Capella Singapore

9.5/10
Amazing

We were a large group of 8 people this time, reserving four rooms. As soon as we arrived, we were immediately captivated by the beautiful lawns and peacocks roaming around – it was amazing! This hotel truly feels like a paradise for birdwatchers; we even saw hornbills and parrots. Our suites were wonderfully integrated with nature. The service was excellent; even though three of my elders from mainland China didn't speak much Mandarin, the staff were incredibly patient and accommodating. However, the restaurant service could use some improvement. Having just come from the Four Seasons in the city, I felt this place was luxurious, but overall, the Four Seasons' service was a bit better. Nevertheless, Capella is my favorite hotel in China. I missed staying at the one in Bangkok last time, but I'll definitely try it if I get the chance next time. Oh, and the shuttle service to popular shopping malls is an absolute lifesaver!

👍 The facilities and services at the W Hotel are consistently excellent, and the front desk service is very attentive. ☹️ This isn't really the hotel's fault, but there's no clear return point for shared bikes outside the hotel entrance, so I couldn't return it. The front desk didn't know how to resolve it either, and I ended up paying over 60 yuan for it. 👍 The pool environment and service are both great. The shuttle bus is very convenient. 💵 I understand being charged an extra bed fee after check-in. The main issue was a miscommunication between Trip.com and the hotel, but Trip.com was very proactive in resolving it, so kudos to Trip.com.

I forgot to take pictures inside, but this hotel is really great. The room is spacious, and the twin beds are 1.2 meters wide, which is quite generous for a Singaporean hotel. The location is excellent, very similar to hotels in Macau where several properties are interconnected. There's a shopping mall downstairs, and the bus station for getting off the island is also right there, making it super convenient. They provide complimentary drinks, bottled water, and 4 coffee capsules daily. Overall, it was a fantastic stay.

The location is truly superb! It's right next to Marine Parade MRT station, just a short walk away, making it incredibly convenient to get around the city and visit attractions by subway. There are plenty of shopping malls, restaurants, and local eateries nearby, so dining and shopping are a breeze. You can also walk to East Coast Park, and an evening stroll by the sea is incredibly therapeutic with beautiful scenery. The room itself is quite spacious, especially compared to other hotels in downtown Singapore. It was perfect for traveling with kids – not cramped at all, with plenty of space for luggage and children's belongings. The only minor drawback is that the hotel is a bit older, so some of the facilities are slightly dated, but overall it's clean and tidy, which didn't affect our stay. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and they responded quickly to our requests, making for a very comfortable stay. This hotel is highly recommended for families traveling with children, mainly for its convenience and spaciousness. If you want to enjoy the East Coast scenery and experience local life at a leisurely pace, this is the place to choose!

Kid-friendly hotel, perfect for families. The kids' club kept even older children entertained for a long time. It's a rare resort in Singapore. While the facilities are a bit dated, the durians on the beach were overpriced (though not the hotel's fault).

ONE15 Marina Hotel Sentosa Cove

Had a very enjoyable stay at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. One thing I really appreciated was how cold and refreshing the air conditioning was, especially considering how hot the weather outside was. The location was also very convenient. The hotel provides a free shuttle service every 30 minutes to VivoCity, which made getting around very easy. There are also many restaurants within walking distance, along with supermarkets like Cold Storage and Little Farms nearby, so it was very convenient for food and daily necessities. Breakfast was enjoyable as well, with good variety and accommodating service. I especially appreciated being able to request a customized fried rice without soy sauce and gluten, which was a thoughtful touch for dietary preferences. Overall, it was a comfortable and relaxing stay with great convenience and excellent service. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Sofitel Singapore Sentosa

This was my second stay at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa. Overall, it still has that resort feel, and the environment is quite comfortable, but the hotel's facilities definitely show their age. The room itself was nice but basic, though the tiling in the bathroom was quite pretty. This time, I stayed during the National Day holiday, so the price was higher. However, considering the significant premium on hotels on Sentosa Island, its value for money is decent when compared horizontally. But if you just look at the hotel experience itself, the value for money is quite average. The location isn't particularly convenient. Getting to Resorts World, the mall, or Universal Studios usually requires taking the Sentosa Bus. The beach behind the hotel isn't right outside either; you need to walk a bit. However, there's a shuttle bus from VivoCity / HarbourFront MRT that goes directly to the hotel, which is quite convenient. Peacocks roam around the hotel, adding to the resort ambiance, and the fish spa is also quite interesting. The room service burger was surprisingly delicious! We were celebrating a special anniversary this time, and the hotel thoughtfully sent a small cake, which was a nice touch. The breakfast was generally average. The quality was okay, but the variety wasn't particularly rich; for this level and price point, it wasn't especially impressive. What I really want to mention is the service. The staff weren't rude, and basic services were provided, but the overall customer service was indeed quite average. Especially considering Sofitel's brand positioning and the pricing here, one would expect a more polished, more premium service experience. The actual feeling was that many staff members seemed quite inexperienced, and the professionalism of the reception staff and staff training, in general, seem to have room for improvement. Overall: The environment and resort vibe are good, suitable for those looking to relax on Sentosa, but the facilities are a bit dated, and both dining and service are quite average. It's not that it was a bad stay, but for Sofitel's positioning and price, the overall experience wasn't particularly premium. After staying a second time, it's still that 'it's okay, but not particularly amazing' feeling.

Village Hotel Changi reminded me of my home in Kuala Lumpur - Kepong Jinjang 50 years ago where there were chickens freely roaming around the field to seek worms to eat. The Counter Staff are friendly and helpful to arrange a taxi to pick me up at 3:30am to allay my fears of not being able to catch my flight back to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah departing at 6:30am. The ambience and atmosphere were peaceful, and its restfulnesness washed away all my dirts and the day heats from the intense business meetings for the last two days, especially rehydrate my thirsty and dry being through being immersed in the bathtub for 45 minutes, except to my little disappointment to see behind the turning knob for lifting the water cover was hid with black dirt. As I was fed up with the standardized hotel menus, the Counter Staff pointed me to walking along two humps away to get ready my breakfast from the 7-11 store and satisfied myself with the local hawker stores. There were all kinds of Indian Briani shops, local Malay curry foods and last but not least the local Chinese Teochew noodles soup - AMIGO (The owner won the headline on the local newspaper, whose head was black thrity years ago in contrast with his greyish white head today). The diffrent races and cultures in the eateries mingled harmoniously with the golden brilliant dusk sunset providing me with the utmost sense of security and comfort to have a sound sleep for the next day morning flight.
