"The hotel was overall ok, had that old beach smell that they covered up with scents however the scents were super strong. It was overall clean. However an average hotel for the price. The location was good, close to the beach, however the front rooms facing the street have very loud street noise due to the hotel across the street loading area. Which is unfortunate for this hotel."

GGuest UserExcellent hostel with a fantastic location, and for minimal money too! The staff are friendly and genuinely always ready to help. The rooms are clean, with daily housekeeping, and the beds and their ladders are sturdy. There's a hot water dispenser near the pool (next to the washing machines).

GGuest UserThe ice maker on our floor did not work, we stayed 3 nights, I let housekeeping know, the ice maker was never repaired, the refrigerator in our room did not work. The bottled water provided in the room was. a $12 charge, parking was $75 a night. We had 2 margaritas at the beach $76. I don’t have a problem paying for extras but I felt the charges were excessive. The hotel room was very basic, not impressed.
I will choose a different hotel on any return trips to Miami Brach

GGuest UserIt was wonderful having the ocean in your backyard. Pool was amazing especially at night. Room was smaller than we had expected. The location was amazing. Shops and restaurants lined the streets.

JJhylle MararacStaying in Penguin Hotel is very convenient since it is really closed by at the Beach and nearby outlets. However, when we were checking in the lady who assisted us didn’t explained well the informations. And every night there’s no front desk. But overall stay it’s really good the free breakfast was really good I will definitely recommend.

GGuest UserThe lobby is freezing cold. The staffs are friendly. The check-in wait time was about 20 minutes because there was only one front desk staff and the group before us spent too much time.
The room is decent and clean. Love the balcony and direct access to the beach. The pool is kinda small, but they have two pools.

CChalsey LBoulan South Beach – Honest Review
I recently stayed at Boulan South Beach and overall had a great experience, with a few minor drawbacks.
Positives:
The location is fantastic—just one block from the beach and in a very walkable area surrounded by great restaurants and bars. The hotel itself offers solid amenities, including a small but relaxing rooftop pool with a bar. One of the highlights of my stay was dining at Orange Blossom, the on-site restaurant. The food was excellent, and I’d highly recommend checking it out even if you’re not staying at the hotel.
The rooms are well-appointed, apartment-style suites that feel spacious and thoughtfully designed. I also appreciated how quiet the rooms were—perfect for getting a good night’s sleep after a day out.
Negatives:
That said, I was disappointed by the bed. The listing advertised a pillow-top mattress, but the bed was far from comfortable and fell short of our expectations. Also, for a room that otherwise felt luxurious, the lack of bathrobes was a small detail that would’ve really rounded out a luxurious experience.
Additionally, while the room was clean, some of the design choices were lovely but weren’t the most practical for a hotel setting. The cloth-upholstered bed frame, while stylish, showed some staining—fabric furniture can be hard to keep looking fresh in a high-turnover “fun” environment. Similarly, the jute rug added visual texture but proves to be difficult to clean and showed signs of wear.
Final Thoughts:
Boulan South Beach is a solid choice if you’re looking for a stylish, well-located hotel in South Beach with great amenities and a quieter, more refined atmosphere. Just be aware of a few comfort and design trade-offs. It really is too bad, because Boulan is excellent on so many things and I would 100% go back and definitely recommend this hotel to others… However, the bed quality really brought down the overall appeal. If they can improve that one aspect, this would easily be a top-tier stay in South Beach.

JJINGQIANGAt the beach in central Miami, the beach is at the doorstep. The shape is a 50s and 60s building, and the interior is a modern style that has just been renovated. It is very comfortable to live in, and there are fewer restaurants around.

AAnonymous UserIt was so nice to stay in here. Location was perfect cuz it is near by beach. So it was easy to get to sea :)
And also staffs r so friendly n kind. Especially Jazmin&Juani were so nice to me. I can say they also made my wonderful vacation :)
One of convenience thing is water is always in the lobby. Also they have coffee n tea in the lobby every morning.
If I can visit Miami once again, I will definitely choose here again.
