"This guesthouse is perfectly located right inside Dukezong Ancient Town, very close to the Giant Prayer Wheel at Dafo Temple, making it super convenient to get everywhere. The best part is how incredibly warm and welcoming the owners are! They arranged for a car to pick us up when we arrived in Shangri-La and even prepared afternoon tea for us – such a thoughtful touch! The room facilities are all complete, very new, clean, and comfortable. Since we were staying for two nights, we booked two different room types. To save us the hassle of switching rooms on the second day, the owner kindly upgraded us to Room 108 for free. I absolutely loved the decor and style! Honestly, this was the best guesthouse experience of our entire Yunnan trip. The room rates were also very reasonable (the guesthouses we stayed at in Dali and Lijiang before this were much more expensive, but the service wasn't nearly as good). All in all, Shangri-La's guesthouses and attractions did not disappoint us in the slightest. We'll definitely be back and will stay here again next time!"

The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and every photo turns out beautifully. The room is well-equipped with storage, drinking water, and tea/coffee facilities. The bathrobes are soft, the lighting is gentle, and the smart home system is easy to operate. Overall, it's clean and peaceful, and after a long day of traveling on the plateau, returning to the room is incredibly therapeutic. The attention to detail is evident everywhere, the service is attentive, and the stay was a wonderful experience!

This stay was truly captivating, and the owner's hospitality captivated me! My sister highly recommended this homestay in Dukezong Ancient Town. The owner, Zhuoma, proactively asked about our itinerary from the moment we booked. Upon arrival, she not only provided a detailed and practical guide to Shangri-La, but also shared tips on hidden gems and pitfalls to avoid. It was even more reliable than a handy guide.
The most heartwarming thing was that as soon as we dropped off our luggage, the owner brought us hot yak milk. It warmed me up and instantly dispelled my travel fatigue. The amenities were even more amazing. The entire home is equipped with smart home technology, allowing for voice control of lights and curtains, making it incredibly easy to use. The furniture is all brand new and high-quality, and it's clear the owner put a lot of thought into the renovations, making the stay both comfortable and technologically advanced.
The view from the window is incredibly thoughtful, and this homestay is simply divine!
The room I stayed in this time truly took full advantage of its ”view room” status. In the morning, as I pulled back the heavy blackout curtains, the view before me was breathtaking: directly across from me was the lush greenery of Guishan Park, and the large prayer wheel atop the mountaintop was so clear it seemed almost palpable. Especially in the evening, the setting sun cast a warm glow on the prayer wheel, and even the people circumambulating the park could be vaguely seen. I didn't have to squeeze into the crowds at the observation deck; I could quietly enjoy this unique view from my room. The photos I took and posted on WeChat Moments were met with inquiries about the address.
Even more touching was the thoughtful attention to detail at the B&B. Considering the local climate and altitude, an oxygen concentrator was pre-installed in the room. The owner came to teach me how to use it. When I occasionally felt a little hypoxic at night, I turned it on and immediately felt much better. Hanging in the closet was a thick, complimentary down jacket. The clean, simple design meant I didn't have to carry heavy clothing, and I wore it when I went out to visit the park or see the prayer wheels, offering both windproof and warmth. This thoughtful consideration of the guests' needs was even more heartwarming than the scenery itself. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting! When we checked out, the owner even prepared a Vajra knot, a local ******* gift, for my girlfriend and me. It was a thoughtful gesture, and it was truly heartwarming. The entire experience was not only comfortable, but also felt like visiting a friend's home. I've already recommended it to friends planning a trip, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!

Opening the window, you're greeted by misty green mountains – the wilderness vibe is absolutely immersive. The room was clean and comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling window offered stunning views. The lawn in the courtyard, along with the adorable pets, made for fantastic photo opportunities 📸.
But the biggest surprise was the evening! The owner was incredibly warm and invited us to join them for a bonfire, BBQ, and singing. The charcoal sizzled, and the evening breeze carried the songs as everyone clinked glasses and chatted, laughing. Any sense of unfamiliarity instantly melted away; it was so warm and relaxing.
More than just accommodation, this felt like a cozy haven in Tibet. The scenery, environment, service, and human touch were all perfect. If you're traveling to Shangri-La, you can't go wrong choosing this place – it's a guaranteed winner! 🌿

The room was spacious and bright. Breakfast is ample. They also provide self serve fruits and snacks at the lobby. About 10 minutes stroll to the busier part of town. About 13 minutes stroll to east gate carpark to take the direct bus to key scenic sights. Overall, highly recommend a stay!

BbobqianThis hotel was the highlight of our Shangri-La trip, making up for the bad mood caused by the rainy weather. The location is excellent – just outside the East Gate, next to the People's Court and opposite a hospital, which is where the shuttle buses depart for all the attractions. Everything is very close by, which is great. There are also many restaurants in the surrounding area, and parking is free.
The hotel facilities are on par with those of well-known budget chain hotels. The oxygen supply is excellent and ample, and for extended stays, the hotel even provides nasal cannulas.
The service is truly outstanding, from Mr. Yixi who picked us up at the station, to the front desk staff, and the breakfast service team – everyone was incredibly thoughtful. They really go above and beyond to anticipate and fulfill guests' needs, as if they’re constantly worried about guests being unhappy. We were concerned about altitude sickness, and Mr. Yixi shared tips from locals, so we went to the pharmacy and bought some oral solution. We hiked 6 kilometers in Pudacuo without needing a single breath of oxygen. The breakfast was quite rich, comparable to some other popular chains.
They even gave us a small gift when we checked out, which was a lovely touch.

AAgathe2This hotel was the best stay of my trip in Sichuan / Yunnan. I cherish the countryside and i was apply to go out of the city to enjoy the slow life, the real life with nature and animals. This stay gave me everything!
The owners, 仁安 里 and Jiren, welcomed me like a was family. I was starving and they invited me to have dinner with them. It was really nice and i felt really included into their community.
The room was spacious, luminous, and confortable with a huge bed ! I really loved staying on the sofa in the morning, when the sun was blazing. The breakfast was good and generous.
My favorite day was to discover the surrounding of the hotel, walking in the village, seeing all the cute animals (cows, baby cows, dogs, cats, poneys, roosters).
The owner was so considerate to me, he drove me to Shangri-La city center because no taxis were available. Visiting the old town, i was so happy to have chosen a hotel away from this touristic place. He also picked me up and drop me off at the train station.
I would absolutely recommend and return to this hotel. I loved it very much. It gave me the opportunity to relax, discover ******* culture and amazing people, and live the slow life.

GGuest UserBad weather and a late arrival meant no photos. It's a tent in the valley, so I recommend booking one with a 270-degree view. You might even end up in a celebrity's former room by accident! My friend got Guo Jingfei's room, and I was so envious. It's a great spot for slow living when the weather's good, perfect for having tea and chatting with friends. Very relaxing.

AAngelinaTanWe had the best stay at MuKa Pastoral Manor during our Yunnan trip.
The property has a true resort-like atmosphere, complemented by exceptional butler service. Upon check-in, we were added to a dedicated WeChat group with the hotel team. Since there is no telephone in the room, guests can simply send any request or question via WeChat, and the staff respond almost instantly.
The hotel also uses the group chat to share daily reminders about breakfast hours, afternoon tea, the complimentary photoshoot, tea sessions, and the nightly bonfire activities. It made communication very convenient and personalized.
One experience that really impressed us was when we had to leave before breakfast hours for an early sightseeing trip. We asked if they could prepare something simple for us, and they thoughtfully packed bread, boiled eggs, milk, and local snacks. It was an unexpected gesture that we truly appreciated.
We stayed in a Level 2 duplex-style room with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, making it perfect for a family or a group of four. The room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with an oxygen supply system and a dehumidifier. The butler also took the initiative to explain how to use the oxygen system and shared useful advice on managing altitude sickness, especially after learning about our previous and upcoming destinations.
The afternoon tea and nightly bonfire experience are held on Level 5, which also features a cozy mini library. While most of the books are in Chinese, guests are free to browse and enjoy the space. We particularly enjoyed the traditional yak butter tea experience around the bonfire in the evening.
Although the property is located about 20 minutes by Didi from Shangri-La Ancient Town, transportation is very convenient and ride-hailing services are readily available. The hotel also provides complimentary transfers to and from Shangri-La Railway Station, which was a nice added benefit.
What truly sets MuKa Pastoral Manor apart is its outstanding hospitality and beautiful natural surroundings. The farm, courtyard, and open spaces create a peaceful retreat close to nature. My favorite part was waking up each morning to breathtaking views of Shika Snow Mountain (石卡雪山) right outside the window.
Overall, this was one of the most memorable stays of our trip. Between the attentive service, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and stunning scenery, I would highly recommend MuKa Pastoral Manor to anyone visiting Shangri-La.
I speak highly of the place, but if there is one area for improvement, it would be the breakfast selection. Given the overall standard and level of service they provide, I would have expected a slightly higher-quality breakfast offering. It felt somewhat underwhelming, with very basic Western options (bread, egg, jam) and Asian offerings (Mi Xian), along with milk, coffee, and juice. The juice also did not seem freshly prepared, but rather packaged.
