"This hotel has very clear pros and cons.
Pros: The lobby on the ground floor is spacious and impressive, and the revolving restaurant on the 25th floor is a unique feature.
Cons: The room size is small, and the soundproofing isn't great; you can hear people talking in the hallway very clearly. Also, the tissues are a bit too thin and tear easily. During the May Day holiday, there were too many people, so you had to queue for breakfast."

The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from Dazhao Temple and the old street. The room was very clean. I spend half the year on the road, so I prioritize quietness and cleanliness in a hotel, and this place met both expectations. So, I spontaneously extended my stay for another day. Hohhot truly is a paradise for those who love beef, lamb, and dairy products. As a southerner, I'm currently indulging in all sorts of dairy products and loving every minute of it!"

Nice entrance and lobby befitting of a 5-star Shangrila property, with a free Mongolian photo corner with costumes. However, the check-in staff didn't seem too familiar with her work - I booked 2 suites of inter-connecting rooms (total of 4 rooms) for my party of 10, but she almost completed the check-in process and gave us just 2 connecting rooms (1 king bed & 2 single beds in total). How is that logically possible, and why would the hotel have allowed that kind of booking? Rectified her mistake, after she took quite awhile to process her thoughts and come to realisation, of course without any form of acknowledgement for her oversight or apology. Rooms are pretty dated with just a small 32 or 37inch TV, and probably not worth the price for this stay."

"The room facilities were great, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. I especially loved the buckwheat pillow, which was super comfortable! 👍 I had a fantastic stay; it's surprisingly close to Kuan Alley and Dazhao Temple. I even managed to visit Qiandao Lake in the morning, and the scenery was beautiful. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and checked me in super fast. Choosing this hotel was definitely the right decision! 👍👍👍 I truly recommend it."

The breakfast options like shaomai (steamed dumplings), guocha (pot tea), lamb offal soup, and beizi (a type of baked bread) were all quite good. The best part, however, is the public area on the 3rd floor. It offers freshly ground coffee, hot tea, and ice, along with a vast collection of books available for borrowing. It's an excellent spot for families with children to read and do homework."

"The hotel is excellent, with a great location and convenient transportation. It's a relatively new hotel, so the facilities are well-maintained and very modern. Room service is also great, with plenty of water and beverages provided. The front desk staff, especially the young man who helped us, was warm and attentive. Since we are older, he went out of his way to assist us, booking attractions and recommending the best routes. We truly appreciate his help. We were a group of 7 friends traveling together, and we booked 4 rooms, all of which were fantastic."

The mattress provided just the right amount of support, and with the excellent soundproofing from the double-glazed windows, I slept soundly until morning. The bathroom had a perfect wet/dry separation, and the hot water supply was ample and consistent. The branded toiletries were high quality, and the towels and bath sheets were thick and soft. Every corner of the room was spotlessly clean, and amenities like a smart TV, high-speed WiFi, and bedside charging ports were all readily available. The attention to detail truly impressed me.

GGuest UserMy mom and I stayed at Sheyi, and she absolutely loved it. Dazhao Temple is nearby, and there are plenty of great restaurants and a pedestrian street to explore at a leisurely pace! I've stayed at Sheyi multiple times and I especially love the Teochew-style tea room on the first floor. Whenever I return to the hotel, I always enjoy a good cup of tea before heading back to my room. The rooms are spacious, and the bedding is clean, comfortable, and quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep! I particularly liked an old plaque in the lobby with the inscription: 'As profound as an abyss, as majestic as a mountain.'

Hygiene: The room was spotless and clean. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including freshly made noodles, savory milk tea, and Western pastries.
Environment: The hotel's location is excellent, surrounded by commercial districts. It's close to the subway, and there's a bus stop right outside, making travel easy. Shared electric scooters were also available.
Service: The front desk staff kindly upgraded my room. The service was enthusiastic. After finishing the four complimentary bottles of water, I contacted the front desk, and they promptly sent up six more – truly outstanding!
Late Checkout until 3:00 PM (subject to availability): The room allowed for a late checkout until 3 PM, which meant I could go back and rest in the afternoon before heading to the high-speed train station.

I was immediately impressed by the room upon entering. The decor is simple and cozy, with excellent natural light. Especially that extra-large bed – the mattress was just the right firmness, and the bedding was soft and skin-friendly. I got a great night's sleep every single night 🌙 The bathroom's wet and dry separation was a thoughtful touch, and they even provided nice-smelling, scented toiletries.
