"We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel. If possible, I highly recommend booking a window-side room in the main building. The view is amazing—you can watch planes taking off and landing at Songshan Airport while also enjoying a beautiful view of Taipei 101. It was a unique and memorable experience, especially during the evening. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the combination of the historic architecture and the stunning city view made our stay even more enjoyable."

You will have a great business and leisure trip by enjoying a great shopping of Taipei’s well-known specialties and traditional food in the nearby stands and shops.

"I personally feel that this hotel is in a very 'local' area. How do I put it? It feels like living alongside ********* people, surrounded by their daily lives. The night market is 'right next door,' and the entire street downstairs is filled with everyday shops, markets, and food stalls that cater to locals. It's a bit far from Taipei Main Station (over 1km), but about a 10-minute walk to Shuanglian MRT Station. The hotel staff are all great – from the front desk gentlemen and office ladies to the cleaning staff and canteen employees, everyone is polite and has a good attitude. The breakfast was delicious."

"We would definitely come back! Room was spacious. Location is prime and just 2 minutes away from the Taipei Metro Station. Another 2 minutes away from the National Museum. Surrounding you have decent number of eateries and there is a shopping mall just across the street. There is a food court on the 11 & 12th floor with a good place to get some local food as souvenirs and of course a supermarket. The hotel comes with a business lounge to have your coffee or tea. Laundry to do your necessary washing. They collect TWD1000 as refundable deposit. And offered 3 complimentary beer vouchers. We stayed for 2 nights and apparently housekeeping service is not offered."

"Such a charming little place with super convenient transport! And it's great value for money too! The only thing is, the decor has a bit of a retro vibe. Let's put our heads together and turn it into the absolute cutest spot! 💖"

"Our second time staying here while visiting Taipei. We made a repeat visit because the location is great, around 5 minute walk to Ximending market. The hotel itself isn’t too big, there’s only 5 rooms on each floor so there’s also zero noise, very suitable for a light sleeper like myself. The amenities are quite limited (I believe due to the new regulations?) but enough, you get shampoo, soap, water jar to refill filtered water and snacks to keep your stomach full. They also provide breakfast coupons which you can pick the place of your likings (I recommend Mos Burgers). Also the staffs are really nice and helpful, always smiling and eager to help every time you walk in. And if you love riding buses, the hotel is near the main road where the bus stop is, there’s also a park next to it, and some local restaurants no one really talks about. Oh, and Family Mart, 7-Eleven, coffee shop are across from the hotel. On the left is also 2 famous bubble milk tea (50lan and Milksha). And Watsons is right on the corner."

The Taiwan Youth Hostel & Capsule Hotel provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. Visitors to Taipei will find that the Taiwan Youth Hostel & Capsule Hotel is a fantastic accommodation choice. Boasting a convenient location, the hotel is just 3km from Wanhua Station and 6km from Taipei Songshan Airport. In addition, Taipei Main Metro Station is just a short walk away. The nearby area boasts an abundance of attractions including Yongkang Street, Taiwan Museum and Taiwan Museum Railway Department Park. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. Guests tell us the location of this hotel is fantastic. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling alone.

"A great choice for solo travelers. The capsule bed is clean and they even have more storage for you to keep your things on the head side of the bed. Very convenient so we don't have to go back and forth retrieving our stuffs from the luggage. They also have mirror on each capsule (very thoughtful!). Free flow of hot drinks and snacks in the kitchen and they provide free bread at 7-10am every day in the mornin The location is very strategic, not even 500m from the M8 gate of MRT Taipei Main Station. Tips for those who are arriving in Taipei by airport MRT, TRA or THSR, do not make the same mistake as mine by taking the main exit from the station building because you need to cross the street by using the bridge. Just look for M8 MRT exit (escalators available) and you'll be fine."

"Good location and nice staff. Hotel room is pricy but it doesn’t reflect on room. Hotel room is enclosed by partition walls so can hear people chat in next room. Air conditioner is extremely noisy. I cannot sleep well. Hotel room is very small. Toilet is even more terrible. It has been small but still using electrical toilet seat. It make toilet bowl even smaller. I cannot poop properly. Then showering area is very small. The shower curtain keep sticking to my body during bathroom so that I can bath. Shower head and the mount is lousy. They keep loose out. You can see my ceiling. It looks like those building which is lacking of maintenance."

"Great service and location, but an absolute nightmare of a stay Rating: 1/5 I booked this hotel for a one-night trip to Taipei for a concert—just me, alone, excited to see my idol. Unfortunately, the stay itself was a total nightmare. Let me start with the positives: the service is excellent—knowledgeable, quick, and polite. The location is also perfect, with a direct path from the Taipei MRT station to the hotel, and you can reach Taoyuan Airport in under an hour. There's even a water machine in the corridor, which was handy for getting hot water. But that's where the good ends. The hotel is shockingly old—worse than any dilapidated hotel in Hong Kong at a third of the price. For what I paid, I did not expect this level of neglect. I couldn't book a single or double room, so they gave me a room with three beds. I lay down on the first bed furthest from the window and soon felt itchy—I suspect bed lice. The other two beds near the window seemed fine, but that's already unacceptable. And the blankets were so thin I felt completely insecure—like there was nothing protecting me. The bathroom was a disaster. Hair on the wall, a small dark spot in the bathtub, and no hairdryer. The toilet barely flushed—I had to press the button multiple times, and the toilet paper just wouldn't go away. As for the shower—I've never seen anything like this in 40 years of traveling. Not even in mainland China hotels I visited as a kid with my grandparents. The knob was super loose and barely functional. Turning it to the hot water side did nothing—no water came out. Slightly turning the other way (still on the red hot side) gave only cold water. I could not get hot water at all. At breakfast, I overheard Japanese ladies complaining about the exact same issue. Unbelievable. There were also zero amenities. They hide behind ”eco-friendly,” but in Japan, you can still ask for supplies. Here, I didn't even have tissue paper in the room—I had to go back to the toilet to get toilet paper. I couldn't take a proper shower. I feel so dirty and uncomfortable. Truly a nightmare. I would never recommend this place to anyone."

GGuest UserThe view was fantastic, with a clear sight of Taipei 101 in the distance. The room had a convenient table, perfect for a quick bite or a drink. Since it was an anniversary celebration, the hotel kindly provided a bottle of champagne, which really set a lovely atmosphere. The staff were all polite and had excellent service. And the breakfast was really good too! ♡

GGuest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable. 2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside? 3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues. As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight. We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of: - Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance - Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival - Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future. Thank you for your attention.

AAnonymous UserEnjoyed our stay so much that we booked an extra night to rest and roam around before our flight. Super convenient access to the airport rail. Y13 exit has a ramp, escalator, and elevator. East Gate of Taipei Main Station, where Klook tours depart, is also just a short walk away so that was a big plus. My husband enjoyed the latte from the free coffee machine. Great beef noodle (Liu Shandong) and stinky tofu place (Ah Qua) also nearby. Highly recommended at the price point. Will stay again. Guests who have difficulty walking and using the stairs might want to reconsider.

SShuxiaThe location is fantastic, right behind Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The elevators and front desk area look a bit dated, but the staff were decent. They put a large bed in the room, but because the room was small and the duvet wasn't warm enough, I got cold in the middle of the night and had to turn off the air conditioning. The kettle had dust and limescale marks. However, the bathroom was really clean, and the toilet was modern. I was genuinely surprised and impressed that the shower had two types of showerheads. It's a very good budget hotel. I'd definitely consider staying here again in the future.

SSurana SukumaranBetter than expected. It’s quite good for the price. It’s not bad. Is clean. Basement room is fine (do not book the single room - my friend booked that and it’s tiny!). The hotel has a nice style. I liked it actually. What could improve : slippers are crap - like wearing a plastic bag (how much does a reasonable one cost ? 1$?). Chair should add a simple cushion to make it look better and cozy. Noise of water flow in toilet when someone above uses toilet is a bit annoying.

SSiva Rama 256Check in takes only 5 minutes and check out much more faster with 10 seconds with a self check out machine that will suck in your room card. Check in gets faster with your reply to the property telling them what type of room you have booked and what time you'll arrive. With booming businesses and too many bookings, the staff might get entangled in mess, so partially you reply is helping them to get grounded and avoid mistakes. The property is clean, neat, nice and next to easy transport and family mart and 7e.

AAnonymous UserLocation: 5/5 – Nothing to complain about. The metro entrance is right in front of the building. However, the hotel is located on the 7th floor, so you have to share the elevator with other occupants of the building. As a result, the wait time for the elevator can sometimes be a bit long. Room Size: 4.5/5 – The room is relatively spacious compared to other hotels in the same area. Check-in/Check-out: Quick and efficient. However, the check-in time is 4:00 PM, which is later than most hotels, where check-in is typically between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Public Areas: The room itself was not very makeup-friendly (there was no vanity mirror, and the yellow lighting made it difficult to apply makeup). However, the hotel provides a public makeup room with large mirrors and bright lighting, which was a great touch. I’ve never seen this at other hotels before!
