Great
MMarino FraninovicSome places you visit, and some places stay with you. The Ritz-Carlton in Vienna is one of those places. Every detail, every smile, every moment here has a soul. And then… the kitchen. I was so blown away that I had to ask who was behind it all. That’s how I learned about Thomas and Lukas – the masterminds leading a team that creates pure culinary magic. I had to capture the moment because this wasn’t just a meal – it was a gastronomic journey that’s hard to describe and even harder to forget. If perfection exists, this must be it.

Great
IIshaDWhen we arrived, the first thing we noticed was a towel with hair on it, which immediately set a poor impression of cleanliness. The dust filter in the toilet room was also completely matted with dust to the point that it was not functional.
On top of that, the air conditioning situation was very frustrating. On warmer days, I would wake up drenched in sweat, only to be told by reception that the AC only operates when the outside temperature falls above 23 degrees; a very odd and impractical system for guests’ comfort. Highly misleading as well for what the hotel advertises.
While I will say the staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed clarification, these issues significantly spoiled the overall experience. For the price and expectations, I felt let down and wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
--Nancy-Austria Trend Hotel Schönbrunn Wien was absolutely gorgeous. The ambience was warm and inviting, and its location—right in front of Schönbrunn Palace—made it a wonderful choice for those visiting the palace. There were plenty of nearby shops and cafes, which added to the convenience.
However, if you’re planning to do sightseeing in the main city, transportation is something to consider. You’d either need to take a taxi (about 15–20 minutes) or a tram (around 45 minutes). So, while this hotel is perfect for a Schönbrunn-focused stay, it might not be the most convenient base for exploring the entire city.
The staff were friendly, but one issue stood out—housekeeping. On our morning of departure, cleaning staff knocked on our door around 10–11 AM, seemingly checking when we would be leaving. Since checkout was at 12 noon, it felt like they were unnecessarily rushing us, which was a bit frustrating.
Another concern arose after checkout. We left our luggage near the baggage room at reception to explore more, and upon returning, the staff couldn’t locate our bags—even though we had the receipt given by the staff when we dropped them off. Instead, we were asked to search through the luggage ourselves in a room full of other guests’ belongings. This didn’t feel very secure, as it seemed possible for someone to mistakenly—or even intentionally—take another person’s bags. Better monitoring or improved staff training in this area would certainly enhance the experience.
Despite these issues, the hotel was lovely, and the staff were welcoming overall. With a few improvements in housekeeping procedures and baggage storage security, this could be an even better place to stay.
EEgor KrombergOur stay at SO/ Vienna was excellent. The room was spotless and serviced daily, ensuring a consistently comfortable experience. The breakfast was outstanding - both in quality and variety - and accompanied by a stunning panoramic view of Vienna. We were particularly impressed by the view from our 14th-floor room, overlooking the city center, which we enjoyed without any additional charge. The option to select a preferred pillow type was also a thoughtful and appreciated detail.
There are only a couple of minor points for improvement: the room could benefit from additional lighting, and the staff checking room numbers at breakfast might consider streamlining the seating process to reduce waiting times.

GGuest UserHotel location is very good, but the environment is quiet. Close to the attractions, the nearby tram No. 2 is enough to cover the old town, and there are supermarket restaurants nearby. The service is also very good, very warm, and responds to the demand in a timely manner. In addition to the room is slightly smaller, but the bathroom is large enough.

BBrandyhuaThe hotel is very conveniently located near Schönbrunn Palace. It was exceptionally clean, and although the rooms were a bit compact, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. The service was excellent, and the breakfast spread was plentiful. I was very satisfied and look forward to staying here again.

JjacobaileyFor a hotel that's 50 years old, it's surprisingly well-maintained.
**Pros:**
* It's clean and hygienic.
* The location is excellent, with most main attractions accessible within a 15-20 minute walk.
* A Sixt car rental office is conveniently located inside the hotel.
**Cons:**
* The room quality, by Chinese standards, is closer to a 4-star hotel, certainly not 5-star.
* While most of the staff were pleasant, there were a few individuals who were exceptionally arrogant and rude. For instance, when we arrived at 9 PM and inquired about parking at the front desk, a black-haired female staff member was incredibly dismissive and impatient 🙄.
* We also had to wait 20 minutes for our room key, as they claimed their system had crashed.
* I booked a king-size room via Ctrip, specifically requesting a quiet, high-floor room, but was assigned a ground-floor room with absolutely no view.
* Despite my booking, an additional 30 Euros was charged upon check-in.
* Hotels in Austria are generally reasonably priced, and for the same cost, I wouldn't recommend this one.
* The hotel was noticeably crowded with Indian guests.

VVerified Member🏨🚇🥐🧼🏙️ I think the hotel is in a very well-connected area. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the main bus and train terminal and just a short metro ride into Old Town for all your sightseeing needs.
The room was spacious with solid housekeeping and a clean, well-kept bathroom. No complaints regarding cleanliness — everything was taken care of. One thing to note is that the hotel is massive. We were given the very last room at the end of a long corridor, which meant it took nearly five minutes to walk to the elevator. So when you check in, I recommend asking for a room closer to the elevator, otherwise it can be a bit of a hassle going back and forth.
Something that left a bad taste was only being told at checkout that breakfast would be charged as an extra. My honest tip is that if you do decide to have breakfast, just don’t mention it. With the number of guests they manage, it’s unlikely they’ll track who actually showed up at the buffet. The breakfast itself was average — your typical hotel spread. The eggs tasted a bit off, but I made it work with multiple cappuccinos from the machine, plus some sausages and toast to fill up.
Overall, nothing fancy, but probably great value considering how expensive Vienna can be. Most importantly, the hotel is very well connected to public transit, with a metro station just a five-minute walk away. That line has frequent trains to and from Old Town, which made sightseeing super convenient.
I’ll probably stay here again, though I don’t think the breakfast is worth the price, and I do wish they had been more upfront about the cost from the beginning.

XXinglinccOn a motorcycle trip through Europe, I passed through Vienna and found a hotel that offered great value for money. Since I was traveling solo, I kept things simple. The cleanliness was good, and the service was exceptionally friendly! The front desk staff spoke fluent English and, surprisingly, even quite a bit of Chinese, which made them incredibly welcoming! I wasn't aware the hotel had parking, so my motorcycle unfortunately got a ticket. The front desk was incredibly helpful and enthusiastically guided me on how to deal with it. A huge thank you to them! There's no air conditioning, but they provided a portable air cooler. It was a little noisy, but it definitely kept the room cool!
