Guest UserMixed feelings. Great location and lovely staff! But we had a room where the TV wasnât working. First night they told us they can only fix it the next day. Then the next day they said they can only do it the next day again. Plus this was after my multiple phone calls, it seemed that the maintenance team just ignored us. And the reception offered a 20% discount on room services as apologies for the long wait. In the end as they canât do anything, I asked if we could change room. So we got a new room⌠with a half working tv⌠but with broken aircon⌠we called reception and was told they can control it from their end. Still not working. So we went out for dinner and asked them to check it out. When we returned, there were technicians in our room fixing the air conditioner. And we sat around outside for an hour before it was fixed. In the end, after hassling the whole day we finally had a working room at 9pmâŚ
All the staff were very polite and tried hard to resolve the issue. But I feel everything in a room should be working before guests check in. alternatively we did ask to change room again but not sure why that wasnât considered but instead they want to keep us waiting around for another hour in the lobby.

Guest UserI had a wonderful stay at SwissĂ´tel Almaty. Everything was excellent - the rooms, service, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere of the hotel.
A special highlight was the spa area, which is one of the best I have experienced. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge.
I would also like to give a special thank you to Elena, the yoga instructor. Her class was professional, inspiring, and suitable for all levels. It was a great way to start the day and added a lot to my overall experience at the hotel.
Thank you to the entire SwissĂ´tel team for a fantastic stay. I will be happy to return in the future.

Guest UserThe front desk service was excellent, the environment was beautiful, and it was close to all the attractions. It was quiet and convenient, and had a swimming pool, sauna, and massage facilities. We even encountered someone playing the piano in the lobby in the afternoon.

The hotel wasn't crowded and the room was spacious, so we had a comfortable stay.
They promptly handled even our minor requests, and all the staff were friendly. All the food prepared for breakfast was excellent because the ingredients were fresh; the fruit was especially tasty, and the omelets were so good that we ordered them every morning.

Novotel Almaty City Centre Hotel.
Set in the heart of Almaty City, a few hundred feet from the iconic Soviet era Khazakstan Hotel and 20 to 30 minutes from Almaty Airport, this Novotel is modern, clean and with all the usual, essential amenities.
Only one main downside is the room aircon is set by the hotel during winter months to run warm. It cannot be adjusted in the room so it became too hot and stuffy. We had to call an engineer who just unlocked the window security lock and we had to have the window wide open through the night allowing all the street noise below to echo into the room.
A pleasant stay for a few nights if travelling onwards, but a bit pricey at ÂŁ170.00 pounds sterling a night for two people!

Guest UserOverall, it was great. You can't go wrong staying here. There are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The staff are also incredibly hospitable. Laundry at the hotel is expensive, so I used the dry cleaning service inside the supermarket before Green Bazaar. They washed, dried, and folded my clothes in two hours for 6000 tenge. Highly recommended.

Guest UserBooked this hotel because it was near to the airport, and being only 20 minutes away made for a great stopover between flights.
That said, the hotel itself has plenty to offer. The rooms are nice and clean. We actually had an issue where we had too much hot water which is sort of the opposite problem of what you'd expect. The staff were friendly and helpful. They also had plenty of water coolers around to refill bottles, which is a nice touch not all hotels would offer. We didn't use the pool, but we saw that it was large and plenty of people were using it. Breakfast was simple, but did enough to cover all the bases.
All in all, would recommend a stay here. Especially if you're looking for somewhere near the airport to crash.

IreneaileenliThe hotel is quite close to the airport, but still takes around 15 mins by taxi. Close to a shopping mall and bus stop. There are hostel rooms and the issue with the hostel is there's only one key for the dorm's door. And the shower booth has no lock, it's only a glass door, so each time someone showers they most likely would lock the main door and so no one can use the toilets at the same time. There's a microwave and a fridge. Breakfast is included and it's generous enough for this price. If you want to experience a more local area then I'd recommend it. Otherwise might as well stay in the city centre since the taxi ride would cost more or less the same time and money to and from the airport.

My stay at the Wyndham hotel was decent overall. The location was super convenient, making it easy to grab a bite or catch a taxi.
The room itself was a bit small and felt cramped. The hotel facilities were noticeably old, with outdated furniture and appliances that weren't particularly well-maintained.
However, there were some definite highlights. The breakfast spread was incredibly varied and tasty â I left feeling very satisfied. Plus, the hotel had a gym with all the basic equipment, which was great for a quick workout to unwind.
Overall, its strengths are the excellent location, the wide breakfast selection, and the gym. But if you're bothered by small rooms and old facilities, you might want to consider other options.
