The front desk even advised us against strenuous exercise due to the risk of altitude sickness. The auntie at the noodle station in the breakfast restaurant provided good service, and the special butter tea, while a bit unique in taste, was actually delicious."

"I had such a wonderful stay at Lisiman in Shangri-La, and honestly, it was much more than just a hotel stay. Even before my arrival, the Lisiman team had already created a dedicated WeChat housekeeping group and assigned me a one-to-one butler, Maike, to assist me with anything I needed throughout my stay. As someone travelling solo in China who basically only knew how to say “ni hao” and “xie xie,” this was incredibly helpful! 😆 The language barrier was never really an issue because whenever I needed something, I could simply send a message in the WeChat group and Maike would help or bring it over. The other housekeepers in the group were equally attentive. Alan, Maike would send reminders for breakfast, remind me to collect the complimentary soup, and make sure I didn’t miss the little experiences and benefits included with my stay. I was actually surprised by how many complimentary treats and services were included with the booking, together with the photoshoot. These thoughtful extras really added value and made me feel very well taken care of throughout my stay. Upon arrival, my room was randomly assigned among the cabin rooms and wasn’t the particular cabin with the wooden gate that I had been hoping for. Nevertheless, the room was beautiful and the view was already superb. I mentioned my preference to Maike, and this became one of the highlights of my stay — I received a complimentary upgrade to exactly the room I wanted! 🥹 I was so happy and genuinely grateful that they took my request seriously and made the effort to accommodate me. And then there is the location itself — absolutely breathtaking. Waking up surrounded by mountains and vast green grassland felt almost unreal. You don’t even need to rush out sightseeing because there is already so much to enjoy around the property. You can feed the animals, wander around the grassland, take beautiful photos, or simply sit and enjoy the scenery. There is also a lovely cabin café where you can relax while taking in the surroundings. What impressed me most was how Lisiman combines beautiful accommodation and incredible scenery with genuinely attentive hospitality. The team doesn’t just provide a room; they make sure you are comfortable and actually get to enjoy everything included in your stay. For an international solo traveller who speaks very little Chinese, I felt very comfortable and well looked after here. Thank you especially to Maike and all the housekeepers for making everything so easy for me. My only regret is that I stayed for just one night. I definitely should have stayed longer. ❤️ If I return to Shangri-La, Lisiman will absolutely be somewhere I would love to stay again."

"The free shuttle service to/from the airport/station was excellent. The young man driving was very diligent and proactively helped with our luggage. **Environment:** The ******* aesthetic lived up to its name. The lobby on the first floor was filled with fresh flowers, a testament to the owner, a refined man who loves flowers. **Cleanliness:** It was exceptionally clean, truly. I also want to praise the two ladies who prepared breakfast. While not overly lavish, it was spotlessly clean, hygienic, and although the variety was simple, the taste was far from it. This guesthouse is filled with friendly smiles; whenever you look up, you're met with a gentle, welcoming face."

"Hotel is within the old town. Didi can drop and pick up exactly in front of the hotel. The room layout is same as advertised. No lift or escalator, only stairs. There is a heater on the bed. Will not feel too cold when sleep at night because the bed gets warmer. At night can see a nice view of dukezong old town. A few Qing Zheng Shi Pin restaurants also nearby. North Gate a little bit far from the hotel almost 1km. Usually, north Gate is the meeting pick up point for any day trip purchased. Overall is good."

"This hotel is very good. It is near Dafo Temple and can walk around 10 mins only. Also, we really appreciated and impressed the services of owner that not only provide welcome fruit and cookies but also help and advise us for the first day when arrived how to take care ourselves as it is very high location. They have very excellent service mind absolutely. Amenities inside room are really good and perfect. Furthermore this hotel provided round trip of transportation from Shangri-La railway station to hotel by free of charges. The room price is absolutely cheap compare what they provided and serviced. If we come back to Shangri-la again in future, we will book this hotel surely."

"This was not a very comfortable place to spend four nights; here is a list of the pros and cons. Pros: 1) The location at the edge of the old town is great - it's a short walk to the main sights. 2) The view over the city at night is nice. 3) The bedding that was provided was cozy and warm. Cons: 1) The location was hard to find (Amap doesn't have it marked correctly) and to get to with luggage (taxis cannot drive close to it, so I was dropped off several hundred meters away and had to walk uphill over cobblestones). 2) The shower drain is not in the lowest part of the floor, so after a shower the bathroom floor turns into a lake (and if you don't remove the drain cover before showering, it's an even bigger lake!). Because I wanted the floor to dry out within the next day, I spent several minutes kicking the water towards the drain after each shower. 3) The water in both the shower and the sink was either cold or burning hot most of the time - it was usually not possible to get it to stay at a warm temperature for very long. 4) The room was cold at night and in the morning (there is an electric blanket on the bed, but the room itself is not heated). 5) The ”disposable” towel was thin and not very satisfying to towel off with (particularly after a cold, drafty shower followed by five minutes of kicking water towards the drain). 6) The mattress was very hard (it felt like a board with a blanket on top). 7) When I arrived the host said to send any questions through WeChat, but it took many hours for him to see the messages I sent. In one case, this caused me a substantial problem (to his credit, he apologized and also paid for a Didi to the train station when I left). 8) Late in my stay the host offered me a ”free gift” if I left a five-star review (I really dislike it when hosts try to bribe guests to leave perfect reviews, since that undermines the value of the reviews for other guests - so I said no, if I leave a review it will be an honest one)."

"Check-in was smooth, and I received a complimentary upgrade to an oxygen room with a disposable oxygen tube. The lobby has a self-service coffee machine and a gym. The room came with a projector and an AI speaker (Xiao Du). Overall, my stay was great, with the exception of the breakfast, which was really disappointing. The breakfast staff had terrible attitudes. The food selection was poor, and items weren't refilled promptly when they ran out; some weren't even heated. When I asked a server where the coffee cups were, she just told me to find them myself and suggested I use a bowl if there were no cups left. This is the first time a hotel has ever told me to drink coffee out of a bowl!"

"I originally booked a standard room, but the owner upgraded me for free when I arrived – a huge thank you to them! The entire courtyard environment is incredibly comfortable, and the sky is so blue, making it perfect for photos. The room's decor is simple and clean, with a huge floor-to-ceiling window that provides excellent light and ventilation. The bedding is so soft and relaxing to lie on, and it even has a projector, which was perfect for watching movies at night. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, with a smart toilet and a great shower – all the amenities are complete. The cleanliness was spot-on, with not a speck of dust on the floors or countertops. There are several seating areas in the public spaces with comfy sofas and chairs, great for just relaxing or getting some work done. I had such a comfortable stay here in Shangri-La. The owner is very thoughtful, the environment is quiet and peaceful, and the facilities are new and complete, offering incredible value for money. There's even a parking lot and EV charging stations. "Where do I even begin? My overall experience was simply fantastic. Let's start with the courtyard. The entrance has a rustic charm, and the whole courtyard feels elegant and serene. It's clear the owner converted their own home into this guesthouse. There are so many beautiful flowers and plants thriving in the yard, especially a cluster of multi-petaled roses. You can tell the owner has a real passion for life. There are also several cats and two sheep in the courtyard; one of the blue cats has gotten quite chunky and is absolutely adorable! The place feels so lively, and there's a strong sense of local ethnic culture, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The owner contacted us in advance about pick-up and drop-off. The young man who picked us up was very kind – I think he's the owner's son. He reached out to us beforehand and even helped with our luggage. Because the guesthouse isn't on the main street, it's very quiet and perfect for relaxing (though it's still very close to the main street, just a short walk away). Then there's the important part: the room. Since it was the off-season, the guesthouse was pretty quiet, and the owner let us choose our own room. The room has an overall wooden structure, and the decor has a strong, beautiful ******* feel. It was spotlessly clean and tidy, equipped with an oxygen concentrator and a humidifier. In winter, there's underfloor heating and electric blankets – everything you could possibly need. All toiletries were also provided. Next up, breakfast. The owner herself cooked millet porridge, steamed buns, and eggs, along with some side dishes. The matsutake mushroom and meat sauce were especially delicious! They went perfectly with the meal. Now, about the owner's family – they are all incredibly warm and friendly. Chatting with them, you realize they're genuinely kind people. They even gave us recommendations for attractions and tips for our visit. If we came back late and saw the owner, she'd always greet us with a few kind words. Although we only stayed for a short two days, we felt a real sense of belonging. Words can't fully express it, but I'll definitely recommend this place if I come back to Shangri-La or if any friends visit. Finally, I wish the owner lasting joy and health, and a thriving business."

"Of all the places we stayed in Shangri-La, Qi Yu Xiaoyuan was by far the most pleasant surprise. It's truly the best value for money in Dukezong Ancient Town. The owner's attentive care made our whole experience absolutely perfect! **I. Outstanding Service – The Owner's Warmth and Attention to Detail Exceeded All Expectations** 1. As soon as we arrived at the ancient town bus station, the owner personally came to pick us up and helped carry our luggage back to the guesthouse. This saved us from dragging our suitcases over the cobblestone streets, which was incredibly thoughtful. During check-in, they even offered a free room upgrade, which was a wonderful surprise! The room was spacious and had excellent natural light. 2. Fresh fruit was delivered to our room daily throughout our stay – such a thoughtful touch! The owner also helped us book tickets for major attractions like Pudacuo National Park and Songzanlin Monastery. They even recommended off-the-beaten-path routes favored by locals, giving us clear tips on how to avoid tourist traps. 3. I unfortunately caught a cold during our trip. When I mentioned the room felt a bit chilly at night, the owner immediately brought over a small heater and checked in on my well-being constantly. It was incredibly heartwarming. The room also came with an oxygen supply, which is a lifesaver for travelers prone to altitude sickness or headaches from drafts. I slept soundly without any discomfort or feeling short of breath. 4. The attentive service continued throughout our entire trip. On the morning of our departure, as we had an early high-speed train, the owner drove us to the station. This saved us the hassle of finding a taxi and navigating, and we were genuinely sad to say goodbye. **II. Excellent Location, Stress-Free Travel** The guesthouse is right next to the East Gate of Dukezong Ancient Town, just a 3-5 minute walk to Guishan Park and the Giant Prayer Wheel. Exploring the ancient town and trying local snacks is right on your doorstep. The shuttle bus stop for Pudacuo National Park is also very close, making transportation extremely convenient. Whether you're exploring the ancient town or heading to a scenic spot, you won't have to go out of your way. Returning to the guesthouse in the mornings and evenings is also quiet and peaceful. **III. Comfortable and Well-Equipped Rooms – The Top Choice for High-Altitude Stays** 1. A major bonus point: The guesthouse has its own elevator! Most guesthouses in the ancient town require climbing stairs. With the large amount of luggage and outdoor gear we had, having an elevator meant no strenuous hauling, which is incredibly friendly for travelers with lots of luggage or limited physical strength. 2. The bedding was soft and clean, and memory foam pillows were provided. Lying down after a day of hiking truly relieved our fatigue, and we slept exceptionally well. A full set of toiletries was provided, and the bathroom was spotless with a separate wet and dry area. 3. The whole-house oxygen supply is the biggest plus. Shangri-La has a high altitude, and having oxygen in the room effectively alleviates dizziness and chest tightness, making it very altitude-sickness friendly. 4. Laundry facilities are excellent, with a washing machine and dryer available in the common area. For long trips, this means dirty clothes can be quickly dried, so you don't have to carry damp clothes around, which is very convenient for travelers. **Summary** From the facilities and location to the owner's meticulous and heartwarming service, there's absolutely nothing to fault. With its own elevator, whole-house oxygen, dryer for laundry, and pickup/drop-off service, if I ever return to Shangri-La, I will definitely choose Qi Yu Xiaoyuan again. I wholeheartedly recommend it to all friends visiting Dukezong Ancient Town!"
