"Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel’s location is excellent, and most of the staff were warm, helpful, and hospitable. We checked in on 31 May during what appeared to be a peak period. There was one young lady and two young gentlemen at the reception. We understand that busy check-in periods can be challenging, but the young lady who assisted us came across as rather unfriendly. We also noticed some inconsistency in guest service during check-in—some guests were offered welcome drinks, others received bottled water, while we were not offered either. This was not a major issue for us, but consistency in service would help ensure all guests have a similar experience. On a positive note, the tall young gentleman who helped us locate our packages was exceptionally kind, polite, patient, and professional. His assistance was greatly appreciated and left a very positive impression. During check-out on 2 June, there was a minor incident involving a gift box we were carrying. The staff member handling our luggage accidentally knocked the box against the edge of the reception counter, resulting in a small chip to the box. She apologised and kindly offered two small gifts as compensation, which we declined as the box was intended as a gift for someone else. We appreciated the apology, but it would be beneficial for staff to exercise greater care when handling guests’ belongings. This review is not intended as a complaint but as constructive feedback. With a little more consistency in service standards and attentiveness, the guest experience could be even better. Thank you for an otherwise pleasant stay, and we look forward to returning in the future."

"An absolutely wonderful stay! First off, the location is unbeatable. It's just a 10-minute walk to Nanjing Road, and the Bund is also very close. Right downstairs, there are tons of long-standing eateries and popular internet-famous restaurants, and the subway is super convenient. The biggest surprise was the hotel's night view – the 'Three-piece Suite' (Lujiazui skyline) was spectacular! The hotel itself was clean and tidy, and the room was meticulously cleaned. Plus, having a Xiao Du smart speaker was a nice touch, and the delivery robot was adorable. The staff were warm, professional, and very responsive, helping me out a lot. Overall, my entire stay exceeded expectations; the location, environment, and service were all fantastic. Highly recommended!"

"This was my first time staying at the Mövenpick Hotel Shanghai People's Square, which is a newly opened hotel (25 years old if 25年 is a typo and should be 25天的, meaning 25 days old, otherwise it's a very established hotel with a recent reopening/rebranding, which the 'newly opened' suggests). It's located in a prime spot in downtown Shanghai, just a stone's throw from Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, surrounded by countless restaurants and shops, making everything incredibly convenient. The hotel facilities are brand new, the rooms are spacious, and the service is exceptionally warm. The bellboy even proactively helped me with my luggage. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai."

"Came to Shanghai with my elders and we stayed at the Intercity Hotel. Everyone was very happy with it, the service was excellent. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, we spent ages eating it every day, haha! The hotel's location is great, it's very convenient whether you're taking a taxi or the subway, and there are lots of places to eat and shop nearby."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and truly felt at home from the moment I arrived. We reached at around 9am after a long overnight journey, and the receptionist kindly helped us check in early without any hassle. They even offered us complimentary breakfast, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel very welcomed. After a tiring trip, being able to rest early really made a big difference and helped us recharge for the rest of our journey. The location of the hotel is also perfect—very convenient and easy to get around. I’m very happy with my experience and will definitely return to this hotel again in the future. Highly recommended!"

"The environment here is fantastic, really great, and I highly recommend it. The staff, especially the ladies, are super welcoming and enthusiastic. I'll definitely be back! Plus, getting around from here is incredibly convenient; it's very close to the metro station. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is also nearby and wonderful for a stroll, and the Bund is just a short distance away with its amazing views."

"I chose this hotel last minute for an early flight from Pudong Airport, just planning to make do for one night, but to my surprise, it was pretty good! It's a new hotel, so the facilities are quite modern, but without that strong renovation smell you sometimes get right after opening. Downstairs, there's a KFC, Laiyifen, and various simple eateries. Not far away, in a nearby residential area, there's even Yang's Fried Dumplings and a Walmart. What I liked most was how bright the lights were in the room. The front desk staff were also very friendly. They offer a shuttle to the airport every hour after 4 AM, so you don't have to wake up in the middle of the night to catch your flight. I'll definitely choose to stay here again for future layovers. It's the most convenient, comfortable, and value-for-money hotel I've stayed at near the airport!"

"Upon checking in, I found the room to be spotlessly clean. Atour's bedding is incredibly soft and comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. The bathroom facilities are also complete, with hot water coming out quickly. The soundproofing is decent too. Overall, it was a very good experience."

"Stayed for five nights here and I was pretty content with the amenities, esp the fact that it was a Japanese style toilet (but the bidet could be a lil stronger imo). Besides the regular toiletries, body lotion was provided too. The bath robe was really comfy but if you try to sleep in it, it might get a lil warm while you're asleep. As my phone number couldn't be used to register for *******, I asked the hotel and managed to use theirs to order. One of my wishes was to order ******* during my stay, so it made me really happy 😊 Had fun receiving my orders from the robot too. Btw, the hotel also helps receive your taobao parcels, should you need it. I booked the room w/o breakfast, but the staff v kindly offered to provide us two days knowing we were there for quite a bit. 💯⭐⭐ If I had any gripe, it was just that the staff could take a bit long to reply to your WeChat messages; had to text to ask for my ******* orders a few times bc it had alr arrived but the robot didn't deliver. Another best thing about it was the free laundry on level 5 next to the gym. Literally just washed our laundry almost every day (they'll provide everything, so that's good) For a first timer in China, I'll highly recommend Jianguo Palace to everyone. Very likely would choose it again if I'm in Shanghai ^^ Location - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (right opp Raffles City and 2-3 min walk to People's Square metro line 1,2,8) Service - ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐ Amenities - ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐"

"It’s our first time using Atour & it’s a very good experience, the bed & pillows were so comfortable. They used special type pillow different from most hotels out there and it’s so good. They even have different type of pillows sold here, I was tempted to even purchase one haha. Staffs here are all friendly and helpful, I’ll book Atour next time I come Shanghai! :)"
