was quite awkward. So, I think privacy could be improved, for example, by adding a frosted film to the glass facing the adjacent room.
2. The front desk was indeed not very noticeable. I had to ask many security guards and passersby when checking in. Since the hotel only opened last year, it wasn't listed on the downstairs directory board. This led many people to go to the 30th floor to check in, adding an unnecessary detour to their trip. This could be improved.
3. The hotel provides its own washing machine and dryer, but since they are shared facilities, the previous user might not consider the next person. This meant that when I went to dry my clothes, I spent ages picking out tiny paper scraps from the pockets of the previous user. I hope the front desk or cleaning staff can tidy up after each use of the washing or drying machines.
Otherwise, this hotel is perfectly suited for a trip to Xiamen. I'll definitely be back!"
