"THE BEST HOTEL WE'VE EVER STAYED AT 😩❤️❤️ Our plan was to stay one night in Shangri-La and we made THE BEST decision booking this hotel. They provided pick up and drop off service from the railway station and the car was very comfortable for us 4 people. The butler waited for us right outside the station and greeted us with a smile. He helped us with the bags and drove us to the hotel. The hotel was only a few minutes away from the station and when we arrived, the staff gave us each the ******* scarf as a welcome gift. They explained everything in english and added us to a wechat group with all the staffs so we can ask anything in the group through wechat right away. The room was BIG. Was luxurious and very high tech. and DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE VIEWS 😭😭😭 The view from the room was IMMACULATE. I COULD WATCH IT EVERYDAY. Everything was clean, new and COMFY. They have everything prepared and everything was complete. The hotel provided complimentary afternoon tea for each night and you could order any drinks you like from the rooftop cafe. The drinks were amazing and they even provided some fruits. The view from the rooftop cafe was also amazing. We had an amazing time in the cafe. There were a lot of animals roaming around the ranch of the hotel and we got to touch feed and take pictures with all of them!!! It was THE MOST MEMORABLE part of the stay! There were rabbits goats lambs alpacas yak cows pigs. All of them were roaming around freely and we could take pictures and play with them! There were also another cafe and the other side of the ranch with very good views. The ranch is filled with multiple photo spots. They prepared a few huts with cute props for us to take pictures. At night, they prepared a tea making event for us to enjoy but we didnt have any time since we went to the ancient town that night. The Didis are surprisingly easy to be found even at 11pm. When we came back to the hotel they handed us each a cup of warm yak milk for a good night sleep. We slept so comfortably and the next day, we had our delicious breakfast and they were so considerate offering us a halal version of the breakfast!! And we also had our complimentary photoshoot with the ******* cultural outfits. It was very good and we got 5 pictures for free!! We requested for a late checkout but they couldn't do it since there are other people checking in the next day. However, they instead offered another complimentary afternoon tea session!!! After checking out, we leave our bags in the hotel lobby and they handed us each a goody bag filled with snacks!!! We played a little bit more with the animals and enjoyed our last few hours in the rooftop cafe for the last time! We were so sad leaving the hotel but surely we will come again!!!"

"Super convenient location - only a ten minute drive from the airport and about fifteen minutes from the train station. It's also easy walking distance from the Ancient City, and all the major tourist locations are easily accessible by taxi or bus. The room was well kept, and the staff were very helpful in helping me to plan my activities. They even went the extra mile and helped me to get back some jewellery I left in the room after check out. Big recommend, would definitely stay here again."

"The owner's wife was already waiting for us outside the high-speed train station, and she kindly helped us with our heavy luggage and took us to the hotel. She thoughtfully advised us on what to look out for in Shangri-La to avoid altitude sickness. The hotel also offers electric scooters for rent at 50 RMB per day. I rented one to go to Napa Lake, and the owner's wife kindly reminded me to bring extra clothes because it would be colder there. It was a lifesaver that I did, as I was shivering from the cold. The hotel also has many shawls available for free use. In the evening, we also booked a local ******* feast with the owner's wife; the seating arrangements were excellent, and the visual effect was superb. When checking out, the owner's wife told me to cancel my Didi (ride-sharing app) as she would provide a free ride to the high-speed train station. The driver and car arranged were both excellent!"

"I had such a wonderful stay at Lisiman in Shangri-La, and honestly, it was much more than just a hotel stay. Even before my arrival, the Lisiman team had already created a dedicated WeChat housekeeping group and assigned me a one-to-one butler, Maike, to assist me with anything I needed throughout my stay. As someone travelling solo in China who basically only knew how to say “ni hao” and “xie xie,” this was incredibly helpful! 😆 The language barrier was never really an issue because whenever I needed something, I could simply send a message in the WeChat group and Maike would help or bring it over. The other housekeepers in the group were equally attentive. Alan, Maike would send reminders for breakfast, remind me to collect the complimentary soup, and make sure I didn’t miss the little experiences and benefits included with my stay. I was actually surprised by how many complimentary treats and services were included with the booking, together with the photoshoot. These thoughtful extras really added value and made me feel very well taken care of throughout my stay. Upon arrival, my room was randomly assigned among the cabin rooms and wasn’t the particular cabin with the wooden gate that I had been hoping for. Nevertheless, the room was beautiful and the view was already superb. I mentioned my preference to Maike, and this became one of the highlights of my stay — I received a complimentary upgrade to exactly the room I wanted! 🥹 I was so happy and genuinely grateful that they took my request seriously and made the effort to accommodate me. And then there is the location itself — absolutely breathtaking. Waking up surrounded by mountains and vast green grassland felt almost unreal. You don’t even need to rush out sightseeing because there is already so much to enjoy around the property. You can feed the animals, wander around the grassland, take beautiful photos, or simply sit and enjoy the scenery. There is also a lovely cabin café where you can relax while taking in the surroundings. What impressed me most was how Lisiman combines beautiful accommodation and incredible scenery with genuinely attentive hospitality. The team doesn’t just provide a room; they make sure you are comfortable and actually get to enjoy everything included in your stay. For an international solo traveller who speaks very little Chinese, I felt very comfortable and well looked after here. Thank you especially to Maike and all the housekeepers for making everything so easy for me. My only regret is that I stayed for just one night. I definitely should have stayed longer. ❤️ If I return to Shangri-La, Lisiman will absolutely be somewhere I would love to stay again."

"Passing through Shangri-La, my top choice was naturally the Shangri-La Hotel, and it truly lived up to its reputation. The hotel is conveniently located near Songzanlin Monastery, Dukezong Ancient Town, and Zaya Manor, making getting around incredibly easy. The hotel itself is charmingly antique and distinctly *******, with unique characteristics yet an undeniable sense of luxury. The rooms, while not huge, are exceptionally comfortable, offering great views and a relaxing atmosphere. What truly stands out, however, is the hotel's service. From the security guards and porters to the front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff, everyone was warm, professional, and efficient, making the stay truly delightful. Highly recommend!"

"I absolutely loved this guesthouse! The decor is stunning, truly beautiful. I especially liked that the staff, both the young men and women, were incredibly helpful and responsible, always ready to assist with anything. What really surprised me, in a good way, was the library, haha! I didn't expect to find an actual library, and on one wall, every single book had a short review – that was a delightful surprise. The room facilities were also excellent, making for a very comfortable and reassuring stay (＾∇＾). The location is super convenient too; although it's within the ancient town, it's not noisy at all, and getting around the ancient town is easy and quick. If you love peace and quiet, you absolutely must try this place. And there's another part I adored: a whole wall of 'traveling postcards'! Absolutely loved it. All in all, highly recommended. It's perfect, just perfect!"

"This hotel was a huge, pleasant surprise! The room view was absolutely stunning, directly overlooking the old town, and I could even see the prayer wheel. All the staff, every single one of them, were incredibly friendly and helpful! They even offered to pick us up and drop us off at the old town entrance. It's conveniently located near the North Gate. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable, equipped with an oxygen machine and humidifier, among other amenities. Highly recommend!"

"All the way from Kunming to Shangri-La, the most amazing and comfortable hotel, must be strong Amway! ! ! ! The first day came late, the housekeeper called in advance to ask if he needed to pick up the station service, and the driver was already waiting at the door. After arriving at the hotel, the manager's sister also asked us if we had high anti-reflective symptoms and told us some precautions, which was very intimate. You can also choose your own toiletries, which is the most amazing place. The location of the hotel is also super good, close to the ancient city, and you can see the three mountains in the distance. Compared with some viewing hotels in Napa Sea, the price is very high. The friends in the same group are also full of praise and recommend."

"We stayed at Moye Hotel expecting a 5-star experience matching the price (~€230/night). The views are genuinely spectacular, and a couple of gestures were appreciated — but several issues meant the overall stay didn't match that positioning. Room location: We were placed in what appeared to be a newly opened section — the corridor still smelled strongly of fresh paint. The room also faced the road, with direct light from two billboards visible through the window all night. This is a specification that should be disclosed at booking, especially for guests like us who choose rooms partly based on location and view We raised the light issue via WeChat with staff on arrival. Their only response was that our room was already positioned away from ”one of the billboards”, not the one we'd actually flagged. No follow-up, no alternative offered, and no acknowledgment for the rest of the stay. Language barrier: No staff member we interacted with spoke English; all communication required a translation app, which was unexpected at this price point and star rating. Dining: Breakfast is a fixed set of about 9 small Chinese dishes with no Western alternative. We tried the Western restaurant instead — a burger and a pizza came to €53, and the quality didn't come close to justifying that price. What worked: The views are excellent — worth a coffee or meal there even without staying overnight. The staff also helped us arrange a private car, and we were given a bottle of regional wine as a farewell gift, both of which were nice touches. At €230/night, I would not recommend this hotel. The price implies a 5-star experience that the room placement, unresolved complaint, language barrier, and dining costs didn't deliver. Good for the views alone, not for a stay."

"We had a wonderful stay! Even though we barely speak the local language, we felt incredibly well looked after and supported throughout our entire stay. A special thank you to Kian, who communicated with us very well in English and made it so much easier to organize all the activities and experiences we enjoyed during our time here. We would also like to really thank the rest of the reception team and our driver for their kindness and helpfulness, we truly felt cared for at all times. The hotel itself is excellent, the facilities are modern, comfortable, and spotless. Our room was perfect, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is also great, just a few minutes from the entrance to the old town. We would absolutely recommend this hotel. If we ever come back to Shangri-La, we would stay here again without a doubt. 10/10! 😊"
