AAnonymous UserThis is a new hotel, and all its facilities are excellent and well-equipped, including a laundry room and a gym. The hotel service is very welcoming. Our favorite part was the breakfast buffet every morning! It was incredibly rich and offered a great variety. The new hotel's location is also fantastic, making it convenient for getting around. It's right next to CC Mall, so you can walk there directly. Plus, our room was set back from the main road, ensuring a quiet night's sleep. They even provided fresh fruit during our stay! Thank you! Highly recommended!

AAussie NikThis hotel is top quality. Worthy of 5 star standard. Just built in 2024, everything was brand new. Front desk receptionists were all so professional and hospitable. We felt so at home and comfortable that we stayed for 6nights. We were offered an abundant breakfast, evening tea and late supper. We had 70 inch tv with movie channels. There is a complementary laundry room. The Japanese style toilet was a bonus. Bus stop is across the road. Walking distance to Hong Shan Park, Peoples Park, Xinjiang Museum and Saybad Shopping district. Highly recommend any visitors to Urumqi to this wonderful hotel.

GGuest UserWhen I first saw the surroundings, I thought I'd booked the wrong hotel. But once inside, the decor was a pleasant surprise – truly a hidden gem! We had a wonderful service experience with my best friend. They even upgraded our room for free since I was with my younger brother. The room was incredibly spacious, and they tried their best to accommodate any requests we had, so the service was excellent. We had a very comfortable stay. The TV was huge, which was great for binge-watching shows with my friend. Water and other amenities were unlimited. Breakfast was also delicious. The front desk lady was always smiling and asking how our stay was, she was so friendly. I'll definitely book here again next time!
**Amenities:** The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation. There was thoughtful branded hand soap, and the hot water was excellent, making for a very comfortable shower.
**Cleanliness:** Very clean and tidy.
**Ambiance:** High-end. My best friend and I kept praising it.
**Service:** Fantastic! I'd book here again just for the service.

MM506009****The hotel boasts a great location and a wonderful environment—it's clean, comfortable, upscale, stylish, and tastefully designed, with smart home features throughout. The staff are incredibly warm and responsible, with very prompt service. Seeing that we were a family traveling with seniors and children, they even arranged an early check-in, which allowed the elderly and kids to rest and enjoy themselves thoroughly. We were very satisfied with our stay and definitely give it a five-star rating! Plus, there's an airport pick-up service, and the breakfast on the fourth floor is incredibly rich. It's conveniently located, not far from anything. The service was fantastic; they called ahead to ask about our accommodation needs and thoughtfully met all our requests. All the staff were polite and enthusiastic. Highly recommended!

SStAnastasiaMy friend and I stayed at the Tianyuan Hangyou Hotel during a layover in Urumqi, and it was the perfect choice for a short stay near the airport. The location is extremely convenient - just ~15 minutes away from the terminal, which made our transit hassle-free. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the airport, which was a great advantage.
Though the hotel could use minor renovations, the price-to-quality ratio is excellent. The room had all the essentials: slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste, a comb, a hairdryer, an electric kettle, cups, and bottled water. The Wi-Fi worked well, which was important for us to plan our day trip and order a taxi.
One of the highlights was the breakfast buffet, which offered a good variety of options. Even if you're not yet accustomed to Chinese cuisine, you can find simple choices like boiled eggs and mantou (steamed buns).
For sightseeing, the city center and main attractions (such as the Xinjiang Museum, Red Hill Park, the Grand Bazaar, and the mosque) are about 30 minutes away by taxi. We managed to explore all of them in a day. Nearby, there are also local markets, convenience stores, and small cafés for snacks and essentials.
Overall, if you need a comfortable, budget-friendly hotel close to Urumqi Airport with good service and decent amenities, Tianyuan Hangyou Hotel is a great option. Highly recommended for transit travelers!

IIcingcandyWe stayed at Urumqi Holiday Inn Express for a quick stop, as we were on our way to the next city in Xinjiang. We must commend the hotel on the late night snack (noodles and wonton/dumplings) provided to guests - even late comers like us.
Ms He at the concierge was particularly helpful, warm and friendly. We felt warmly received by the whole team, with welcoming gifts a platter of fruit and free soft drinks. The team also helped us on our transport to the station the next day, with short notice - we really appreciate it!
We thought the cleanliness and ventilation of our room could be improved, but we were only there for one night so didn’t know the house cleaning team.

RReanneGreat place to stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic but yummy. The gym was ok but needs a running machine. Room was clean and spacious, just needs to be updates. Overall a nice stay. I would recommend this place it’s only a 30 minute walk to the grand bazaar and loads for shops all around it.

GGuest UserHostel is about 5 - 7 minutes away from the ”Sports Centre” metro station, which is about 25+ minutes from the airport.
The hostel entrance is next to the Tesla shop, and you have to press the buzzer, for the security guard to open the gate for you.
Then, after writing your name down in the guest-book, you go up to the 10th floor in the lift.

The staff speak little to no English, but they are very helpful.
They will try to solve your issues, as long as you patient with the translation software.
Also, it is difficult for staff to check you in, if you do not have a contact number or Alipay/Wechat contact.
(This is a CN Govt requirement)
The dorm rooms are basic and you may get the city views.
There are no privacy curtains and there was no air-con, in my one.
The hostel staff can provide fans, but we did not need any, as it was still cool at night.
The beds are OK.
There is a bathroom in the dorm room too, but there was almost no privacy for the bathroom, as there was a gap between the door for others to see and you can see through the frosted glass into the bathroom too!
The hostel is relatively clean, quiet and well-located,
except there may be other local guests, who are loud and smoke sometimes in the other rooms.
Next to the hostel is a nice up-market shopping centre and with really lots to eat, in the food-court on the 3rd floor.

BBlade.around.the.worldAfter a pleasant stay at the Green Tree Eastern in Kashgar, I decided to try the Green Tree Eastern in Urumqi. First impressions were mixed: while the exterior and lobby are fairly underwhelming, the rooms themselves are noticeably better presented.
Check-in was quick and efficient, and both the receptionist and security staff were friendly and welcoming. My Ctrip booking included a complimentary upgrade from a standard room to a superior room; however, this upgrade was neither provided nor acknowledged at check-in.
The hotel’s location is one of its stronger points. It is situated next to a Chinese shopping district and close to a metro station with direct airport access. That said, the hotel name is misleading—despite implying proximity to the Urumqi Grand Bazaar, the bazaar is actually one metro stop away or about a 30-minute walk.
The room itself was acceptable at first glance, but closer inspection revealed significant mold and holes near the bathroom wall. The room temperature remained uncomfortably cold at around 16°C, and the heating system did not appear to be functioning properly. The most serious issue occurred after taking a shower, when all of the drainage water leaked through the wall and completely flooded the room.
I immediately informed the front desk about the flooding and also mentioned the missing complimentary upgrade. Unfortunately, there was a translation misunderstanding, and the receptionist believed I was requesting an upgrade to a suite. Together with the security agent, we inspected the room, and they acknowledged both the flooding and the lack of heating. I was then upgraded to a suite, for which I am grateful—though I want to be clear that I never intended to demand a suite upgrade.
What truly surprised me was discovering that the same defective room was cleaned and reassigned to another guest that very evening, apparently without any repairs. It is difficult to understand how a hotel would reissue a room with such serious issues.
On a positive note, housekeeping staff were extremely kind and friendly. However, during our five-night stay, the bedsheets were never changed.
Overall, the Green Tree Eastern Urumqi is not a terrible hotel, but the experience was far from smooth and did not meet the standard set by the Green Tree Eastern property in Kashgar. With better maintenance, clearer communication, and improved housekeeping practices, this hotel could be much better.
