Accommodations
The villa was well-equipped, featuring a full kitchen with a frying pan, cooking pot, steaming pot, and all necessary utensils. There were 3.5 bathrooms stocked with complimentary toiletries, including house shoes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels, rugs, soap, shampoo, and hand wash. The fully functioning fridge, complete with a refrigerator, semi-freezer, and freezer, was ready for use.

Amenities
The backyard was a highlight, with outdoor seating and a grill for barbecuing. Inside, there was a dining room with ample seating. The location on Chong Ming Island made it easy to reach by taxi, and the surrounding neighborhood was quiet and beautiful.

Staff and Service
The property manager was exceptionally friendly and helpful, exceeding my expectations by being available throughout our stay. They even surprised us with delicious local desserts and cakes, which were a delightful treat.

We had several dining options nearby, including Korean restaurants and fried chicken spots that offered delivery. We especially enjoyed the local Chinese cuisine, and everything we tried was delicious.

Overall Experience
Our overall experience was very positive. The kids loved the villa, particularly the fourth-floor basement, which was equipped with a karaoke machine, arcade games, a Mahjong table, playing cards, and various board games.

YYiwang_jiushiguang’’The room design was really unique, with lots of Mickey elements. The courtyard also had a beautiful carousel and swings, and on the first floor, there was an indoor play area and a cat house. The rooms were all very spacious and well-equipped. We booked a room with a bathtub, and the owner thoughtfully provided bath bombs, disposable tub liners, and toilet seat covers.
The hotel provided a complete set of amenities, and the owner's service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Worried that we, coming from the north, wouldn't be used to the lack of heating in the south, they waited up for us no matter how late we returned and would pre-warm our room with the air conditioning. Every day, they prepared breakfast for us and would confirm our daily itinerary in advance, helping us arrange routes and shuttle services and offering travel advice.
The owner also had stroller rentals available, which is an absolute must-have if you're going to Disneyland, and the price was affordable. They even provided a cozy blanket, so warm that our child had no trouble sleeping in the stroller. I must mention that the owner also offers one-on-one park butler service, which is an incredible value and a must-book! The service absolutely exceeded expectations; we didn't push the stroller once the entire time, and except for when our child specifically needed us, the owner was helping to look after them. We had a fully immersive childhood experience ourselves! Plus, hiring the owner as a butler comes with some incredible hidden benefits; it felt like they were practically losing money on the service.
We initially only booked one night and then moved to a resort hotel within the park for a luxury experience. After that, we decisively returned to the owner's place for another two nights. The owner truly provides the most sincere service, ensuring guests have an amazing experience. We will definitely choose to stay here again next time we visit Disneyland.
On a side note: the owner's little daughter is the same age as my son and is absolutely adorable. She'd gently say, 'Aunty, hug me.' It just melted my heart.

Initially I wasn’t too sure as this is a new hotel with not too many reviews, but I am glad I gave it a chance.
I stayed here for five nights as I was in town visiting some friends. It was easy to get to from Pudong Airport - around a 40 minute taxi/didi. The area is great: lots of restaurants and malls within walking distance yet still quiet. There’s a Luckin Coffee and Family Mart convenience store just a few min walk away. Subway is also nearby, maybe a 10 minute walk to closest station.
The room itself is great: new, clean, comfortable. As it is a service apartment style, you have a big fridge and a kitchen area with a sink and an induction stove. There was also a couch, table, desk, and TV. Very comfortable for a solo traveler like me.
The amenities are plentiful. I didn’t get to try the gym and breakfast but both looked good. Super convenient to ask for additional items like water through WeChat and they send it up via a robot. I also ordered a ton of stuff off Taobao, and it’s very convenient to have a package locker and rack right next to the hotel. Remember to include your room number if you are ordering anything — it will make finding packages much easier.
All the staff were very friendly. I even had them help with me a Taobao return. The security personnel greet you by the door, which is a nice touch.
1000% would stay here again the next time I am in Shanghai. Thank you for your hospitality!

GGuest UserThis was an excellent stay, commendable in every aspect. First, a shout-out to Xiao Ge from the front desk. Since we had early access tickets for Disneyland and had to leave before 6 AM, she thoughtfully provided us with some bread, milk, and eggs to take on the way. After our day at Disney, my friends and I ordered takeout and used the lobby to eat. We were planning to clean up ourselves, but Xiao Ge proactively came over to help us tidy up and told us to go rest, which we really appreciated as we were quite tired. Secondly, the service was incredibly thoughtful; the front desk readily provided common items like paper bags, plastic bags, and masks, which was very convenient. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and they even offer the regular Disneyland shuttle service! Highly recommended!

For my recent trip to Disneyland, I chose to stay at the nearby Daoche Garden Hotel, and I must say, it truly enhanced the whole experience!
The hotel's architectural style is incredibly distinctive. Its Huizhou-style exterior, combined with meticulously designed landscaping, makes you feel as if you've stepped away from the city's hustle and into a tranquil, pastoral world the moment you arrive. The courtyard is expansive, filled with lush greenery, and features a small swimming pool and relaxation areas. In the evenings, with the ambient lighting, the atmosphere is absolutely enchanting and perfect for photos 📸.
The rooms feature a minimalist Nordic design, spacious and bright. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outside greenery indoors, offering fantastic natural light ☀️. The bedding is soft and skin-friendly, ensuring a wonderfully restful sleep. The bathrooms have separate wet and dry areas, and the toiletries are of good quality – attention to detail is spot on. Some room types even come with a giant projection screen and a large bathtub. After a tiring day, coming back to the room for a relaxing bath and a movie is pure bliss.
What impressed me most was the hotel's complimentary shuttle service to Disneyland. It's just over a 10-minute drive, and they have fixed daily schedules; you just need to book in advance with the front desk – incredibly convenient! The drivers are also very friendly and even shared some useful tips for visiting Disneyland on the way.
Although the hotel is located in a village, ordering takeout is incredibly convenient, with a wide variety of cuisines available for delivery. If you want to explore, there are also some small supermarkets and convenience stores nearby where you can buy snacks and daily necessities.
Overall, Daoche Garden Hotel offers excellent value for money. Its environment, service, and location are all outstanding, and I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Disneyland!

The overall hygiene is okay, but there are water stains on the floor. The bathroom is relatively old, and there is a bit of odor in the room. The cost performance is not very high.

Positive : Location is great, walkable to many sights, metro, restaurants. Aldi supermarket over the road.
Good value.
Shower AND bath. Comfortable bed. Washing machine.
Major positive: They take animals. We brought our dog and no problem and no extra cost.
Grass area in front of hotel entrance for dogs to pee on.
Negatives : finding the place is a little tricky, but luckily when I rang the person who answered spoke English. You need to ask the guard to let you in the small gate at the address. Hotel is round the back.
No one on reception. Called again, then waited for some one to arrive. She took our Wechat, so after that communication was easy.
Dont expect a fully equipped kitchen. A few bowls, 1 knife, 1 spoon and 2 glasses. Had to ask for 2 teacups (tiny!) . Ok since we ate out all the time, but wish we'd bought big tea mugs from home!
We appreciated having a fridge.
I'd definitely stay again if I needed a dog friendly hotel downtown. Or even if I needed a hotel apartment for a while...if price was right.... and I'd bring a few kitchen items from home!! 🤣

GGuest UserRoom 207, in my opinion, was really not good. It felt quite cramped and, more importantly, there was a foul odor. I was surprised by how dirty it was; everything felt covered in dust and grime. We couldn't stand it and ended up mopping the floor ourselves – it was the first time I've ever had to clean a guesthouse myself. We booked three nights but only spent one night in 207 before paying extra to switch rooms. The other rooms were decent, although the bathrooms still had a strange smell. But we also did a bit of mopping and cleaning in those rooms ourselves (I just didn't find them clean enough). The ladies at the front desk provided excellent service. The guesthouse is also conveniently located near food and drink options, and close to the ancient town. You can also wash clothes at the hotel and hang them outside to dry in the sun, as there are hooks available.

GGuest UserWe have mixed feelings about our stay because the expectation based on the info online did not meet reality. Yes it is a cheap budget stay on a good spot in the city BUT First off, the address does not match the one they give you on the day of check-in because the homestay is in fact a group of multiple airbnb type apartments across the french concession. So no reception whatsoever. Luckily we are a young couple so we adapt quickly but other internationals (especially elders) would have struggled with this deviation. In the end the location was definitely good to explore the city. However, the room was located in a very worn-down apartment where apparently other locals are still living but definitely not maintaining their common areas. Expect smells, a very basic shower with bad temperature regulation and electrical hazards, a small bed, no elevator for a fourth floor room, and a not so efficient air conditioning system… to end on a positive note: we did sleep well and the area is quiet so if you are a backpacker who just needs basic amenities - this might be your thing.
