Guest houses in Venice

We all absolutely lived it! The first impression is the super friendly staff. You have to climb quite some steps to reach the room (ard one floor of stairs? Not recommend if you have a lot of luggages) however the staff ran out and helped us to move most of the luggage's to our room. The check in time is actually quite flexible since we arrived at 1230 and the staff still allowed us to check in. The room is very spacious with clean toilets and bathroom, there are Shampoo and body washing separated and some to spare (since we ordered an extra bed in a double room) We are also very surprised about the extra bed because it is not an ordinary expandable sofa bed, but a normal bed. Apart from the nicest service we have ever received, the breakfast is also a highlight. There are tons of choices (sweets like milk pudding, croissant, fruits, normal breakfast like ham and bread) and you can order some specials from the menu. We did try their scrambled eggs and smoked salmon salad, absolutely spot on! It has to be the best breakfast I've ever had from hotel! The location of the hotel is very close to the train station, but quite some walk to piazza San Marco (ard 20 min if you didn't get lost) The hotel provide us a map so that we can find places easier, and turns out we did use this map way more than google map (Google map gets really inaccurate on the island), one service we like a lot again. Overall it's a very pleasant experience and we like the hotel very much! Definitely recommend!

La ubicación es ideal, se llega rápido caminando desde el bus del aeropuerto y a todos lados caminando. Hay bares alrededor y es una zona tranquila. Lo que podría mejorar son las instrucciones del check-in, ya que les contacté con bastante anticipación por la app para hacer el check-in y aún así tuve problemas al llegar. Lo bueno es que responden y solucionan rápido, debo destacar eso. La vista desde nuestra habitación era preciosa, daba a un pequeño patio. Recomiendo sin dudas

We’ve stayed in many hotels and apartments around the world, from tiny rooms to beautiful villas, and this was honestly our first experience like this. We arrived around 2:30 PM, right after check-in time. There is no elevator, but that’s completely understandable for an old Venetian building. We carried our luggage to the third floor, and while my wife was speaking with the host, we suddenly found out that the bathroom was shared with another room. This was a huge surprise for us because on Trip.com the booking clearly mentioned private facilities in the room and a shower. Only later did we realize that the bathroom was actually outside the room and shared between two rooms, with separate keys for the wooden bathroom door. The bathroom itself was clean and decent, but for us this completely changed the experience. We have never stayed in a place with a shared bathroom before, and finding this out only at check-in was very disappointing. Another frustrating point was the check-out policy. Check-out was at 10:00 AM, which we already knew from the booking, but honestly this was only the second time in my life I’ve seen such an early check-out time — and I’ve probably booked more than 200 hotels. I think the only earlier one I ever had was 9:30 AM. I genuinely do not understand why there needs to be a 4-hour gap between check-out and check-in for cleaning a room that does not even have a private bathroom. On top of that, the host said it was impossible to leave luggage after check-out because she had “negative experiences” before. So after an already disappointing stay, this just added another layer of inconvenience. Other downsides: * terrible pillows — sleeping felt like your head was at a 90-degree angle; * extremely poor sound insulation, you can hear literally every movement from other guests; * in the shower there was nothing except hand soap near the sink — no shampoo, no conditioner, no basic amenities. Positive points: * very good location; * the room itself was clean; * coffee was available in the room. Unfortunately, the bathroom situation completely overshadowed all the positives for us. Because of that, I would rate this place 2/5.

We stayed here for two nights as a couple. The white-based room was very clean, and there was no trash or items left by previous guests. The bathroom amenities were all there, so it was not a problem for a short stay. The shower had good hot water and did not get cold quickly, so even if you are used to Japanese showers, you could stay comfortably. I did not meet many staff members, but the woman at the reception was very kind and explained things to us in an easy-to-understand way, even though we do not speak much English! The location of the hotel itself is a little inconvenient, and if you do not use the water bus or gondola, you will have to walk quite a bit to get anywhere. The main tourist spot, St. Mark's Square, is particularly far away, and it took about 30 minutes for an adult to get there. However, there are many shops along the way, so if you are traveling with plenty of time, it will not be a problem. There are also restaurants and bars around the hotel, and a bakery and crepe shop about a 3-minute walk away. You will not have any trouble finding food, so I recommend not including breakfast and just strolling around. By the way, is there a police box in front of the hotel? There are also police officers watching day and night, so although it is far from the main area, the security is not bad. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay for the cost!

It's about 3 to 5 minutes from the station. It was very accessible and comfortable. You have to climb a few flights of stairs to get to the front desk, but there is an elevator. I arrived a little early so I asked if I could leave my luggage there, and they showed me straight to my room. I was so happy. Thank you. My room had its own private bath and toilet right in front of it, so it was convenient, but it may be inconvenient for those who live further away. It is very well cleaned. I was happy that the gargle cups were individually wrapped. This is a hotel that makes me want to stay again.

We arrived at the hotel on January 12th at 10:30 PM. The room was absolutely amazing and split over two levels. On the ground floor there was a bathroom and a separate shower. Everything was very beautiful, clean, and in perfect working condition. The shower did not leak at all, and there were no unpleasant smells. On the upper floor there was a bedroom with a large bed and an additional sofa. The room was equipped with a large Smart TV, a spacious wardrobe, a safe, and a hairdryer. We were also provided with two 0.5 L bottles of water. There was both a heater and air conditioning, and everything worked perfectly, so it was not cold at all. The location is excellent. It may look a bit confusing on the map at first, but we figured it out quickly. When you see the shop “Ca’ Macana Atelier”, turn immediately to the right. You will see an old public telephone, and between the buildings there is the hotel entrance (the hotel name is written on the door). All access codes worked without any problems. The interior of the hotel is very beautiful. The owner is a very kind and welcoming lady truly wonderful. She speaks English and cleans the rooms daily. If you prefer not to have your room cleaned, you can simply inform her or hang the sign on the door. The tourist tax is €3 per person per day. We absolutely loved everything. Out of all the places we have stayed in (priced between €20 and €60 per night), this hotel and room are without a doubt our number one favorite. Thank you so much. Location is easy to get to and right on the Grand Canal. Perfect for exploring the beauty of Venice. Service was generally helpful. Staff could have explained some elements in the room better. The room itself was disappointing. Very old fashioned and in need of major decoration. The first night only a sheet was provided and we were cold and did not sleep well. This was rectified for the second night. Our room faced a courtyard and was quiet, but quite dark. Overall disappointing for the price

We had a perfect stay at Granda Sweet suites! Having read some mixed reviews we weren’t sure how things were going to go, but our expectations were pleasantly exceeded!! Check in was easy, room was very clean with amenities in the bathroom and a coffee maker with pods! The common room was gorgeous with views of the canal - we sat here every day to enjoy the views by the window! Our checkout was perfect we left our luggage at the property until 3.30pm which we then came back to collect! Excellent stay at this hotel and would recommend to anyone! It is around 13 minutes walk to Rialto bridge - very easy!

It will be an inn where the evaluation is divided depending on the person. Since the apartment is rented in three separate rooms, the kitchen, toilet, and terrace are shared, so it was convenient to use it as we wanted during the time when there were not many people. There is no washing machine, but there is a drying area. The sheets and towels are clean, but you shouldn't expect fixed under the bed or under the sink. I think it depends on the time and the members staying.
