"My two-day trip to Yangzhou was made special by my stay at this hotel. I had requested a quiet room, and the hotel upgraded me from the 'Shanyue' (Mountain View) to the 'Shuiyue' (Water View) building. I didn't hear any announcements from the Qiyuan restaurant during breakfast, which was great. The Shanyue building would be lovely in spring with its lush greenery. The Shuiyue room overlooked the sunken sofa area. It wasn't as large as rooms in Building 18, but the overall experience was still very good. Bulgari toiletries, a well-stocked minibar, and a welcome fruit platter were all standard. There was a bathtub, but bath bags weren't provided – you need to ask for them. We received hot spring tickets but didn't get a chance to use them. Turndown service was available, and you could choose your 'goodnight' amenity via their WeChat official account. I opted for a 'mystery box' but it was forgotten, so I had to call the front desk later to have it delivered. A big thank you to the auntie who delivered our order late at night! Each room gets two Häagen-Dazs ice cream scoops. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but the food was tasty, especially the San Ding Bao – absolutely delicious! The lemon tart was also amazing; I haven't had dessert in a while, and this really impressed me. We originally planned to visit Slender West Lake on our second day, but we couldn't wake up early enough, and by the time we went later, it was packed with people. So, we decided to just explore the hotel instead. The hotel is actually part of Slender West Lake, and you can see parts of it from the hotel grounds. It was quite pleasant to walk around and avoid the crowds. The front desk also provides feed for the koi and swans, so we took the shuttle between buildings to feed the little animals. At check-out, I even customized a room card to keep as a souvenir. My only regret was not being able to celebrate my birthday at the Mountain Restaurant because I didn't make a reservation in advance. My two-day Yangzhou trip didn't involve many planned activities, mostly just city walks through a few streets. But those streets were so crowded, taxis were hard to get, and shared electric bikes were either broken or out of battery – I was exhausted! The best part was definitely relaxing at the hotel. The hotel experience was a perfect 100! I'd love to come back again."

"The cat is cute and gentle, and the store manager is also very enthusiastic. When you enter the door, you feel a fresh smell. The room type is not bad and very clean and tidy. The only small drawback is that the room type I set may not be very large. Next time I change to another room type. Look, It is worthy of praise that the pillows really like very high and thick and soft, unlike other hotel pillows crumpled (˵¯͒〰¯͒˵), especially the public billiards because of time problems, I didn’t have time to have fun haha will come again next time."

The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were high-end and fully equipped, with thoughtful details evident throughout. The dining was exquisite, offering authentic and traditional Huaiyang cuisine. The buffet had a rich selection and excellent flavors, ensuring delicious culinary delights from morning till night. The swimming pool offered expansive views and crystal-clear water, in a quiet and upscale environment, making for a truly enjoyable swim. The gym and other amenities were also comprehensive and well-equipped. The service was attentive and thoughtful, making for an overall luxurious and pleasant experience. Whether for a vacation or a business trip, it's an absolutely superb choice. Finally, a special thank you to Guest Services Manager Emma. Her attentive and meticulous 'Shangri-La style' service made our stay truly wonderful. She is a true paragon of professionalism in the hotel industry. I will definitely book Shangri-La again on my next visit to Yangzhou. Looking forward to seeing the lovely Emma again!"

"The resort's overall environment and landscaping are absolutely beautiful, with a very comfortable Jiangnan-style (Southern China) aesthetic. We stayed in a private hot spring villa with a well-designed layout and excellent privacy. It's pet-friendly, and although they charged a 300 RMB fee, our dog had a great time. The private hot spring requires two hours to fill in advance, and the staff taught us how to heat it, which was a good experience. However, they didn't show us how to drain it, and when we asked the next day, we were told, 'We already taught you yesterday,' which was a bit… *cringes*. Drawbacks: I've stayed in similar types of accommodations at this price point, but the service here wasn't as professional by comparison; there's room for improvement. The facilities are a bit dated (TV, air conditioning, water dispenser), the curtains were inconvenient to use, and the bathrobes seemed old. The check-in process wasn't very clear, and the public hot spring was crowded and not very clean. Overall, the good outweighs the bad. The environment and private hot spring are big plusses, making it suitable for a relaxing getaway."

"The room was tall and spacious, and the cleaning lady was exceptionally warm and diligent, even cleaning the glass partitions. This Hampton by Hilton has truly excellent hygiene. I had such a wonderful time exploring the local cuisine in Yangzhou; every meal was cleared! The people along Slender West Lake and Qinhuai River were all so cultured and sophisticated, which is really impressive! I'll definitely stay at this hotel again on my next visit!"

"This hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! It's right at the entrance of Dongguan Street and next to the bus station, making it super convenient to get anywhere. The Ancient Canal boat tours are just across the street. We felt the hotel's great service even before we arrived, as they proactively communicated about our arrival time. When we did get there, the staff were so warm and attentive. Our room package included afternoon tea and breakfast, both of which were excellent. They even provided complimentary fruit and offered late-night snacks. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Despite being right by a bustling area, the room was very quiet, and they even provided earplugs, so I slept wonderfully. I'll definitely be back to this hotel on my next trip to Yangzhou!"

"The hotel's service was exceptional (honestly, it's rare to find such great service). The location and facilities are also very good. A special thank you to Ms. Zhao Jiang for her excellent service. Also, there was another staff member who, when cleaning our room, noticed our dirty laundry and left a note reminding us about the hotel's self-service laundry. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite make out her name on the note, it looked something like Jiang Yushun? (I've attached a photo of the note, thank you to her as well!) If I ever go to Yangzhou again, I'll definitely stay here."

This place was once the residence of Ruan Yuan, a three-time Grand Secretary, a first-rank official, and the Viceroy of Liangjiang during the reigns of Emperors Qianlong, Jiaqing, and Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty's literary circle, there were not many people who could establish a school or a sect. Ruan Yuan from Jiangsu Province was one of them. Ruan Yuan's ancestral home was in Yizheng, Jiangsu Province. He was born in a family of officials in Yangzhou in the 29th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign. His grandfather was a military scholar and served as a general in Hunan. His father entered the imperial academy at a young age and studied "Zuo's Spring and Autumn Annals", becoming a master of classical prose. His mother, Lin, also came from an official family and was well-versed in poetry and literature, with good cultivation. Growing up in such a family, Ruan Yuan was influenced by his family's learning from an early age and gradually became a renowned talent in both literature and martial arts. At the age of 25, Ruan Yuan passed the imperial examination and entered the officialdom. Ruan Yuan not only held high positions but was also a staunch guardian of Yangzhou's culture. He compiled "Jingji Zanggu" and edited and printed "Thirteen Classics with Commentaries and Sub-commentaries", his cultural achievements shining like stars in Yangzhou's cultural heritage. Mr. Ruan Yuan dedicated his life to cultural inheritance and academic research. The "Jingji Zanggu" he compiled collected the essence of ancient annotations and interpretations, providing an important basis for later generations to study classics.
