Hong Kong Hotels with Breakfast

★★★★☆ Great Location & Spacious Rooms, but Some Amenities Need an Upgrade The location is definitely the biggest strength of Royal Plaza Hotel Hong Kong. I would give it 5 stars for convenience—it is directly connected to MOKO, which makes it extremely convenient for last-minute shopping, dining and picking up anything you may need. It is also just a short walk from Mong Kok East MTR Station, making it easy to get around Hong Kong. The room was surprisingly spacious by Hong Kong standards, which was a definite plus for our family. I had accidentally selected the wrong room type when making the booking, but the hotel staff were prompt and helpful when I requested to change from the upgraded King Bed room to a room with two double beds. As the family rooms were already fully booked, they arranged a handicap-accessible room for us instead. It was actually more spacious, so while it wasn't the room type I had originally intended to book, we appreciated the effort to accommodate our needs. That said, some of the in-room amenities could use an upgrade. In particular, the hairdryer really needs replacing. It became extremely hot very quickly and was uncomfortable to use—I was concerned it might damage or burn my hair. Overall, I found the hotel comfortable, convenient and well located, with good service and generous room space for Hong Kong. However, having stayed five nights at Intercity Hotel Shenzhen immediately before this, I found Royal Plaza to be a step down in terms of the overall room experience and amenities. This is not to say that Royal Plaza is a poor choice—it is still a solid option, particularly if location, shopping convenience and room size are your priorities. Best for: Families, shoppers and travellers who value convenience and easy MTR access.

On the day of check-in, we arrived at the hotel in the morning and immediately told the front desk staff that we needed laundry service and wanted to hand over our clothes right away. It was 10 AM at the time, and the hotel front desk also charged me a credit card deposit of 6000 RMB. However, the front desk refused to accept our clothes for washing, stating that we were only staying for two nights, from September 7th to 9th. He claimed that it would be impossible to return our cleaned clothes by the 9th. The four of us took turns asking him if he could provide a specific time for the return of our clean clothes on the 9th, but he kept saying he didn't know the time and ultimately refused to take our laundry. That evening, we returned to the hotel at 10 PM and got our room key. Upon entering the room, we saw a notice about the laundry service, which clearly stated that clothes submitted before 9 AM would be returned the same evening, and clothes submitted after 9 AM would be returned the next day. We immediately called the front desk to complain and then went downstairs to speak with the so-called duty manager that night. He promised to give us a response regarding this matter the next day. It's now September 11th, and we have already checked out of the hotel, yet we still haven't received any explanation from the hotel. This service is absolutely outrageous!!!

Excellent service! 👍 Due to the typhoon that day, we were supposed to check out at 12:00 PM. However, the Typhoon Signal No. 8 wasn't lowered until 12:44 PM. The hotel helped us extend our check-out time to 2:00 PM. This is already our third stay here. We really love this hotel. Wishing the hotel great success in business!

It’s my second time at this hotel, I’m glad they renovated, not that the first time around was any bad but it’s a dated hotel so renovating it gave the room brighter lights. This time around we were given a bigger room. I could easily open up 3 luggages at one time. Hotel is very near the train station and there are plenty of bus stops that goes to the main attractions right outside. Walk about 5-10 minutes and there are plenty of good restaurants / cha sats to dine at. Overall I really enjoyed

After a long comparison, I finally settled on this hotel. It's super easy to find, just a one-minute walk from Yau Ma Tei Exit 1A. It's incredibly convenient for shopping, trying out local 'cha chaan tengs' (tea restaurants), and getting to Tsim Sha Tsui. The hotel has a unique retro Hong Kong artistic vibe, which is really charming. The rooms are clean, tidy, and spacious, and every room has a floor-to-ceiling window. Getting such a large room in a place where space is at such a premium is truly fantastic! The front desk service was friendly and efficient, and luggage storage was very convenient. I needed to pay a HKD 1000 deposit upon check-in, but I didn't have enough cash, and the front desk staff handled it wonderfully – there was absolutely no discriminatory treatment whatsoever. I stayed for two nights and will definitely prioritize staying here again on my next trip to Hong Kong!

There's a simple gym available for workouts, but it's windowless and a bit enclosed. The hotel is super close to the subway station, right across from the main entrance, making getting around incredibly convenient. Plus, there are plenty of malls nearby for dining and shopping. I've been staying here for a long time and am still here because it offers excellent value for money, so I keep extending my stay. However, the one thing I can't stand is how loud the air conditioning is in the room. The bathroom dehumidifier also runs 24/7 without stopping. If you're a light sleeper, definitely bring earplugs.

Facilities: Although a bit dated, all facilities are functional. There's a fridge, hairdryer, and kettle (if you forgot an adapter, check under the bedside lamp). There are three elevators plus one service lift; one was under maintenance during my stay. If it's busy, staff will let you use the employee service elevator, so you don't have to worry about long waits. Cleanliness: Decent. I stayed for three days and didn't see a single bug, nor any noticeable hair or stains. I'd recommend bringing your own bath and hand towels! The entire hotel is non-smoking, so there's no smoke smell at all, which is great for those sensitive to odors! Environment: Downstairs is a tram stop (ding ding tram) and a very reasonably priced small supermarket, making it convenient to buy water, snacks, or disposable items (the price of water wasn't as expensive as some online reviews suggested). Turn left when you exit for Causeway Bay MTR station, and right for Tin Hau MTR station – getting around is super convenient. Service: The staff were all very friendly and didn't treat mainland tourists any differently. Very good!

A rare find in Hong Kong, a triple room that was perfect for three adults and one child. The two single beds pushed together worked out great. The hotel overlooks the racecourse, but unfortunately there wasn't a race on during our stay. The shuttle bus to Causeway Bay MTR is super convenient, running every 30 minutes. We even got a gift upon check-in! I'd definitely choose this hotel again for my next stay.

The room facilities were a bit old, but the size wasn't small, and it was enough for three people. Plus, there was a free shuttle bus to the MTR station the next day. Although they didn't provide free drinking water, the purified water from the vending machine downstairs was only 3 HKD, which is already considered a good deal for water in Hong Kong. Overall, a positive experience!

If you're visiting Lantau Island, Mui Wo, or Silvermine Bay, I highly recommend this hotel. I came here after a day at Disneyland, and it took about 80 minutes to get here (the MTR is fast, but waiting for the bus at night can be tricky). First off, the hotel's location is excellent. It's far from the city's hustle and bustle, with its eastern side facing the sea. From a sea view room, you can open your eyes and watch the sunrise, enjoying the sun and beach. Silvermine Bay Beach is right outside, and Lantau Island is behind you, offering BBQ, fishing, and various water activities – you can play however you like! It's a 10-minute walk to Mui Wo Pier, where a 30-40 minute ferry ride takes you directly to Central and the Observation Wheel, essentially like taking the Star Ferry for a tour of Victoria Harbour. Secondly, the price is very friendly. Just make sure to book a room type that includes tax and breakfast. The value for money is clearly far superior to those crowded, noisy hotels with small beds and no breakfast in Tsim Sha Tsui or Central. And yes, the breakfast is quite good too. The only slight drawback is the charging situation. There are USB ports, but they can be unstable. However, even though there isn't an adapter, there's a vending machine that sells them. Special tip: Remember to bring a deposit (or a credit card for pre-authorization).
