"Hostel is super cheap and about 15 mins walk to Princes Street, so quite central. My room was ensuite, and the shower was moder, with great pressure. I have stayed here multiple times and some rooms, especially the non-ensuite rooms, have problems with clogged drains, this room didn't! I wish there was a kitchen like some other hostels to make our meals."

"The apartment was in a great location, just a 5 minute walk to Princes Street and a little further up the hill to the castle. We had a one bedroom apartment, was great to have the extra space. Unfortunately we were in the basement so had no natural light and had to keep lights on all the time. Due to the age of the building and being at the bottom the pump for the water was a bit unreliable and almost flooded the bathroom by not draining the water. We were woken up at 3am by the pump going every 34 seconds for over an hour (we timed it). Having a large fridge and microwave was handy and had we been staying longer could have made use of the washer and dryer. Overall we would stay again, but only if we were above ground."

"Everything was excellent. My sister and I were very impressed with the hotel. There was a staff member Valentin at the reception, and he was very helpful. The hotel also has a good sauna, a good hammam, and a good pool. They allowed us to leave our luggage so we didn’t have to walk around the city with it. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, it was very quiet and comfortable — everything was perfect. I highly recommend it, and we will definitely come back."

"I booked a windowless room, which was quite affordable. The hotel is fully equipped, but it's a bit old, and some areas could use better cleaning. There's also room for improvement in their service. However, it's very close to the city center, so it's a good option if you're not too concerned about the ambiance."

"The hotel is conveniently located next to a bus stop where we could take the bus from and to the city centre. We tried to walk from the city centre to the hotel once and realised that the route wasn’t very flat - not the most walkable. The room we stayed in was very clean, with sufficient essentials provided. The staff were nice and friendly."

"I stayed in courtyard by Marriot, Baxter place for 6 days, as a solo senior female traveler and I highly recommend this hotel. Staff were all friendly, patient , attentive and courteous. They answered all questions with a smile , advising & assisting in whatever way they could. Counter is manned 24h. Room was clean & spacious, very comfortable bed and pillows, a large work table with plugs nearby and comfortable chair, walk in shower with easily adjustable water temperature. (A small recommendation would be to pad the table legs as can be quite painful if you accidentally kicked it.) Housekeeping was consistent and unobtrusive. Staff oriented me on how to adjust room heating and cooling when asked. There are 2 lifts and a ramp at entrance for those worried about dragging their luggages.  Although I didn’t patronize but knowing there was an  in-house restaurant and room service was reassuring for those wet cold or tired days when you don’t feel like venturing out. There’s also a small market for essentials. Ice cubes & a microwave is also available.  Technical support came quickly when I wasn’t sure regarding door lock system. Location is excellent, within 5 min walk of Picardy tram line stop which is a  cheap and convenient means to & from Edinburgh Airport.  Hotel is about 10-15 min walk to Princess street with many restaurants within 3-5 min walk. The playhouse theater is just next door. I am so happy to have chosen your hotel-Thank you for your services and support. Special shoutout to Zheni and Yura."

"Amazing price for a central hostel. Easy friendly check in. Staying in girls dorm bunks which had curtains. Unfortunately they didn't reach to the end so not as private as expected. No lockers in our room only cages under the bed and you had to pay for a padlock so didn't bother. Nothing got stolen. Everyone very friendly. Rooms basic but comfy and roomy. Showers and loos like indoor portaloos. Breakfast nextdoor was ok. Tasty and just enough. Thank you for a great stay."

"I had a wonderful stay at Courtyard Hotel! The rooms were modern, clean, and well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests. The hotel’s amenities, including the fitness center and on-site dining, were excellent and added to the overall experience. While the location is a bit far from the town center, the peaceful surroundings make it a great retreat away from the hustle and bustle. If you’re planning to explore the city frequently, be prepared for a bit of travel time, but the hotel’s comfort and service definitely make up for it. Would highly recommend for those looking for a relaxing stay!"

From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the check-in process smooth and welcoming. The room was exactly what I needed—spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bed was a dream to sleep in after a long day of sightseeing, and I really appreciated the in-room amenities like the tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was also spotless and well-maintained. One of the major highlights for me was the hotel's location. It was perfect for my needs, being a short drive from the city center and conveniently close to local attractions like the Edinburgh Zoo. The availability of free on-site parking was a huge bonus and made traveling by car stress-free. I also had a great experience using the hotel's facilities. The indoor pool and fitness center were both clean and well-equipped, providing a relaxing way to unwind. The breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold options, and the quality of the food was excellent. While my overall experience was fantastic, there was a minor issue with the Wi-Fi in the room, which was a bit slow at times. However, this was a small inconvenience and didn't significantly impact my stay. All in all, the Holiday Inn Edinburgh is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting the city. Its combination of comfortable rooms, excellent amenities, and friendly staff makes it a great value for money. I would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it to friends and family."
