Taichung Hotels with Balcony

"This hotel has great potential with proper planning. Pros: - Affordable price. - Excellent location, very close to Taichung Railway Station Exit 3, less than a five-minute walk. Across the street is a department store, and there's a Watsons and convenience stores nearby. - Seems like a newly opened hotel; the decor is very new. - Front desk staff have a good service attitude. Cons: - I stayed in a single room on the sixth floor. As soon as I opened the bathroom door, there was a strong sewage smell. It seems to be an inherent smell from the pipes that couldn't be removed. - The bathroom is designed as an accessible space and comes with a seat, which is a good intention. However, the showerhead holder is only at waist level. It would be great if there was an additional holder higher up for convenience. - The air conditioning in the single room blows directly onto your head. - There's a table and TV at the foot of the bed, but no chair available. - Poor soundproofing. The front desk is on the sixth floor. The ground floor entrance is in a small alley, and the lighting is still sufficient at night. However, the main door is 'automatic' sensor-activated. During the day (7:00 AM - 11:00 PM), anyone can enter. There's no staff management on the first floor after entering, just the elevator. You don't need a key card to access any floor in the elevator. Once the main door opens, it opens completely, and the closing process is very, very slow. You can't push it or close it manually. It takes at least five seconds or more to close once opened. As a solo traveler, I had safety concerns. I hope the hotel can adjust the opening/closing duration to be more flexible, or allow manual opening/closing of the door."

"Staff are polite and ready to assist. Easy luggage storage and check in. Room facilities are basic, but the bed is comfortable and plenty of hot water for a relaxing shower. However the showerhead was difficult to position and the tub is small so water sprayed everywhere on the floor. Free water bottles are provided. There could be more hooks installed for hanging clothes or personal toiletries. The bedsheets/pillowcases were discolored but not sure if this is related to hygiene or just the bedsheet style/color. They felt clean and didn’t find any weird objects except for some hairs on the pillowcases (the staff helped us replace them)."

"After checking in, I encountered an issue, and the front desk staff were friendly and actively sought solutions, which they handled promptly. The environment was also good. It's a self-check-in and check-out system. The soundproofing is a bit average, but for a first stay, it was acceptable."

"The breakfast selection was extensive, though it required staggered meal times during peak occupancy, but it was really delicious. The room was spacious, with two sofa beds in addition to the main bed. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, plus a bathtub. There was also a desk and a small dining table. The TV had internet connectivity, so you could watch YouTube and Netflix. On the second floor, they offered: (free) nude hot springs, a mini-bar, and a ball pit for kids; you could also reserve (paid) KTV and a hot stone spa."

"The hotel is very conveniently situated. Nearby got many food and convenient shops. The super famous fried chicken located behind the hotel which we got to try it during off peak hour after checking in (no need to queue at all!). We were there around 2pm and the room was ready for check in. The hotel design is dated but room is big and clean. We’re happy with the stay overall."
