I purchased the tickets on the morning of my visit, so I was able to enter by showing my reservation at the entrance without any separate ticket exchange process. It is similar to a science museum in Korea; while it is not very large, the hands-on activities are substantial, so I recommend visiting for elementary school students.

If you're bringing kids to Singapore, you absolutely must visit the Science Centre! It's great value for money, and you can easily spend half a day there! There's a wading pool outside, and lots of fun science and technology educational activities and interactive exhibits inside! If you're not afraid of haunted houses, you can even try them out! (I was scared, so I ran away halfway through!) Haha!

Science Centre Singapore Opening Hours & Best Times to Visit

Singapore Science Centre Opening Hours & Best Times to Visit

Before planning your trip, note the official operating hours to avoid disappointment: The Science Centre is closed every Monday (open on Mondays that fall on public holidays). On all other days (Tuesday to Sunday + public holidays), it operates from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

From my travel experience, the best time to visit is weekday mornings (10 AM opening time). Weekends, Singapore school holidays, and public holidays get extremely crowded with local families. For the best weather and fewer tourist crowds overall, visit Singapore between February–April—avoid the peak summer and holiday seasons for a relaxed experience.

Top Must-See Exhibits & Highlights

What makes this Science Centre unique is that every exhibit is designed for participation, not passive viewing. Here are the unmissable highlights I recommend for every Canadian visitor:

How Long Should You Spend at the Science Centre?

How Long Should You Spend at the Science Centre?

This is one of the most common questions for first-time visitors, and my tailored advice for Canadian travellers is based on your group type:

  • Families with young kids (toddlers–8 years): Plan 4–6 hours. You’ll need ample time for KidsSTOP, interactive galleries, and casual breaks.
  • Families with school-age kids (9–16 years): Spend 3–4 hours to cover core exhibits, the dinosaur showcase, and one Omni-Theatre show.
  • Adult-only or teen groups: 2–3 hours is enough to explore key galleries, the observatory, and special exhibitions.

If you add special exhibitions and an Omni-Theatre show, always add an extra 1–1.5 hours to your schedule.
