"Since my flight arrived after 9 PM, I specifically booked this hotel as it's the closest to the airport. It was a bit hard to find my way in the dark, but I managed to get there in about 20 minutes, even with a carry-on suitcase. The front desk was already closed, but I had requested an early check-in via email and was given the code for the key box outside, so picking up the key was smooth. The room was a bit small, but sufficient for two people for one night. The next morning, when I checked out at 8 AM, the front desk was still unattended, and it was a self-service key drop-off. I wish I could have booked a room here for my early morning return flight too, it would have been very convenient."

"Disappointing compared to other hostels in New Zealand I stayed two nights at Pinewood Lodge and, unfortunately, it was one of my least favorite hostels during my trip to New Zealand. The main issue was the lack of facilities for the number of guests. There were only two toilets and two showers for about a dozen people, which often led to waiting times. The kitchen is very small, with little space to store food (practically only the refrigerator) and a rather limited selection of utensils and cooking equipment. The room was also very cold, despite the heating being turned up to maximum, which didn't make for very comfortable nights. The location is decent, but for my part, I'm glad I only stayed two nights. Given my experience in many other hostels in New Zealand, this one is unfortunately not among those I would prioritize recommending."

"The heating was adequate, the room was clean and tidy, and there was plenty of hot water. The bathroom was spacious and had a heated towel rail, which was convenient for drying clothes. The balcony offered a beautiful view. There was no kettle in the room, so we had to ask the front desk for one. We were separated from the next room by only a wooden door, so noise was a bit of an issue."

"I booked this hotel because I had an early 7 AM flight. It's easily accessible from Queenstown via bus route 1, and bus route 3 takes you to a supermarket near the airport, which is super convenient. I had originally planned to walk to the airport (about a 20-minute walk), but I easily caught a taxi at 5 AM for 20 NZD. The front desk staff was very friendly and attentive, especially a lady with a French accent. The front desk closes after 8 PM, but you can self-check-in/out with a key card. The room itself was well-equipped, thoughtfully laid out, clean, and tidy, with kitchen facilities and a washing machine."

"Location is just a 10min walk to the center of downtown Queenstown. The place is clean and cozy. There’s a big kitchen communal area that occupies almost the entire first floor. People can cook their food there. I think all cooking utensils and tools are provided. For the room, I stayed in a one bunk bed (2single beds). Space is enough for two occupants. Each bed has it’s own light and power sockets. Locker is also available to put your valuable things. Just bring your own lock. Also, bring your own towels. They don’t provide it for free. You have to rent it and pay NZD4. Common toilets and showers were clean and spotless during my four night stay."

"Amazing hotel. Good service and friendly staff members. Nice king bed and we had an extra sofa bed which is a bonus, it was set-up for free for us as my partner sleep snoring very loudly. The location is great and easy to find. The downgrade was the parking, there was no free parking as we had to pay $20 per 24hr. So we had to spent $60 just for parking, its ridiculous expensive. The hotel should've provide it free parking. But other than that the stayed was amazing. Had a great restaurant by the wharf and the food is amazing and bonus with an amazing views."

The service at this hotel was excellent; the staff were all very friendly, and the breakfast was the best, most varied, and most delicious we'd had since Christchurch. It seems the hotel is undergoing renovations, as there was a distinct smell of paint in the hallway, though the room itself was fine. The front desk is located by the lake, but the navigation system hasn't been updated yet. We arrived around 6 PM after dark, and the navigation led us to the street behind the hotel's old building. The hotel lobby offers complimentary wine, chocolates, and cookies at different times throughout the day, which was lovely to enjoy after an afternoon walk. However, there's one facility that definitely needs upgrading: the shower water pressure was extremely weak, and the water temperature was very unstable—either lukewarm or suddenly scalding hot. Overall, showering was very uncomfortable. Aside from the shower, everything else about the hotel was very satisfying 👍

The handsome men and beautiful women at the front desk genuinely and sincerely helped guests with their questions and needs. My three-night stay was truly fantastic! The rooftop offers stunning mountain and lake views, and the cozy fireplace makes you feel like you're in a secluded paradise. Getting around is super convenient. After leaving Queenstown Airport, you only need to walk about 100 meters to find the #1 public transport bus. Remember to buy a transport card at the airport bookstore beforehand; it's very convenient and cheap, especially if you're traveling alone or with one other person. One card is all you need. To get to this hotel (Leloo Hotel), take the bus from the airport. After about 20 minutes, get off at Stanley Street, which is a major transport hub, just a 4-minute walk from the hotel. You'll know it's the right stop because it's at the bottom of a big downhill road, with a large park on your right. The bus stops are conveniently divided into A, B, and C sections. Getting to Arrowtown only takes 25 minutes and costs 2.5 New Zealand dollars. There are many popular, Instagrammable shops nearby, like Fergburger. Even if you're vegetarian, don't worry, they all have Chinese menus.

The room was incredibly spacious and even had a microwave, which was great for heating up food purchased from the supermarket. It also boasted a large balcony with fantastic lake views. The only thing to be aware of is the steep uphill walk from town to the hotel, which could be a bit slippery in winter. Overall, it offers excellent value for money and a prime location.

You can easily reach the hotel from the airport by taking the #1 bus. It's about a 15-20 minute ride. Get off at the Blue Peak stop, walk back, and cross the road. It's also not far from the town center, just a 10-15 minute walk. The next bus stop after Blue Peak is the main town center station and the Intercity bus stop. However, be aware that walking to the town center involves going down a really steep hill, so walking from the town center back to the hotel means walking uphill. This is something to keep in mind if you're arriving in Queenstown by Intercity bus rather than by plane. Also, note that there are two hotels called 'Copthorne', likely related, but they are not adjacent. This one is closer to the town center and closer to the lake. The hotel is quite large, and surprisingly, you take an elevator down from the front desk to reach the rooms. I booked a lake view room, and the view was genuinely good. During the off-season, it wasn't expensive, only about 100-200 RMB more than a standard room, offering excellent value for money! The room was also quite spacious, really great!

If you're driving or renting a car, the hotel's location is pretty good. However, if you're on foot, you'll need to take the Line 1 bus, and then it's about a ten-minute walk on a flat road to reach the hotel. The overall exterior of the hotel looks nice, but the interior is visibly dated. The carpets and wall paint clearly show signs of old renovations, and the rooms are on the smaller side. Despite that, the stay was quite comfortable. Also, a heads-up: the front desk is only open until 8 PM. We missed the operating hours and had to contact them through the platform to get self-check-in information.

Clean, tidy, and generally comfortable stay. The room was quite compact, but there was just enough space to store and open large suitcases, and there are heavy drawers under the bed for storage (no lock provided). The building itself is narrow and compact, with quite a few stairs required to access the kitchen, bathrooms, lounge areas, and some rooms, which may be inconvenient for those with heavy luggage or limited mobility. Our ground-floor room was directly below the shower units, and with thin walls, noise from water running, footsteps, and street traffic (as it’s centrally located on a main road) was noticeable. Light sleepers may find this disruptive. Facilities are good, with two shared kitchens (stovetops, toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge, cutlery, and crockery), indoor and balcony seating areas, and a large lounge (TV plays DVDs only). There are multiple shared unisex bathrooms, including single units and a space with two showers and toilets. This may not suit everyone. Cleaned in the morning but gets dirty by end of day. On a positive, there are plenty of bath mats, liquid soap, and a hair dryer are provided. Laundry is available via QR code payment (around $6 per wash or dry), and on-site parking is offered at $40 per night. Towel available for hire ($4). Staff super friendly.

“Fantastic stay – highly recommend!” I had an excellent stay at the Cambridge Hotel. The location is perfect, within easy walking distance to major attractions, restaurants, and public transport. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with a great city view from the balcony. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, always going above and beyond to assist with any requests. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The facilities were also impressive, especially the indoor pool and overall cleanliness of the hotel. Everything felt well-maintained and welcoming. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money, combining comfort, convenience, and excellent service. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We arrived in Queenstown by car very late. This was the only hotel that answered our call after 10 PM and said check-in was possible at any time. The hotel is right in the center. There are a lot of young people who came to have fun in Queenstown. There are free parking lots near the hotel in the evening and at night. During the day, you can only park there for half an hour. So we had to wake up at 8 AM to move the car to a free parking lot further away.
