Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars;
First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review.
The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-)
Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance.
1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process.
2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance.
Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

Awesome front desk service and staff! Just stayed over for the weekend to attend a Dodgers game. Picked this hotel because other closer hotels had a $40-$60 per night parking fee, while this one was reasonably priced at $15 per night I believe. I wasn’t expecting a brand new hotel, and it was really nice. Only junk thing was our in room fridge was either broken or not plugged in so I had to throw away a cup of fruit but not a big deal. Will definitely be staying here every time I come to town for a game.

Guest UserThe AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles was a really pleasant stay overall. It's one of those hotels that's more minimalist, clean, and practical.
The biggest plus is definitely the excellent location. Being downtown, it's super convenient to get everywhere, whether it's tourist attractions, business districts, or exhibition venues. Getting around saves a lot of time, which is very friendly for independent travelers.
The room itself followed a simple and clean aesthetic, nothing too fancy, but it was tidied up very comfortably. It's the kind of place that makes you feel at ease, without feeling cramped or dated. The public areas were also kept very clean!

TMENG29The Sonesta Los Angeles Airport is a fantastic choice for an easy stay near LAX.
Location: Excellent—less than a mile from LAX with frequent, free 24/7 shuttle service.
Rooms: Recently renovated, quiet (great soundproofing), and very comfortable.
Amenities: Multiple dining options, friendly staff, and a heated outdoor pool.
Highly recommended for a reliable and comfortable airport stopover.

En1126I have to say, I'm really impressed with this hotel's environment and service. The decor is quite new and clean (looks like it's been recently renovated), and the soundproofing is relatively good. You can hear planes passing by, but it's not too loud, which is a significant improvement compared to other similarly priced hotels I've stayed at in the US. They offer a 24-hour airport shuttle that runs every 10-15 minutes, with a bus tracker, and convenient waiting areas at both the airport and the hotel. The ride from the airport to the hotel is about 8-10 minutes. What truly stood out was their thoughtful provision of three different types of water in the lobby, especially since most hotels don't provide any water at all. If you're not planning on frequent trips into the city center, this is an excellent choice. Plus, there are several car rental services within a 5-minute walk of the hotel.

Dixie1112The overall cleanliness was good, but the facilities were a bit dated. The service, however, was very good. There's a free shuttle service to and from the airport, though you might have to wait a bit. It's close to a main road, so it can be a bit noisy at night, which might be particularly disruptive if you're trying to adjust to a new time zone. On the upside, there's a McDonald's nearby, and the lobby bar shows sports games and offers complimentary snacks and drinks, which are definite pluses.

This hotel was everything I expected! It's on par with the star-rated Hyatt hotels in China. Many brand-name hotels in the US have mediocre facilities and service, but in China, they're transformed into luxurious five-star hotels with unparalleled splendor. When I first arrived in the US, I had high expectations for hotels of the same brand, so it's inevitable that there's a slight disappointment. However, the Hyatt is first-rate!
At check-in, we were greeted with a welcome champagne and complimentary drinks, available at the first-floor restaurant and rooftop bar.
The hotel's design, decor, and dining experience exceeded my expectations! Breakfast was served in the rooftop open-air restaurant. The weather was beautiful and sunny when we checked in, and we could see the Hollywood sign in the distance. It was incredibly relaxing, giving us a truly relaxing, vacation-like feel.
The king room we booked surprisingly came with a patio with furnished sofa chairs, perfect for enjoying a drink and chatting with family.
From check-in to departure, the hotel staff provided a warm welcome every moment.
The only downside is that the bustling West Hollywood district is just outside, and you could still hear the clamor of various parties outside until midnight, only settling down later in the evening.
But no hotel is perfect. The hotel's strengths outweighed its weaknesses, and the noise wasn't the hotel's fault. I would choose this hotel again.

ZoeVHOur experience at this hotel was extremely mixed. I’ll list the good points first, and then mention issues we had, as they were quite significant.
Pros: The location was great, close to the airport (about a 12 minute drive) and also right next to a huge mall with a Target and many restaurants, several grocery stories, Starbucks, etc. Super convenient for flying in/out of LAX and also getting around various locations in LA.
The aesthetics of the lobby are generally nice and it seems like it’s been renovated recently. There’s also free (and delicious) chocolate chip cookies in the lobby around 5:30 each evening.
The front desk staff are generally helpful and responsive.
Finally, to the cons:
Most of our gripes are related to the hotel’s housekeeping service. The housekeeping service at this hotel was the worst I have ever experienced. We constantly had to call and ask for basic necessities the weren’t replenished: no wash clothes or hand towels, no bedding for the couch bed, several times they failed to take the very full trash out, etc. Worst perhaps of all was how they never changed the paper, ice biner, or glass cups in the room. We used the glasses on the first night of our stay, the next day they took one of the dirty glasses and left the other, never giving us cleans ones or taking the dirty glass for the entirety of our 5 day stay (see photo). They also didn’t replenish the paper coffee cups.
At the end of our stay we shared our dissatisfaction with the front desk manager over the poor housekeeping services and she was very understanding and apologetic and there was any way she could make it up to us, which was very appreciated.

Guest UserHotel No. 1 should be a new five-star hotel that has been emerging in recent years? The hotel is inspired by the original ecological design. The decoration of the lobby and rooms uses a lot of logs, which is very interesting. The location is very good. The hotel is on a hillside. The hotel's large terrace overlooks the entire city. The evening in LA is very beautiful. Only when I stayed here did I realize that West Hollywood is a boy town. The rainbow flags flying everywhere are also very interesting. Hahaha. Delicious food nearby. It’s a lot of fun and delicious food, and it’s not like there are so many homeless people in the city. I stayed there for five days and overall I felt very comfortable~ Oh yes, the breakfast in the hotel is very good. I tried almost every main dish on the menu. There are no thunderstorms, and the juice is also great. The hotel uses seasonal fruits from California. You must try it when you come to stay. I can't say enough about the coffee and tea, they're not tasty... There are also other flaws: for example, the cleaning staff didn't check the refrigerator, and there were unfinished drinks left by the previous guest in the refrigerator... The hotel is very new, but it's under maintenance Not so good. There were already large stains on the carpet... There was a waiter at the front desk who had a very bad attitude... There was also a collective strike by LA hotel employees, so the service was somewhat behind.
