MMia0307Practical location, but disappointing breakfast and service
We stayed here the night before an early morning flight, and the location couldn’t be more convenient – just a short walk to the terminal. The rooms are clean and functionally furnished. However, the staff could be more welcoming; the service feels very transactional, as if guests are just passing through.
What really disappointed us was the breakfast. While it’s a paid extra, the early breakfast offering (from 4 AM) was extremely minimal – even less than what you’d expect from a basic Holiday Inn Express. It felt like cost-saving was the main priority, not guest satisfaction.
A convenient place to sleep before a flight, but don’t expect much beyond that.

GGuest UserThis is not a family hotel.
It’s noisy , no residents lounge and kids have to sit in a public bar.
Staff dragging furniture around at 6am both mornings of our stay.
Room service was terrible.
You will be kept awake all night with drunks in the street and church bells from the crack of dawn.
Nothing relaxing about this hotel.
No private dining either as it’s all open to the public.

AAnonymous UserThe location of the hotel is very convenient and the car park facilities is also near if driving as it is in the city area. The room I booked is a queen's bed with the request of high floor. Actually I checked in quite early that day at around two o clock but the reception gave me a 2nd floor assessbility room which was out of my expectation. Upon my request, they can only changed to a standard twin room on 4th floor. The water pressure of the shower is very poor and made us very unpleasant. The breakfast was just up to standard. Only the food at 1802 restaurant is good at dinner time.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location in Edinburgh was a bit out of the way, not being in the city center. Our room was on the lower ground floor, directly beneath the breakfast area. In the mornings, the scraping and movement of chairs from guests having breakfast upstairs created very jarring noises in our room, which was enough to wake us up. Judging by the bathroom facilities, it seemed we were assigned an accessible room.

GGuest UserMy sincere thanks to Ms. Kirsty for her excellent customer service and courtesy. Her effort to accommodate us by moving our booking from a twin room to a triple room was particularly appreciated. I believe she embodies what it means to be a true manager in the hospitality industry.
TTong****The hotel is conveniently located, just a ten-minute walk from the city center. For a UK hotel, the room was quite spacious. As an aparthotel, it was well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The area was relatively quiet, and the soundproofing was effective. However, the windowless bathroom had a slight odor. The room window could be opened slightly for ventilation.

PPeter 佛系游客Good points: The location is perfect, city centre. Service is above average. We had the breakfasts, not buffet style but actually v good. Al carte style, not easy to over eat.walking distance to a lot of attractions and starting points of local tours.
Staff at reception were helpful and friendly. Above average.
Check in. Check out smooth.
Although my family of 4 while in UK, would book 2 rooms, recently, probably for the fun of the booking staff (definitely felt intentional) or the inadequacy of the computers, our family would be placed in 2 rooms in different floors, this time it DID NOT HAPPEN. So special thanks to W hotel for making this normal request come true.
Not good points: Although nothing wrong with artificial friendliness, however, when all our luggage was delayed by British Airway, and there was a reasonable line in check in. The reception staff maybe could cut down the chatting with the guests and focused in doing the job and checking us in quicker.
House keeping was below average, dirty glasses were not cleaned or replaced for TWO days. However this was not uncommon in UK in general.
Breakfast ordering in the restaurant, orders were missed twice but actually above average in UK.
Reminder: The hotel slippers were nice. Available on request, they would pretend the slippers were in the rooms, they would be available when requested Free.
Thanks.

GGuest UserThe time required to walk from the train station to the hotel is about 20 mins.
There are some stores near the hotel.
There are 2 floors for the hotel. We live in a room on the 1st floor. The size is decent and the equipment is sufficient. However, the window is at the height of a peoples's head. The people outside can easily look into the room and privacy is a issue.
Also, there are some problems in the bathroom. The light in the bathroom is automatic and this is a disadvantage. When I sit on the toilet, the sensor in the bathroom cannot detect my movement and will turn the light off every minute. It will be a lot better if I can switch the lights on manually. Also, the method of changing the temperature of the shower is very unhuman.
Overall, it is a fine aparthotel but there are some problems

GGuest UserThe room was much better than expected, clean and comfortable. Self-service check-in and check-out were quick and convenient. If you don't know how to use it, you can call and ask for patient guidance. If you don't know how to use the access control, you can ask the staff. The location is far from the city center and various attractions, about 30 minutes walk, but you can take the bus.
In summary, it is still a good choice. After all, hotels in Edinburgh are crazy expensive. I will stay in this hotel again.
