"The Orchid Hotel is truly a fantastic place for a family vacation with kids. It boasts a massive swimming pool with water slides, all supervised by lifeguards. The children's area features a kids' pool and smaller slides, which kept my child entertained for half a day. They absolutely loved playing in the water! The hotel is also very close to Karon Beach, just a short walk away. However, be aware that water activities like parasailing and jet skiing at Karon Beach are significantly more expensive than those at Patong Beach. On a side note, the massage parlors around here are really good and relaxing."

"Before my trip, I did some research and indeed saw some negative reviews online. However, several friends and family members who stayed here a few years ago all had positive things to say, so I ultimately chose this hotel. My actual experience was better and more consistent than expected. The front desk staff were friendly and patient; I didn't encounter any of the attitude problems mentioned in other reviews. The room itself didn't have any noticeable dampness or musty smells. There was a faint pleasant scent upon entering, which shows the hotel puts extra effort into air quality management. Phuket's climate is inherently humid, so a slight feeling of dampness is normal. The front desk even had a written notice advising guests not to leave the balcony door open for too long and to maintain the air conditioning temperature. Overall, the hotel has a resort-like atmosphere with lush greenery and a relaxing vibe. There's a wide variety of dining options, so you can easily have all your meals on-site. The water park isn't huge, but it's more than enough for kids (and a bigger one would just make parents tired). If I had to suggest one area for improvement, it would be that the air conditioning occasionally became noisy at night for short periods (it happened once on each of the two nights, lasting about ten to fifteen minutes before returning to normal). I'm not sure if this is specific to certain rooms; also, generally speaking, AC units in Thai hotels can often be a bit loud. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely consider staying here again if I come back to Phuket."

"The resort environment is pretty good. I was a bit worried at first because I saw a lot of negative reviews, but after checking in, the air conditioning wasn't cooling well on the first night. However, the engineering staff changed the filter the next day and completely fixed the issue. The soundproofing is excellent; even though there's a kids' pool and water slide right outside, there's no noise, it's very quiet. The breakfast selection is incredibly rich. The only minor issue was that the shower drain was a bit slow. I can understand why though; being so close to the beach, I brought back quite a bit of sand after swimming, so it makes sense why it might get clogged."

"This hotel exceeded our expectations! The room was spacious and comfortable. We booked a family room, and our kids had a blast in the water. Every staff member was incredibly nice. Having stayed in Patong before, which was lively but a bit noisy, we opted for this hotel near Nai Yang Beach this time with our family, seeking a quieter environment. Although it's a bit far from the beach, they offer a daily shuttle bus service. The upside is that we slept incredibly well because the hotel is so peaceful. On our last day, we were heading to Bangkok. After checking out in the afternoon, we visited the old town and then got caught in traffic on the way back, making our schedule very tight. However, the hotel's shuttle bus waited for us to return and then transported us to the airport. We are so grateful and incredibly satisfied with this hotel. We'll definitely bring our family back here again!"

"The rooms in this hotel are spacious, but the cleanliness inside the room isn't great. The towels felt really dirty and were quite grubby. The disposable toothbrushes were the shedding kind. There's a kids' playground and a pool, but the pool has a lot of stairs, so you need to be very careful as it's easy to get injured. I saw many children get hurt, including my own child who injured their foot. The breakfast also isn't very suitable for a Chinese palate. In terms of location, there's a 7-Eleven and a massage place right outside, and The Old Phuket is nearby. If you cross the road, there's a fruit stand on the right and then the beach. Frankly, putting aside the kids' slide and pool, this room is worth at most 200. What I don't understand is why I was charged an extra 1050 THB when I booked a family room and was traveling with just one child."

"The hotel has two buildings. One faces Kata's main street diagonally, which is bustling with traffic, causing noise on both sides. Only the rooms at the inner end of this building are quiet. The other building has one side facing the street and the other facing the hotel garden, making it the only truly quiet section of the entire hotel. During peak season, we booked two rooms, and both were arranged facing the street. The staff's attitude was very firm, stating they couldn't guarantee room location and that no other rooms were available for exchange that day. I spent a long time at the front desk before finally getting a room facing the hotel's inner garden. This leads me to believe the hotel's room allocation isn't very friendly towards Chinese guests. Breakfast, for this price range, was decent, with a good variety and frequent replenishment. The hotel features a yellow waterslide, which is quite large and offers good entertainment for children under ten. There's also a complimentary pool table. Beyond that, there aren't many other amenities. There's a smelly ditch running between the hotel garden and the pool, which was quite unpleasant and negatively impacted the experience. However, the hotel's location in the heart of Kata is very convenient for dining out, visiting the night market, and getting massages. Considering all of the above, I do not recommend this hotel."

"The environment here is great, and it's very close to Kata Beach, just a few hundred meters away. The sand is incredibly fine and clean, and the seawater is crystal clear. The beachside stalls sell fruit at very fair prices; a large chilled young coconut is 60 baht, and a plate of cut fruit is 90 baht. You can easily spend an entire afternoon there. The service is excellent everywhere, from the hotel rooms and restaurant to the beach stalls. During Chinese New Year, the hotel even had special Chinese-themed performances, and the menu was thoughtfully designed to cater to Chinese customs. Absolutely perfect, can't fault it!"
