The four-way Fastpass was totally worth it! Even though it was a weekday during summer vacation, I only had to wait about 20 minutes for either Mario or Donquixote!! In this hot weather, being able to use Fastpass smoothly was such a blessing ☺️ Highly recommend it!

USJ was really fun! I got to try out newer and limited-time rides, although I must say the queues were really long for some🥹 single riders queue was really convenient for us since we were travelling as a pair! Had fun overall and will definitely be back again!

Universal Studios Japan (USJ) Ticket Options & Express Pass

Universal Studios Japan (USJ) Ticket Options & Express Pass

To enjoy a smooth USJ visit, Canadian travellers should understand the park’s main ticket types and their benefits. It is strongly recommended that you purchase all tickets in advance online to avoid sold-out slots and on-site queues. Below are the core ticket options:

  • 1-Day Dated Standard Pass ($70–79 CAD/adult): The basic admission ticket that grants full access to all regular park attractions. Perfect for budget travellers visiting during low-crowd periods.
  • Express Pass ($100+ CAD, tiered): Available in 4-tier, 7-tier, and Premium versions, with higher prices during peak seasons. It allows visitors to skip long standby lines for major attractions for a relaxed, time-efficient visit.
  • Combo Passes (Kansai Enjoy Pass): Bundles USJ park admission with local transit perks, ideal for travellers exploring multiple destinations across the Kansai region.

Is the Universal Express Pass Worth It?

After experiencing USJ both ways, I can confidently say the Express Pass is well worth the cost for most Canadian travellers. Top zones including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World routinely see 60–120+ minute standby waits on weekends, holidays, and peak seasons. A standard pass grants full park access but means spending most of the day queuing, while the Express Pass saves massive time on lines, letting you enjoy more rides, shows and dining. It is especially essential for travellers with only one day at the park.

Is One Day Enough to Explore USJ?

Is One Day Enough to Explore USJ?

For Canadian travellers with tight itineraries, one day is totally doable with an Express Pass and solid planning. Prioritizing top iconic rides and skipping minor auxiliary shows lets you cover all core park highlights in a single day.

Even so, two days is ideal. A second day allows a leisurely pace, letting you fully enjoy all parades, live performances, themed dining and hidden details of every zone without rushing. Flexible-schedule travellers will gain a far more immersive and fulfilling experience with a two-day itinerary.

Final Thoughts

Packed with exclusive rides, immersive themed zones and vibrant seasonal events, USJ delivers a unique theme park experience you won’t find at North American Universal locations. With smart ticket choices, proper timing and simple pre-trip planning, it stands out as an unforgettable highlight of any Canadian traveller’s Osaka adventure.
