I was still looking for a hotel on the morning of my departure when I saw the pictures and immediately called to inquire. Ms. Xue, who answered the phone, was incredibly enthusiastic in describing the hotel, and I could feel her passion for her work even over the phone.
When I arrived at the hotel that evening, I was pleasantly surprised, as it was even more beautiful than in the photos.
Since it's a guesthouse, I was quite wary of 'photo trickery' online. However, after checking in, I discovered the owner's dedication evident in every detail. The hotel building itself has a history, as it used to be the Central Bank. The hotel owner is a designer who deeply loves local culture, and the decor is full of thoughtful details. The cultural and creative shop on the first floor offers unique products, much better than the generic items found at typical tourist spots nationwide. The second floor features a small museum explaining Hainan's geography and history.
The hotel's location is excellent. We explored and dined all day, and the old buildings nearby were perfect for photos. It's ideal for wearing a qipao or Nanyang-style clothing. The hotel also offers travel photography services, and my child got some beautiful pictures. There's a parking lot nearby, but since it's within a scenic area, parking might be tight during holidays.
I specifically sought out local specialties. The Achun Fruit Shop next to the hotel was delicious, and there was also Lao Peng Ji Qingbulian, Sanye Zaopocu, and the snack street at Hainan University.

Flying into Haikou for a layover or an early flight? This is the hotel for you! Vienna International (Meilan Airport branch) truly has 'stress-free' in its DNA.
Upon landing at T1/T2, just call the hotel and a car will pick you up. They offer 24-hour free airport shuttle service – how amazing is that?! For departures, there's a shuttle every half hour. Just book in advance, and you won't have to rush; you can sleep in without worrying about missing your flight.
Right behind the hotel is a street full of local snacks! Tunchang vanilla duck, Xiangou beef, tropical fruit stalls... You don't have to go far to try all the local specialties, so you won't go hungry even if you arrive late at night 🍍
They have a buffet breakfast, free laundry room, gym, and a children's play area – fully equipped! In the lobby, there's even self-service coffee and partridge tea. The experience for a one-night stay is absolutely top-notch!

Am really thankful that Boss will personally come out to the ticketing counter to pick me up with a buggy and even help me with my luggage . When checking out at 12 midnight he even helped with carrying my luggage down the stairs and send me back to ticketing counter to wait for my transport back to the airport ( I was in Transit layover for 11 hrs . Love that hotel is inside the movie town and right in front is a photography studio . It’s only RMB $100 for 4 photos ( +2) if you say you are guest in hotel . Make up , hair-do cheaongsan and shoes all included in RM$100. The hotel is clean and has whatever I need for a layover . Love the loft bed too ! Unique design , let me feel like I am walking down memory lane .

Location: right on the promenade by the beach with restaurants and convenient stores nearby.
Service: the staff were very friendly and patient with the language barrier.
Amenities: I liked the balcony with a dining table. The room was very spacious with nice decor. I appreciated how they gave me washing up liquid and laundry detergent. Other places I stayed at in Hainan didn't and I had to buy my own. I liked the amount of storage space. However, I don't like disposable towels. It's very uncomfortable. Some of the cooking equipment they provided was very old and worn out. It should be updated. There also wasn't any hot water in the kitchen or bathroom sinks, making it difficult to wash my hands or dirty dishes properly
Cleanliness: severely lacking. The cleaning staff don't do a thorough job. The bathroom floor was wet when I checked in and the bathroom stank of urine. The shelves in the fridge were also really dirty. It also looked like the cleaner forgot to clean the toilet. And for some reason they filled the holes in the shower wall with toilet paper.
Overral: Because they don't provided hot water for dish and hand washing and don't clean their rooms properly before check-in, I cannot recommend others to stay here cause it's a health violation. Next time I go to Haikou I will find a cleaner place to stay with hot water throughout the property.
It's a shame because it's a really nice property in a great location. Great but wasted potential.

While the hotel exterior didn’t quite match the photos on the booking platform, our actual stay was very pleasant. The highlight was the exceptional customer service. We had an issue with cigarette smoke drifting into our room, but the lady duty manager went above and beyond to move us to a room of our choosing.
The location is excellent - surrounded by cafes, bakeries, and restaurants - and perfect for anyone wanting an authentic local experience. A heads-up for international travellers: breakfast is strictly Chinese cuisine with no Western options (coffee, tea, or bread). Would be good if hotel can improve smoke control, particularly in the elevators and lobby area. Overall, a recommended stay for service and convenience!

Anonymous UserThe preferred B&B, with beautiful environment and pleasant scenery. Quietness is the most important thing. The pillow is too high and my neck hurts when I sleep. I hope the quilt can be thicker as winter is coming. When I first checked in, I didn't consider other hotels or B&Bs. The attitude of some B&Bs is really bad. The summer is really great. The service attitude and response speed are so fast. It is recommended that the babies who stay in the B&B should tell the business in advance that they don't want to be disturbed if they stay for several consecutive days, otherwise they may be knocked on the door by the housekeeping lady! If you need to clean or change toiletries, you can tell the business directly. I will tell you after I go out because I like to sleep in! It's definitely not a trustee! ! ! I really like this B&B❤️

Guest UserThe hotel environment is clean and tidy, with a great location and convenient transportation. The room is clean and neat, and the area is good. They even helped me upgrade my room. The facilities are also complete, and it's very convenient to shop nearby. This price is great value for money, and there's a laundry room. I'm satisfied. Chen

Guest UserOk so this is another B&B home stay that I tried after staying for one night in an overpriced one next door. This is better price wise but much worse in terms of cleanliness and overall care for the place. My room had previous guests hair, plastic wrapping my, a used juice bottle in the fridge and no toilet paper. And also overall for a new place, it looked very run down. I cut my stay short as a result.
This stretch of the beach is nice and all these home stays are decent accommodations for like a B&B or Homestay style. Same issues - village is quiet during the hot day and literally nothing to do as there are no swimming pools or gyms or spas or anything really around. Street stalls open in the evening when Sun comes down. This place is also overpriced although much less so than the previous one. Sgd68/night for a room with direct ocean view. Much better than Sgd125/night one next door.
Overall recommendation - unless u are Chinese or speak fluent Chinese and don’t mind staying in the room all day reading or doing nothing, while watching the ocean, don’t recommend to stay here.
I got a good deal at Holidays Inn nearby for sgd50/night with good breakfast included top floor. Not luxurious and needs some maintenance too, but at least has a gym, a restaurant, and a sky pool.
Overall disappointing experience @ this rongshangliao village.

A Hidden Gem in Suburban Hainan
The hotel boasts a superb location right in the heart of suburban Hainan, surrounded by a vibrant array of eateries. If you’re a fan of oysters, you’re in for a treat—this place is an oyster lover’s paradise! I indulged in several rounds and still couldn’t get enough.
Beyond the food, the area offers a wonderful glimpse into local life. It’s a great spot for anyone keen to explore and understand a different side of China. The people are kind, humble, and welcoming, adding warmth to the experience.
The weather was cooler than I expected—around 20°C—but pleasantly so. All in all, a memorable and flavourful stay.
