"I definitely enjoyed my stay in Meworld Hotel since it is so near to the MRT station that made everything accessible and seamless.
The staff were so nice and accommodating. We asked for clean hotel and garbage bags and they were able to accommodate it right away.
Love that the shower had hot and cold options and a working TV. Love the mini refrigerator too!
Overall, it was a great stay and experience and will definitely recommend to everyone. 🤍🤍"

"For this trip to Taiwan, I stayed at the Grand Hotel Taipei for three nights. After a comprehensive renovation in recent years, it's completely transformed. The bathrooms now feature a bathtub and a separate shower, and the toilets have automatic bidet functions. The bedding is also brand new. The only minor change is that the renovation materials used are a bit darker in color. At night, the entire hotel is brilliantly illuminated and very eye-catching. I want to highlight that the hotel offers a shuttle bus every ten minutes to Yuanshan MRT Station – definitely don't miss out on this perk for guests! Taipei's MRT system is very extensive, making it super convenient to get around."

"Our stay was amazing! The room was very spacious, comfortable, and super clean. Everything was well-maintained and made us feel very comfortable throughout the trip. We also got exactly the same room as advertised,the room looked exactly like the photos shown in the listing, which we really appreciated.
The location is also great,walking distance to both Taipei Main Station and Ximending, which made it very convenient for us to travel around. There are also halal food places nearby, which was a big plus for Muslim travellers. Overall, highly recommended and definitely one of the best places we’ve stayed!"

"On my last day of travel, I had a layover in Taipei and decided to stay at the Ximen Hotel again. It was as consistently good as ever, providing a pleasant stay.
Service: The service was excellent. They offered luggage storage, contacted me via message before check-in, and the front desk even helped me receive a package. The service attitude was very good.
Cleanliness: The hygiene was impeccable, very clean and tidy. The room was cleaned daily.
Facilities: The hotel is a bit old, and some facilities are a bit dated, but they are all very comprehensive. If you need disposable toiletries, you have to purchase them at the front desk. Drinking water is provided in the room, but you need to bring your own soap. The single room was a bit small, making it a little hard to move around."

"The location is fantastic, right behind Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The elevators and front desk area look a bit dated, but the staff were decent. They put a large bed in the room, but because the room was small and the duvet wasn't warm enough, I got cold in the middle of the night and had to turn off the air conditioning. The kettle had dust and limescale marks. However, the bathroom was really clean, and the toilet was modern. I was genuinely surprised and impressed that the shower had two types of showerheads. It's a very good budget hotel. I'd definitely consider staying here again in the future."

"This is a great value-for-money place to stay! The owner was really helpful, giving us lots of good tips for exploring the area, and quickly provided extra towels and water when we asked. For my fellow Koreans, just a heads-up: it seems like they provide two large bath towels per day (not the smaller face towels we're used to in Korea), but if you need more, they're usually happy to provide them if you ask! Oh, and they even had three power adaptors (the 'pig nose' type) ready for us. It's a really comfortable and relaxing place to stay!!"

"The hotel staff gave us a warm welcome. We arrived before the check‑in time, but they kindly allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and offered great recommendations for sightseeing and dining.
We stayed in a family room for three people, and the space was more than enough for us. The room was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. The location is also great—not right in the middle of Ximending, but slightly away from the busy area, so it’s quieter and more relaxing.
Overall, a very pleasant stay!"

"It's not a bad hotel per se. Friendly and helpful staff. Location is decent.
I didn't really like the layout of the room - the windows are weird in the sense that it's really low. The A/C blow directly to your face whilst sleeping, which has been pointed out by others.
There's a washing machine and dryer(extra payment needed), filtered water cooler at the front desk, as well as umbrellas to borrow.
It's a decent option for a few days stay in Taipei I would say, when you're on a budget."

AAkaixWas hesitant before booking this hotel as Japanese hotel rooms are generally smaller than usual as compared to taiwan local hotels.
To my surprise, it was quite spacious! Able to open up my luggage fully on the floor without obstruction and a sofa area to chill.
TV was okay with alot of ********* channels but had some issues connecting my netflix despite following the on screen instructions.
Overall it was a positive experience! Will visit again!

AAnonymous UserThere's construction on one side of the hotel, and the old windows don't close properly, so diesel fumes from the crane wafted directly into the bedroom. Not to mention the noise from the building work – imagine driving a car without air conditioning, stuck behind a diesel truck constantly spewing exhaust fumes. The result? A headache that required painkillers.
Luckily, Trip.com was great and got me a room change.
The mattress is very soft, so if you prefer lumbar support, you should reconsider. The family with kids next door was very noisy, and the front desk promptly moved me to another room. The transportation is very convenient, with the MRT station just a two-minute walk away.
The hotel lobby is like an MRT platform, bustling with people – from young to old, student groups to limping seniors, all attending some event. It's the opposite of quiet. If you enjoy crowded fairs, you might like the lively atmosphere. Even checking in took about 10 minutes.

The place itself is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the common areas are nice if you want to relax or meet other travelers. What stood out the most was how accommodating and friendly the staff were—they’re always ready to help with directions, recommendations, or anything you need.
As a female solo traveler, safety and comfort are everything, and Main Inn definitely delivered. It has a welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home while still being budget-friendly.

RresplendentxHad a thoroughly enjoyable 4-night stay in Taipei. It was perfect for me as a solo traveller! The cleanliness was top notch throughout the hotel, and housekeeping did an excellent job daily. The location was also extremely convenient — just near the airport transfer at Taipei Main Station, which made travelling around very easy. Check-in and check-out were both smooth and fuss-free, and the staff provided great service throughout the stay. Amenities were great as well, with all the basic necessities (bottled water, room slippers and bath soap) thoughtfully provided. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taipei.

PPaul1stmayI had a pleasant stay overall, mainly because of the location. The hotel is very well-situated — it’s right in the center of everything, making it easy to find food, attractions, and nightlife nearby. You don’t have to walk too far to get around, which is very convenient.
The check-in and check-out process is strictly on time, but the hotel does provide a waiting area with seating, restrooms, and complimentary iced green tea, which helps make the experience more comfortable.
Breakfast, however, was a bit underwhelming. The hotpot option didn’t offer much variety — there was no meat, only items like fish balls and processed ingredients. I ended up trying it just once and decided it was better to spend the money eating outside instead.
The walls are also not very soundproof, so you may hear noise from neighboring rooms. That said, I personally found it an acceptable trade-off given how good the location is.
Overall, a solid choice if location is your top priority.
