Haikou Hotels with Bars

I brought my child to Haikou for a vacation this time and stumbled upon this hotel. The overall experience exceeded my expectations, truly great value for money. The hotel is situated in the heart of Haikou's West Coast, just a short drive from Leiqiong Global Geopark, Tropical Wildlife Park, Holiday Beach, and CDF Haikou International Duty-Free City. It's incredibly convenient whether you're exploring nature, taking kids to see animals, or shopping for duty-free goodies. The hotel's facilities are exceptionally well-equipped. The outdoor pool, with its dedicated children's play area and fun water slides, keeps kids entertained. There's also an indoor heated pool, a professional gym, and a ping-pong room, catering to both adult relaxation and kids' fun. You can easily fill your leisure time without even leaving the hotel. The breakfast quality was a pleasant surprise. The dishes were abundant and varied, with no repetition, and the taste was on point. It offered a good mix of Chinese, Western, and local specialties, so you wouldn't get tired of it even with daily meals. The room details were meticulously thought out, perfectly suited for Hainan's humid climate. Since the hotel is a bit away from the sea, it's not too damp. The bathroom is equipped with a full set of Bvlgari toiletries. The room's air conditioning has powerful dehumidifying capabilities, and there's an additional independent dehumidifier. The room stayed dry and fresh throughout our stay, completely free from any sticky or uncomfortable feeling. The service was thoughtful and attentive, with staff members being gentle and polite. From the front desk to the restaurant and public area staff, everyone was warm and courteous. Requests were promptly attended to, and they were patient and meticulous in their interactions, making our entire stay very comfortable. This hotel offers excellent value for money. It's a fantastic choice for family vacations or leisure stays in Haikou; you absolutely can't go wrong. I'll definitely be returning!

The hotel was unexpectedly good, offering excellent value for money, making it a top choice for those who appreciate peace and quiet. It's very new, with high-end smart facilities in the room, and a full range of kitchenware and tableware. The 16th-floor infinity pool with sea views is amazing. It's very close to the beach with soft sand, and there's also a wetland park where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the river meeting the sea. Front desk staff Moon and Pear were incredibly enthusiastic and quickly resolved any requests. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Haikou.

I stayed at Novotel Haikou West Coast for 6d5n. There are a few ways to travel from Haikou Meilan Airport to the hotel. The most convenient option is definitely taking Didi. The ride usually takes around 40–50 minutes depending on traffic, and the total fare is approximately RMB 70+. Another option is taking the railway. You would first need to buy a railway ticket to Haikou Railway Station, which costs around RMB 10 and wait for the departure time. After arriving at Haikou Railway Station, you will have to take Didi to the hotel for around RMB 15. There are also buses available, although I did not personally try this option during my trip. The hotel provides free laundry facilities including washing machines, dryers, detergent, and even disinfectant for laundry use. Everything worked properly and the dryer actually dried the clothes well, which was very convenient for travellers. The room was spacious and comfortable. The pillow and bed were cozy, the air-conditioning worked very well, and the room felt warm and relaxing. Daily housekeeping replenished 2 bottles of mineral water and 3 complimentary beverages (sparkling water, Coke, and milk), which was a nice touch. The staff were also accommodating. They allowed me to extend my checkout by 2 hours, which normal check out timing is at 12pm. (additional late checkout charges at rmb40/hr). I am staying at level 4 (total there are 5 levels). I was lucky enough to get a room on the same floor as the gym and laundry area, which made everything very convenient. In terms of location, I think it depends on the purpose of your stay. If your main plan is visiting attractions in the city area every day, this may not be the most convenient option as travelling usually takes around 30–40 minutes by car and each trip can cost around RMB 30+ – 40+ depending on traffic. However, if you are looking for a relaxing hotel stay near the west coast area, this hotel is actually a very good choice. One thing to note is that there are not many eateries nearby. The nearest convenient shopping mall area is called Yuanda (well known one), where you can find restaurants, supermarkets, and snacks. You can take didi there at Rmb 5 to 10 or you can walk there also, but I dont suggest. The only downside for me was that I occasionally noticed cigarette smoke smell in some common areas, and there was a slight dried seafood/damp smell when I return to my room after a day, which may be related to the coastal location but there is a ventilation in the room . Overall, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. *Sorry for the photo quality. I only recorded videos of the room during my stay, so these are screenshots taken from the videos.

A perfect stay! From the hardware facilities to the management and service, this hotel is top-notch and absolutely worth staying at. Facilities: Formerly a Shangri-La hotel, the renovation standards are exceptionally high, with a premium feel. You can tell a significant investment was made during its renovation. Although there are slight traces of time, it still surpasses many five-star hotels. We booked an Elegant Seaview Suite, and the lovely lady at the front desk directly upgraded us to a Premium Seaview Suite. She also proactively extended our check-out to 6 PM. The room was in a prime location, offering first-class views and a spacious and comfortable area of about 85㎡. Executive afternoon tea and complimentary beverages were included. Hygienics: The hotel is well-maintained, and the cleaning is very thorough, with virtually no blind spots. The cleaning staff were friendly and polite. Environment: First-row sea view, next to the Marriott. It's only a 6-7 minute taxi ride to the duty-free shop, Yuanda Shopping Center, and Wuyuanhe Farmers Market, making dining and shopping extremely convenient. Service: Five-star service. Doormen opened and closed car doors, and housekeeping cleaned promptly and thoroughly. We received a 99 RMB laundry voucher and had two white T-shirts washed. Breakfast service was also excellent. We even received a farewell gift upon check-out.

Rongshan Lodge is still a small scenic spot. I hadn't done any research before, but the weather was exceptionally good on the day we went, and it was very lively with many people. The hotel is right by the sea, and the large bay window in our sea-view room was absolutely stunning, especially with the sunset glow. The B&B's decor was also very tasteful, and the common areas were perfect for photos. The butler was excellent, helping us with our luggage and taking us to the parking lot. There were various beachside BBQ stalls right outside. The next day it rained, so there weren't many tourists, which felt much more chill. In the morning, we went beachcombing and found many small pufferfish washed ashore. The only drawbacks were the lack of an elevator and the inconvenient parking, which is something to consider if you're traveling with elderly people.

Facilities: The hotel is very new and has all the necessary amenities. There's a washing machine, gym, and restaurant. The environment is excellent, tastefully decorated in a vintage and Nanyang style. The bedding is very comfortable; the mattress is just right, not too soft or too hard. Each bed comes with two types of pillows, so guests who prefer either soft or firm pillows will find one that suits them – that's a huge plus! The 4th-floor restaurant also serves great food, making it possible to spend the entire day at the hotel without needing to go out. Cleanliness: All tables in the room, including those in the bathroom, were very clean. Service: The front desk staff wasn't overly enthusiastic, but they did handle everything I needed them to, so it was fine. The airport transfer driver was nice and quite chatty. Airport pick-up/drop-off service: Having the airport transfer service was truly hassle-free, and the vehicles provided were new and comfortable.

Checked in on my birthday – a Leo has to celebrate at the Ritz! The hotel called beforehand and I added the butler on WeChat. The overall style is a British manor resort, which is exactly my personal preference. My butler, Winni, upgraded my room type to an executive golf view room (a huge thank you again to Winni, who assisted me many times during my stay; she was always calm, thorough, and highly professional). In terms of location, it might be a drawback if you want to stay in the city center or by the beach. However, for a relaxing getaway, golfing, celebrating an anniversary, or a transit stop, it's definitely the top choice in Haikou. Winni, the butler, asked for my arrival time in advance and arranged a birthday surprise in the room (birthday cake + custom room key + room decorations + a handwritten card – incredibly thoughtful!). During my stay, I tried putting on the green twice and an 'Eight-Section Brocade' morning exercise session once. The gentlemen leading the sessions were very patient. I also swam in the hotel pool every day; it's 25 meters long and the water quality is excellent. The gym was also great – well-equipped, with a bottle of mineral water and a towel at each machine. There were also cold mineral waters available in the fridge. For dinner, I ate at the Sky Bar. They had reserved a table with a view for me and decorated it. As soon as I entered, the gentlemen and ladies (staff) all wished me a happy birthday – it was truly delightful! Breakfast was at the Italian restaurant. The lady who greeted me meticulously explained all the ingredients and food stations and then guided me to my seat. The beef brisket noodles and eggs Benedict were delicious! For hot dishes, I particularly enjoyed the black pepper beef ribs and steamed pork ribs. My child was still asleep in the room, so the kind lady at the restaurant thoughtfully packed some small cakes, eggs, and a glass of room-temperature milk. The mattress was very comfortable, and I loved the bedding – it was fluffy but didn't feel unsupportive. The bathroom had a double vanity and a wet/dry separation, and the bathtub was a good size (the bathroom decor felt the most 'Ritz' to me, haha). Overall, The Ritz-Carlton will always be my top choice for important occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. I look forward to my next visit.

Aside from the slightly dated decor, everything else was great. It's an old brand with a lot of character, after all. The Marriott rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Compared to other hotels, I prefer the beach near the Marriott – the sunsets are beautiful. The architecture is stunning, perfect for photos – a Tang Dynasty-style Chinese palace with a huge garden and a high-ceiling lobby. Many people come here for Hanfu photoshoots. The garden is lush with greenery, and the beach is just across the road, a 3-minute walk away. The balcony directly faces the Qiongzhou Strait, and the high floors offer expansive views, perfect for watching the sea. Our housekeeper, Fiona, was very nice.

This place offers incredible value for money, far surpassing most other accommodations in the area. The room was meticulously cleaned, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, so there was no dampness or strange odors. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. The host was incredibly thoughtful, providing essential items like umbrellas and chargers for emergencies. The location is super convenient, and taking a taxi to various attractions is very affordable. The service was attentive and thorough. I've already recommended it to my friends!

The B&B is at the very edge of the village. Because it is newly built and not yet complete, there are no food or supermarkets around. We booked this hotel for a sea view room. It cost over 400 in the off-season, which was not cost-effective. The room had a nice sea view. We lived on the fourth floor. The elevator broke down on the night of check-in, so we had to take the stairs every time. The elevator was still not repaired when we left the hotel the next morning. When we went downstairs at 7 a.m., there was no one at the lobby counter. I called the boss, and someone came after 8 a.m. to deliver soup noodles for breakfast, saying it was a local specialty. The room only included breakfast for two people, and if there were more people, they had to pay an extra 20 yuan per person. It is particularly worth mentioning that there were no stools in the room, so we had to stand to eat. Later, I asked the boss to bring stools into the room. In order to save space, the hotel placed the washbasin next to the bed, which looked okay, but every time I washed my hands, the water made a loud noise, and it was right next to the bed, disturbing the rest of the person sleeping. If you just want to see the sea and don't care about other things, you can stay here. There is still a lot of room for improvement. I still hope that the hotel will become more and more perfect.
