"It was pretty good. It's behind a gas station, and we got there by taxi. Transportation was convenient; it was easy to transfer from Line 2 to Line 1 at the Old Port. Don't stay in guesthouses in Marseille—they don't have air conditioning and it's unbearably hot in the summer. Luckily, we booked this hotel in time, so we were very grateful to have a place to stay. We stayed for four nights. Walking to the metro station was also very convenient. There's a football stadium there; during the Olympics, there was a football match, so it was quite crowded. Marseille has people of all skin colors, so be careful and don't go out alone at night, especially women. Remember to go to Provence before the end of June; the lavender will be gone by early July, and the scenery is breathtaking. This trip to France has a powerful impact!"

"We came here on our honeymoon - Marseille is great, but this hotel was not. What really irritated us was that the hotel had assured us that the room we had booked - one of the more expensive ones called 'Executive Bord de Mer' - was 20 m2 all up. I had an email exchange several months before with the receptionist who assured me that 20 m2 was indeed the size of the room. Well we got there and the room was tiny. The hotel seemed to want to overcompensate for this by offering various freebies upon arrival - a bottle of rose, a Sezane tote bag, free fizzy drinks in the mini bar. However the floor space in the room was so minute you couldn't even open a suitcase. You had to squeeze past the bed to get to the balcony. I asked the hotel staff about it and at first they claimed that the room was 'definitely' 20 m2, it was just 'an unusual shape'... after a few minutes conversation they suddenly said the 20m2 actually included the bathroom. I then measured the room and the bathroom with the iphone tape measure app which is pretty accurate. Turns out the bedroom itself was under 8m2. Even including the bathroom, the whole space was around 13 m2. So the 20m2 claim that we were invited to believe, was simply "an alternative truth" to draw customers in. After I'd complained, the hotel mysteriously waived the fee for the hotel breakfast. While that was nice, it would have been better if they'd simply been honest from the start and admitted that the room is tiny - despite it being the "executive room". yes the balcony is big but the hotel management are not being honest about the size of the room. it was the dishonesty that we found really upsetting - and off-putting. 965 euros for two nights felt like we were being ripped off. Next time we'll be staying at Hotel la Residence du Vieux Port where the rooms are actually the size they're advertised as."

The rooms are fully equipped, seemingly designed for long-term rentals, even including pots, pans, an induction cooker, a microwave, and a range hood. However, there's no elevator, and the spiral staircase is very difficult to navigate; carrying luggage up to the third floor was exhausting! So exhausting!"

"Location is unbeatable but the hotel itself is really not up to even 3 stars standard. The room is small which is expected. However, it is different from what the images have projected. Not even a place to put our 2 luggages in. Layout is not workable, totally no room to move around especially in the bathroom. Air condition is very loud. Sofa bed instead of proper bed, not comfortable. Marseille is one of the most unsafe area in France, there is no safe in the room which you could put your valuables in. Had the hassles of carrying valuables around. We have stayed in a lot of small hotels in Japan, Hong Kong and Korea, never had such bad experiences. The actual product is just difference from the images on the website. Maybe is ok for 1 person but definitely not more than 1 for a room like this. Strongly recommended not to stay there if you are looking for a comfortable stay."
