"A wonderful hideaway for a hot spring getaway. The private courtyard comes with its own hot tub, or you can switch things up and use the public pools. In the evenings, you can catch a stunning sunset, and the Ancient Dian Kingdom Museum is right across the way. The villa's amenities are top-notch, and it's very clean, even including a private sauna. There weren't any bugs this season, which made it a super comfortable and relaxing spot for a few friends to unwind. The breakfast and dinner at the mountaintop restaurant are both excellent, and they do Western dishes really well too!"

"This hotel is located right in the city center, with a lively pedestrian street and plenty of great food options downstairs. The halal beef pancakes right outside are delicious and always have a long queue! If you turn right out of the hotel and pass Nanning Street, you'll reach Shuncheng Shopping Mall, which boasts numerous restaurants. The Wuyi Road metro station is also right next to it. You can easily walk to Cuihu Park and several other pedestrian streets from the hotel, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel breakfast offers a wide variety of dishes, including local Yunnan specialties like Er'si and rice noodles. The hotel maintains the high standards of Sheraton (Marriott), and the room facilities are excellent. The lovely front desk staff even upgraded my room and gave me a fruit platter. My room on the 28th floor offered expansive city views. For transportation to Kunming Station, if you're in a hurry, I'd recommend a taxi as there might not be a direct metro line due to the complex underground structure of the old city. One suggestion I have is to place ashtrays (or poles) outside the entrance. This would prevent guests who step out to smoke from a non-smoking hotel from littering cigarette butts."

"The hotel's design is truly unique and thoughtful, and the service was proactively attentive and thorough. They even provided a complimentary extra bed for our party of three. The room layout was very practical, with the walk-in closet seamlessly connecting to the bathroom. I especially loved the Kohler brushed faucets – definitely adding them to my wishlist! The hotel is directly connected to Plaza 66, which was incredibly convenient for picking up anything we forgot. Next door is the Stone House in Camellia Park, perfect for an afternoon unwind. And right across the street is the Kunming Flying Tigers Memorial Museum (a poignant reminder that not all things last forever…)."

"Great value for money! They even gave us complimentary fruit and snowflake crisps. The snowflake crisps were absolutely delicious – I asked about them and found out the hotel's own bakery sells them, so I bought some snowflake crisps and bread to take home, which was reassuring. The front desk service was warm and welcoming; they greeted us with smiles and check-in was very fast. The soundproofing in the room was also good, quiet at night, and I slept really soundly."

"The room was spacious with a window, and being on the 14th floor, the view was fantastic. You needed to use your card to operate the elevator, which made me feel very secure. Right opposite the hotel is Cuihu Park, which is free to enter, perfect for a leisurely stroll. The hotel is located in the city center. To the right of the hotel is Huangdong Street, a vibrant area, especially when the jacaranda trees are in bloom, with many small cafes for visitors to relax in. The hotel breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, with high-quality offerings. The hotel's Chinese restaurant was also excellent; the dishes tasted great, the prices were reasonable, offering great value for money. I had all three meals at the hotel every day, which was clean and hygienic, with beautiful views of Cuihu Park from the window! This hotel is quite popular, and rooms book up quickly. I booked a week in advance and couldn't even extend my stay for an extra night. If you get a city view room, you can catch the sunrise. The most sought-after rooms are the lake view ones, which overlook Cuihu Park and offer stunning sunset views. If you want one, make sure to book well in advance! This hotel definitely deserves a 100/100 score!"

"Visited Kunming with the kids during the May Day holiday and chose the Shangri-La Jen Hotel, which has a great location. The room was a bit small, but perfectly adequate. The pool and gym facilities were quite good. Remy, Sally, and Grace at the front desk all provided excellent service. The breakfast was delicious, and the Chinese restaurant was also very good. Even though the weather in Kunming was a bit chilly this time, we definitely felt the hotel's warm service!"

"Novotel, part of the French Accor Group, is a mid-to-upscale business and leisure hotel chain. I've stayed at them abroad before, and they always offer guests a balanced, relaxing experience. In China, they're operated by Huazhu Hotels Group. Choosing the Novotel on Dianchi Road this time was a smart move. **Butler Service:** After booking, a butler (mine was Lucky) called me in advance to provide hotel service and facility information via WeChat. They even sent a PPT with a local travel guide, so guests can be well-informed before check-in. **Location:** The hotel is near Nanya Fengqing First City and Aegean Shopping Park. There are plenty of restaurants on two nearby streets, making dining and shopping very convenient. It's in a quiet spot yet close to everything. Fuhai Station on Metro Line 5 is just a few hundred meters away, making it easy to visit attractions. **Room & Cleanliness:** The twin room was a decent size with wide beds that were medium-firm. There were two pillows – one for support and one for sleeping. Personally, I found the pillows a bit too soft. All the linen was very clean, and the hairdryer was a Dyson. The room was thoroughly cleaned, with no missed spots. **Gym:** Located on the 20th floor, I was very satisfied. It's on two levels and well-equipped. Working out with a night view from a high floor was a real treat. **Swimming Pool:** Also on the 20th floor, it's 20 meters long and 1.2 meters deep. I checked it out but didn't have time for a swim. During the day, the floor-to-ceiling windows by the pool let in plenty of sunshine. **Laundry Room:** There are 2 dryers and 2 washing machines. I used them once. I imagine it might get busy and require waiting during peak season. **Breakfast:** You can sample local specialties like Yunnan rice noodles, Ersi (rice cakes), Miggan (rice sheets), and Qiguoji (steam pot chicken soup). The breakfast spread was comprehensive, but the croissants and Western pastries were of average quality. **Special Drinks:** As a Huazhu Hotels member, I received a voucher for a special coffee drink at the lobby bar, and a fruit platter was sent to my room. **Service:** The lobby staff were quite enthusiastic and answered all my questions in detail. Upon check-out, I even received a thoughtful small gift box. **Suggestions:** 1. There was only one small trash can in the room. There were no trash cans near the sink area, which was quite inconvenient. 2. The shower room uses anti-slip tiles, but adding an anti-slip mat would make it even safer."

"The panoramic twin room we stayed in with our child was absolutely fantastic! The room was spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a breathtaking city view. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful sleep for the kids. The hotel thoughtfully provided children's toiletries, and Suri was incredibly warm, attentive, and responsive. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the French chic style was very elegant. It's truly family-friendly with a rich breakfast selection, making travel with kids super easy and worry-free. Highly recommended!"

"An excellent hotel! The common areas are beautiful, and there are jacaranda trees, a symbol of Kunming, at the entrance. I was generously upgraded to an executive king room upon check-in. The room facilities are high-quality, with extensive use of solid wood, which really connects to Yunnan's natural environment. The hotel service is outstanding, almost as if they anticipate your every need. This is definitely a top-tier hotel in Kunming and well worth the money."

"Although the hotel facilities are a bit old, they are well-maintained, and the cleanliness is quite good. The soundproofing is also excellent, and the blackout curtains are superb. It's convenient for sightseeing, very close to Nanping Pedestrian Street, Jinma Biji Archway, and Kunming Old Street, with plenty of transportation options. The hotel staff are warm and friendly. When checking out, the front desk allowed us to store our luggage while we went to buy souvenirs, which was super convenient. I highly recommend this place!"
