Amazing
__cmb4392267300404350This is a classic British-style hotel in Edinburgh, highly recommended by a friend. Due to a change in our itinerary, Ctrip was very responsible in communicating with us, but the hotel refused to adjust the dates or the number of rooms, so we had to cancel and rebook, with the price going from 6,700 to 9,200... Since we were traveling with a child, the hotel added a small bed for free. Although the mattress was very soft, it was a great value at no extra charge. The hotel's amenities are exquisite, and upon check-in, they gave us small cookies that we could draw with syrup. We also received three bottles of water and a Scottish seabird doll every day. The breakfast was the same every day, but the fruit was delicious, and they provided heated milk, maintaining the quality of a high-end hotel. Overall, it's a hotel with good service and facilities, but the price wasn't as impressive.

Great
AAz90The hotel was lovely and in a convenient location. We only stayed for one night but managed to make use of the wonderful spa and gorgeous breakfast. The spa staff were unbelievably friendly and accommodating to all our needs. It is easy to get into Edinburgh City Centre either by use of the Park and Ride (10 mins away) or drive in (30 mins). If you book, make sure you add on the breakfast, you will not be disappointed!

Great
SSMarieI really enjoyed my four days. Wonderful hotel the team was very friendly and helpful at all times of the day. Great location easy to get to from the Station/airport. Good trams service along Princes Street. Plenty of buses along South Bridge which is a short walk. Enjoyed the spa facilities especially the swimming pool. The lounge near the reception area is a little chilly but a nice spot to relax with a warm drink. Overall a very pleasant stay. Would recommend.
Rooms
Good size room, fantastic shower and products. Bed was very comfortable. It was a tad cold so I requested a blanket which was very snug. Bonus having a fridge and complimentary water nice touch. Tea/coffee try was good but would be great to have some hot chocolate.
Nearby activities
Holyrood Palace and gardens on your doorstep along with great views of Arthur Seat. Five minutes walk to the Royal Mile.
Food and drinks
There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel. I found the food a bit hit and miss to be honest. Breakfast is great with a great choice in food for all palettes. Warm friendly service.

Great
CCherry1228Excellent location, next to Edinburgh Castle. It is a very old hotel with good facilities, a small swimming pool and sauna. A family of three checked in and the front desk gave us a family room with a separate small bed. The view outside the window is also good. There is a bathtub and capsule coffee. There is TESCO downstairs, which is very convenient for shopping. Such a good room, buy some beer and drink it in the room, it's really not too good ☺️ The breakfast on the first floor is very good 35 pounds per person. The main meal must be told to the waiter separately, which is included in the 35 pounds. This hotel has hosted members of the British royal family. There are photos in the restaurant on the first floor.
It takes 15 minutes to walk to Cardington Hill. You can see Edinburgh Castle all the way. The surrounding core scenic spots are 15 minutes walk, which is great!
A very satisfactory stay experience 👍👍👍
GGuest UserService was good enough and as per expectations of a big hotel brand. Nothing to complain about.
The only complaint I have is about the amenities. There was no dental kit provided in the room and when requested for, I was asked to come down to the reception to collect it rather than have housekeeping deliver to the room. There was no single use slippers either and I had to pay £5 for it which I felt was pretty excessive for a disposable pair of slippers.. I paid for it anyway since I needed it. The staff were kind about it though and could do nothing as it was hotel policy.
Hope Novotel can review its policies on the provision of these amenities.

Very Good
2205701****Although the absolute price was a bit high, the value for money was excellent! The space was huge, equivalent to two bedrooms with bathtubs, plus an oversized living room, hallway, and walk-in closet. Gin, whiskey, vodka, cola, designated beers, and other drinks were all free to enjoy. There was twice-daily housekeeping service, and coffee capsules were refilled constantly. I was very satisfied. However, the hotel overall felt a bit dated. The main entrance surprisingly didn't lead to the lobby; it seemed to be more focused on dining and the spa. The actual lobby was hidden on the basement level with no signs.
