Jeju City Hotels with Gym

Definitely our favourite stay in Jeju — the service was excellent from start to finish. We were warmly greeted at the entrance, where the staff helped with our luggage, directed us to the carpark and explained where to go for check-in. The carpark was spacious, easy to navigate and had clear signage. The hotel lobby also smelled really nice. The front desk staff were friendly, welcoming and spoke good English. Check-in and parking were handled quickly. We were impressed by how spacious and clean the room was, with a great city view. The sheets and towels were spotless too. What really stood out was the attention to detail — the staff noticed we were travelling with our 4-year-old and had already prepared children’s slippers and a robe for us before we even reached the room. The outdoor pool was another highlight. It was heated, open until 11pm and had a beautiful view of the city. Towels and life jackets were provided, and the lifeguard and pool staff were very attentive. The glass panels could be cleaned a little more often to keep the view clearer, but overall it was a great experience. The complimentary shuttle to the airport and duty-free was very convenient, and the staff were helpful with our luggage throughout. The location is also great, with plenty of food options and supermarkets nearby. Overall, a wonderful stay with thoughtful service throughout — definitely deserving of its 5-star rating.

First off, I was traveling solo and found that most hotels and guesthouses were quite expensive, making it not worth it for just one person. I then stumbled upon this Sum hotel on Xiaohongshu, and it looked pretty clean and hygienic – which it truly was in reality! ¹**Location:** Right outside the hotel, there's a bus stop and a long-distance bus station, which is incredibly convenient for getting around. I used the public bus for all my transportation during my stay. ²**Environment:** The ground floor has a lobby with a kitchen, a restroom, and seating. I found it to be very clean, with no unpleasant odors. The room itself was standard, and the bathroom also had no weird smells. The shower area and where you change shoes are clearly separated, which is great. ³**Check-in & Amenities:** Check-in is only available in the afternoon, but it's a straightforward process. They'll clearly explain the rules and provide you with detailed key and password information. Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and I thought it was pretty good – toast, eggs, and free coffee! Excellent! The second floor is where the rooms are located. I stayed in a 6-bed dormitory with bunk beds. The bed frame was a bit old and creaked a little, but it wasn't overly exaggerated. One minor downside is that other guests' schedules might differ from yours, so you might get disturbed. It's even worse if you end up with a snorer! I'd recommend bringing an eye mask and earplugs. The staff were all very enthusiastic. You need to change into slippers before entering the room; they provide them, but if you're a germaphobe, you might want to bring your own. The shower area is wet/dry separated. I didn't use their towels, so you might want to bring your own. The common area has a large mirror, and there are hair dryers and curling irons available, which is super convenient.

1. **Transportation:** I recommend taking a taxi from the airport instead of using Ctrip's pickup service; the price difference is more than double. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the airport, which you can book in advance, for example, for 11 AM. 2. **Breakfast:** The variety is limited, but the taste is decent. No lattes. The kiwis served every morning were very sweet. I'm very grateful to a male waiter in the restaurant; we troubled him every morning to heat milk for us. 3. **Service:** Everyone was friendly and tried their best to help. Housekeeping and replenishment were prompt every day. They noticed we didn't drink cold water and stopped putting it in the fridge later on. 4. **Condition:** The hotel is a bit old. Next time, I might consider bringing my own disposable duvet cover and bedsheets. 5. **Shopping:** There's an Olive Young nearby, but I recommend going to the one a bit further away; there's also a great drugstore across from it worth exploring. 6. **Dining:** There's a BBQ restaurant with a red sign in the small alley to the right of the hotel, recommended by our taxi driver. Locals eat there, and the staff even helped us with translation, which was very kind. However, the meat and food itself were just average, nothing particularly amazing.

The carpet in the room was a bit dirty; I hope the hotel can replace it. The sponge cushion on the chair was also damaged by cigarette burns. On the plus side, it's still livable. It's 3km from the airport, and breakfast was decent. They offer luggage storage, so I bought disposable sheets and duvet covers for my trip. Overall, I'd give it an 85. We mostly took taxis because Jeju has a lot of hills, and walking is too tiring. We booked a one-day tour to Udo Island, and pickup/drop-off is available from this hotel. There's a convenience store downstairs. It's suitable for spontaneous travelers.

Pros: 5 stars hotel. Room was great, clean and big. We stayed here for a night as we were on the way back to Jeju City from Seogwipo. Price was very reasonable. Hotel is in theme with the themepark, and very big. Saw many other guests going to the outdoor swimming pool thought it was very cold. Convenient only if you are driving! Cons: location was very far off. Dinner options (only buffet $90/pax) in hotel was very expensive. We drove out to have dinner. Not much amenities surrounding the hotel. Drive out 10-15 mins to nearby food town, which has ilpum sundubu, and one 7-11 convenience store.

The Deluxe Sea View Family Room was clean and quiet, and housekeeping did a great job, providing free drinking water daily. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a good variety of nutritious options including both Asian and Western dishes. The hotel is very close to the airport and within walking distance to various shopping centers. We were very satisfied and would recommend it to friends or family.

The room floor was quite dirty and sticky to walk on. The bathroom mirror and crevices were also dirty. Everything had a charge, no complimentary water. The exterior environment was very nice, with large green spaces and woods. The pool was good, but it cost money to use, and parents with children had to be present and also pay. Even the lounge chairs had a fee, which was my biggest complaint. The location is excellent, right across from Shilla Duty Free, and there are many delicious restaurants and cosmetic shops nearby.

After seeing reviews for hotels, restaurants, and malls in Jeju on various platforms like Dianping, Ctrip, and Xiaohongshu, I often noticed complaints about service attitudes. I didn't pay much attention to them, as service in mainland China is generally just okay. However, I experienced it firsthand when checking into the hotel. The woman who checked us in didn't speak Chinese. She didn't smile at all during the entire check-in process and constantly had a furrowed brow. Her English didn't seem very good either. While her professional work was fine, her attitude was really poor. The 3.5 stars for service are for the breakfast staff and the room attendants, who were both excellent.

Before, when I read reviews for this hotel, I saw some comments saying it was old and the hygiene was just so-so. I was debating whether to switch to this hotel mid-trip. But because the location is great, right by Hamdeok Beach where you can go for a swim, I decided to go for it. My stay experience: The room wasn't old and was clean. They gave us four cup noodles for free at check-in, which we picked up from the hotel's mini-mart. Guests staying at the hotel get a discount on the grilled pork set meal at the restaurant on the first floor of Building C, so we added cold noodles and steamed egg. It's just a few minutes' walk to the beach, and the water was better than I expected (even on a cloudy, showery day when I took photos). There were little crabs and fish. The only downside is that the bed was small, so one of us had to sleep on the floor as a family of three. Overall, it's great value for money and definitely worth staying at.

The facilities are clean and the location overlooking the sea has a wonderful view. The bed is quite comfortable and the room is spacious. Language barrier can be a bit tough and the bath towels could be upgraded and renewed. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.
