"The hotel is bustling and very close to the Grand Bazaar, making it super convenient for getting around. Food options are also great, with plenty of delicious places nearby. There was a slight hiccup though – my mom might have gotten a bit sick from the change in environment and developed a fever. The hotel staff were incredibly caring and helped us arrange a late check-out so she could rest properly for the day, allowing us to comfortably catch our train in the evening. If I ever come back to Xinjiang, I would definitely choose to stay here again."

The breakfast buffet offered a good variety of delicious food, and the noodle station chef was genuinely friendly and enthusiastic. "The room was very clean and the environment was nice. The customer service was very welcoming. The driver who took me to the airport was a very steady and attentive driver. I was fortunate to receive a complimentary breakfast; the restaurant manager was very welcoming. Because I booked the hotel through Ctrip, I wasn't entitled to the complimentary breakfast, but since I'm a member manager, I was allowed to try it. The restaurant staff were also very attentive. Thank you!"

No. 5 of 4-Star Select Hotels in Urumqi"Arriving late at night in winter and being able to go straight to the hotel from the airport without stepping outside was incredibly convenient. It saved us from having to pack an extra set of clothes (which for a family of four is a lot! 😂). The other facilities were also great, meeting both the price and our expectations. A pleasant surprise was the wide variety of delivery food available, and the taste was super good! I'll definitely keep choosing this place in the future.
Here's a tip: If you've got a car parked at the hotel, don't be shy – just drive slowly towards the main gate and it will open automatically. 😂
One thing to note is that the underfloor heating is incredibly warm, very warm... Even among all the places we stayed during our two-week trip with central heating, theirs was the hottest. This made the air really dry. The humidifier provided was quite mini, so I'd suggest upgrading it. For someone from the south, this kind of dry heat is really hard to get used to. 😂 Lacking self-help solutions for this only adds to the hassle for both guests and staff. I truly hope the tourism industry in Xinjiang continues to thrive!"

"We were very happy with our room; it was a spacious, square-shaped king room with beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows. We arrived in Urumqi late at night. We originally booked a Lavande Hotel, but when we got there, the front desk gave us an end room, then changed it to a corner room. My heart was pounding standing outside the room, so we canceled our reservation and booked at Lilai instead.
The front desk staff was very professional and had a great service attitude. We couldn't find the address, and they patiently guided us over the phone. The room had a welcome handwritten card and a hand-drawn notebook. The hygiene details were excellent, and the breakfast selection was quite rich, though there were a lot of people eating breakfast."

Stayed from March 13th-15th, 2026. The off-season price was great, and I got a free room upgrade, but I also encountered power outages, stuffiness, and poor soundproofing. Here’s an honest breakdown of the pros and cons 👇
📍 Location: Convenient for getting anywhere
• Jinquan Shopping Mall – 5-10 minute walk (the basement is fantastic for browsing, handicrafts are cheap)
• International Grand Bazaar – 15-25 minute walk
• Hetian Erjie (Second Street) – 20-30 minute walk (a foodie paradise)
• Small market behind the hotel – downstairs; offers grilled skewers, grilled eggs, and fruit at night, full of local life
• Taxis – starting fare 8-12 yuan, plenty of empty cabs during off-season, easy to get around
🏨 Stay Experience
Price: Super affordable during the off-season (March), nearly half the price of peak season.
Room Upgrade: The front desk proactively upgraded my room, which significantly enhanced my stay 👍
Power Outage: The entire street experienced a power outage on the first night, not the hotel's fault. Recovery was quick during the off-season.
Front Desk Service: You can store luggage, making it convenient to explore the Grand Bazaar after check-out.
Decor Style: Very satisfied! A ”secret realm” vibe, dark tones with warm lighting, high quality, and great for photos 📸
⚠️ Two Minor Issues
Underfloor Heating Too Hot: Staying in March, it was so stuffy at night that I sweated and woke up several times due to the heat.
Average Soundproofing: I could hear people talking in the hallway and doors opening/closing next door. It wasn't too bad since there were few guests during the off-season, but I'd recommend earplugs for sensitive sleepers.

💡 Check-in Tips
1. Bring earplugs as a backup.
2. Spend half a day exploring the basement of Jinquan Shopping Mall.
3. Don't miss the small market behind the hotel at night.
4. Store your luggage after check-out, then pick it up after you're done sightseeing.
5. If staying in winter, bring a short-sleeved shirt in case it gets too hot, so you have something to change into.
6. Bring a humidifier; it's very dry. The hotel has them, but I didn't use theirs.

Flora isn't a perfect hotel – it had power outages, stuffiness, and soundproofing issues. However, its location, price, and decor style are truly a rare find in Urumqi city center.
In March during the off-season, two nights with a free room upgrade, I was very satisfied. I would choose it again next time, just remember to bring a short-sleeved shirt 😅

I'd like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Luo for his patience, responsibility, and professional demeanor throughout. He never argued, even when my wife was being difficult (and yes, my wife also had some issues, and the children's check-in was handled responsibly). He even gave me a lighter! He actively communicated and resolved all our problems efficiently and with genuine sincerity. What started as a very disappointing experience was completely turned around. I sincerely apologize again to Mr. Luo for all the trouble. You even compensated us for one night, and I couldn't properly thank you when we left because my wife was finally happy and comfortable, all thanks to your dedicated service. Your service mindset and problem-solving skills are truly outstanding, and you absolutely deserve a five-star rating as a manager! I'm so sorry again that I couldn't speak to you more freely at the time, as the front desk staff was present, and I didn't want to make things awkward for you. Thank you for your understanding and for taking photos to document the resolution. This hotel is lucky to have a manager like you. My sincere apologies once more for my wife's excessive remarks. I saw the manager this morning when we checked out; he was already at work, so dedicated. I didn't want to bother him again. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends."
