Excellent hotel for business trips (9/10)! The hotel boasts a beautiful environment, perched on a small hill surrounded by ponds. I particularly enjoyed the gym on the 8th floor and the large pool area. Working out there, with views of the water and forest, made exercising feel effortless. The French Grill on the first floor is also of very high standard!

Don’t waste your time looking anywhere else in Hanoi—just book Classyc! My husband and I travel quite frequently, and we can confidently say this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, every detail felt thoughtful, warm, and genuinely exceptional. We initially booked the Grand Suite for 3 days and 2 nights before heading off on a Ha Long Bay cruise, then returned to Classyc for the remainder of our stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with cold towels, welcome drinks, and snacks—such a refreshing and thoughtful touch after traveling. The service throughout our stay was impeccable. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always going above and beyond. Arthur personally escorted us to our room and even checked in with us later that evening via message to ensure everything was perfect. We were also welcomed with chocolates in the room, which made the experience feel even more personal. It’s the little touches that truly set this hotel apart. We received complimentary wine vouchers, spa discounts, and consistently warm, attentive service at every interaction. When we returned from Ha Long Bay, it genuinely felt like we were coming home. Walking into our new room to find a heart-shaped chocolate mousse cake and a handwritten welcome-back note from the team was such a thoughtful and memorable surprise There was also a moment that really reflected the hotel’s integrity and commitment to guest satisfaction. We had booked a signature spa package, not realizing it wasn’t included in the 20% discount promotion. While we didn’t raise any concerns, the staff proactively followed up the next day at breakfast, apologized for the confusion, and extended the discount to us anyway. We were genuinely touched by this gesture—it spoke volumes about how much they care about their guests’ experience. On our final day, we had some time to spare before our flight. After exploring the city, we returned to the hotel and the staff kindly offered us access to the spa facilities so we could freshen up before heading to the airport—an incredibly thoughtful and appreciated gesture. They also arranged a luxury transfer for us, complete with comfortable seats and even a massage function, which made the journey that much more enjoyable! As we were leaving, one of the staff members surprised us with a beautiful ceramic wind chime symbolizing positive energy and good luck. It was such a meaningful and heartfelt farewell, and a perfect end to an already unforgettable stay. A few additional highlights worth mentioning: - A great breakfast spread with plenty of variety - A lovely rooftop pool area to unwind - Reno Bar downstairs, which became one of our favorite spots in Hanoi—fantastic cocktails, delicious bar snacks, a cool retro vibe, and great music. During our visit with some friends they even surprised us with a complimentary tray of shots! Classyc is more than just a hotel—it’s an experience defined by genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and heartfelt service. We’re already looking forward to our next trip to Hanoi, just so we can stay here again!

We stayed at hotel chateau de hanoi for 2 nights and overall, it was an under-average experience. For its price (pre-discount and considering we were in Vietnam) it might not be that worth it. We booked the hotel because of its high-rated reviews and its branding as a 5 star boutique hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted with welcome drinks and the staff was friendly. We arrived hanoi quite early, so we asked if we could do an early check-in. We were informed by the staff that an early check-in was not impossible, but there was an extra charge. It was however totally understandable that the hotel has their arrangements so we went along with the regular check-in time, but the staff quite passive aggressively told us that they informed us on WhatsApp— we were on a flight and later on a Grab to the hotel so we were unable to read the message entirely. I would expect a 5-star service to be more understanding. To be very honest, I would doubt if the hotel qualifies to be categorized into a 5-star hotel. Of course, the hotel provides customers with all the necessary amenities like toothbrush and shaving kits, but the hotel room didn’t have a window and lighting was insufficient. There was a bathtub, but there was no proper standing shower and it was just a shower head next to the toilet without curtains or doors. The twin bed was extremely small and too easy to be moved around (in a sense that if I wanted to sit at the edge of bed, the mattress would slide to that side). Hygiene was fine but some areas such as the wall and the bathing area could be improved. We ran out of tissue paper in the room as well but after housekeeping the box was still empty and not replaced with a new box of tissue. Soundproofing at the hotel was not solid since we could constantly hear noises from next door during midnight. In our booking package free breakfast was included, so we checked it out in the morning. A small buffet was provided, but the plates and utensils had oil on them. There was a set menu, but the scrambled eggs were not up to par and the pho was okay. Considering the hotel brands itself as a 5-star hotel, I would expect better hygiene and quality check. Location-wise, the hotel is located at the heart of Old Quarter. It is convenient but this also means traffic can get very hectic nearby. Moreover we realized the staff was getting less and less friendly as we reached the end of our stay. It would be nice if their attitude and service could be more consistent, again, given it is a 5-star hotel.

I had a great stay at Bespoke Trendy Hotel. We arrived early and were pleasantly surprised that the hotel allowed us to check in before the standard check-in time. Initially, we were assigned a King Bed room, but we had requested two single beds. The staff handled our request professionally and arranged the beds while we were out, which we really appreciated. The location is excellent, making it convenient to explore the area. The breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke good English. As a thoughtful gesture, the hotel also gave us two tea bags upon check-out. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with great service, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi.

The hotel location is very perfect, and easy to go to anywhere in old quarter. I like stay in here cause easy to go to pub, eating place, spa, and so many shop and eateries in here. But the very important thing is cindy because she is friendly and care to us and to the people stay in here and every morning she come to breakfast area and coming to our table too in the breakfast time and asking what we need for breakfast and anything we need for breakfast and in the hotel and chit chat with us. Before we going to airport and she give us 2 gift of this coffee. All the staff in this hotel very help and friendly and room boy helps us to bring our luggage to lobby hotel. Only 1 things this hotel need to improve is the gym, cause the gym don't have many equipment for doing the gym. Everything is perfect, keep going with your service. We will come back again to this hotel when we come to hanoi again. Thanks you all staff and cindy and this hotel splendid premium hotel. 👍👍👍

This was a last-minute decision, staying one night in the city center. I chose a slightly better option near Hoan Kiem Lake, as it was my first time visiting Vietnam. What a pleasant surprise to check in without having to stand awkwardly at the front desk! Instead, I could comfortably sit, enjoy complimentary watermelon and drinks, while the staff processed everything. A very friendly and beautiful staff member even gave us a detailed English explanation of nearby attractions like the night market and Train Street – it was truly impressive, something even five-star hotels often don't offer! The room itself was a bit standard and the facilities were a little dated, but overall it was perfectly fine. It was also very convenient for going out to eat. The hotel breakfast was quite satisfying, with both Chinese and Western options. They’d even bring pho directly to your table after you ordered, and someone would come around to pour juice. Plus, they had my favorite passion fruit! There are a few steps at the entrance, and the staff were quick to help with our luggage. No wonder so many people love coming to Vietnam for vacation!

MAY DE VILLE Lakeside Hotel

Best overall value in Old Quarter – no construction noise, great breakfast and views with hospitable staff! After many hours researching 80+ five-star hotels in Hanoi, we finally chose May De Ville Lakeside for our own five-day stay and future family group tour. I visited other properties but it is well managed with a team of hospitality professionals. May De Ville Lakeside genuinely offers the best value for money we found. Why we loved it: • No construction noise or late-night parties, rare in the Old Quarter • Welcoming, multilingual staff that delivered genuine Vietnamese hospitality • Prime location, walkable but peaceful to the lake. Everything outside the front door, restaurants and shopping with a great in-house spa. • Scenic rooftop bar and a rooftop pool, perfect for relaxing before our late-night flight • Affordable spa indulgence • The buffet breakfast overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake was the best we had in a month of Asian travels with Mr. Richard readily topping up our coffee. Mrs. Hannah was most perceptive to resolve one issue but all staff are proactive to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests. Tips: * We initially booked a “Deluxe Internal Window” on first night which was suitable for short stay but moved to a Premier City View room for four nights that was great. But be careful: many of the cheaper “lead-in” rates are for rooms with only an internal window (no outside view). * Read the room features carefully before booking. Great sunset views from rooms ending in 07, 05 and 03 on west side. * Trust reviews from the booking platform you normally use and consider becoming a member for better benefits. Overall, this hotel ticks all the boxes. We would happily stay again and will return later this year with our large extended family of four generations. Only complaint was Price Match policy where we could have saved money to spend in the Rooftop Bar ;-(

Sen Grand Hotel & Spa Managed by Sen Group

8.9/10
Very Good

Standards for four-star hotels can vary significantly from one country or region to another, and this often leads to very different expectations for travelers who are familiar with the rating systems in their own countries. What is considered a four-star experience in China, for example, may not align perfectly with what you will find in Vietnam. With that in mind, the Sen Grand Hotel & Spa Managed by Sen Group in Hanoi offers a stay that I would describe as neither particularly impressive nor particularly disappointing—somewhere comfortably in the middle. The hotel does have a few positive points worth mentioning. One of the main advantages is its location. It is situated fairly close to a main road, making it convenient for guests who want quick access to transportation, nearby shops, and general city activity. This can be especially useful if you plan to explore Hanoi frequently or rely on ride-hailing services. Additionally, the area around the hotel has no shortage of dining options. You will find many restaurants and small eateries right at the doorstep, which makes it easy to grab a meal at almost any time without having to travel far. However, like many mid-range hotels in Southeast Asia, the Sen Grand Hotel & Spa does have some shortcomings. The most noticeable issue is the water pressure during showers. Guests who prefer strong water flow may find the shower experience somewhat underwhelming, especially during peak hours. While this is not a severe flaw, it does impact the overall comfort level of the stay and may be something to keep in mind if consistent hot water and strong pressure are important to you. Aside from the water pressure, there are no major defects or serious problems with the hotel. The rooms are generally clean, the basic amenities function as expected, and the service is acceptable for a hotel in this price range. It may not offer the refined details or higher-end comfort that travelers would expect from a four-star hotel in China, but it does provide a practical and reasonably comfortable place to stay if your expectations are aligned with local standards. In terms of atmosphere, the hotel strikes a balance between simplicity and functionality. It does not deliver a luxurious experience, but it also does not fall short in any critical area. For travelers who prioritize convenience, accessibility, and basic comfort over premium facilities, this hotel meets the needs sufficiently. Overall, if you have alternative choices, you may consider comparing your options, especially if you are looking for amenities that match Chinese four-star standards more closely. However, if your choices are limited or you simply need a decent, reliable place to stay in Hanoi without major concerns, the Sen Grand Hotel & Spa is a reasonable option. It offers a straightforward experience that fulfills the essential requirements of a short or medium-length stay.

This hotel has both prominent pros and cons. The room offers a great view, it has a smart toilet, the rooftop infinity pool is fantastic, and the gym is pretty good. Breakfast is also varied and ample. However, the downside is that it gets very crowded, and the cleanliness is only so-so.

The room decor is a bit dated, but it's well-maintained. The twin room felt a bit small because of the beds, and I was slightly disappointed there was no bathtub, as previous stays at this hotel always had one. This is a standard large hotel, featuring a swimming pool, gym, and spa. The buffet restaurant also meets typical large hotel standards, offering a rich variety of Western, Japanese, and Vietnamese cuisine. I've always been very satisfied.
