"Overall, I do not recommend this place. It's expensive and the location is bad. Also, Koreans seem to get assigned bad rooms. 1) Location: It's far from the main street of Ximending Station. It took over 10 minutes to walk with luggage. It's difficult to walk when it's raining or hot. Beimen Station is a 2-minute walk. After shopping at Carrefour on a rainy day, I ended up taking a taxi for less than one stop. 2) Room Assignment: I checked in at 2 PM and was given a room on the 3rd floor of a 26-story building. When I asked for a higher floor, they gave me the 6th floor. At night, the car noise outside was incredibly loud! The hotel is located next to a large intersection, and there's a lot of traffic until 2 AM, and then again starting around 6 AM. The car noise kept me from sleeping. This hotel is more expensive than new hotels connected to Osaka's Umeda Station, but the quality is terrible. It also feels like there's subtle discrimination; it seems like only Koreans are given lower-floor rooms. I saw a lot of locals and Westerners on the higher floors. 3) The room was very small, but the layout was functional, and it was clean. That's the only reason I tolerated it."

Hotel near Zhongxiao Dunhua Commercial Area,Taipei
Hotel Uketamo is Taiwan’s first wellness-focused healing hotel and the fifth original brand created by the Forte Hotel Group. The name “Uketamo” is a phonetic adaptation of the core philosophy of Japanese Yamabushi Shugendō — “Uketamo (承もう),” meaning “to accept everything.” This idea resonates deeply with Laozi and Zhuangzi’s principle of “going with nature,” as well as Nietzsche’s concept of Amor Fati — the love of one’s fate. By embracing every aspect of life, Uketamo, when read in reverse, echoes the idea of awakening — a moment of clarity where one lets go, settles into mindfulness, and attains inner calm. Only with such clarity can the best decisions truly be made.

"This isn't just a hotel; it's a true portal to a world of mindfulness and tranquility in the bustling heart of Taipei. HOTEL UKETAMO, which opened in late January 2026, is a real discovery for anyone seeking more than just a place to sleep, but a complete rejuvenation for mind and body. First off, UKETAMO is Taiwan's first hotel designed around the concept of 'mind-body integration.' Its name comes from the Japanese philosophy 'Uketamo,' meaning 'to accept everything.' And this philosophy is palpable everywhere: from the moment you step into the lobby, where the solid spruce ceiling resembles intertwined branches in a mountain forest, to every detail in the room. Its location is perfect for city explorers: right next to Exit 2 of Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station, literally a 3-minute walk. The legendary Zhongxiao shopping district surrounds it, yet inside UKETAMO, absolute silence reigns. But the most astonishing thing is the unique 'furnishings' in the rooms, unlike anything else. Each room comes with its own singing bowl (******* gong) and a yoga mat. Imagine this: after a long day of exploring the city, you return to your cozy 'hive,' brew a cup of tea from local farm-grown tea leaves thoughtfully left in your room, and indulge in a short 5-minute meditation to the sound of the bowl, allowing you to fall asleep with a clear mind. It's incredible! Speaking of sleep, the beds here are so comfortable that we woke up feeling as rested as if we'd slept for a week. The room floors are covered with grass-textured carpets, and the entire color scheme and furniture create a very soothing, almost 'silent' atmosphere. Plus, the whole hotel features an ifD air purification system and BPI ionization, so even the air here is crystal clear. The food is another level of enjoyment. Breakfast at 'Bliss & Bone' restaurant serves incredible Plant-Forward dishes (vegetables are the main stars, meat is just an accompaniment). Everything is delicious, light, and incredibly aesthetic. And throughout the day, you can pop into the cozy MN|ZO bakery on the ground floor. In short, HOTEL UKETAMO isn't just about 'staying'; it's about experiencing a small transformation. Even a simple return to the hotel after sightseeing becomes a ritual here that recharges you, rather than drains you. If you're tired of impersonal box hotels and noisy lobbies, this is the place for you. It's the best thing to happen to Taipei's hotel scene in a long time. Highly recommended!"

"The hotel's location is close to Yongkang Street, which gets quite lively on weekends. Yet, it's surprisingly quiet despite being just a 5-minute walk from various restaurants and shops. The staff provided excellent service. We booked two rooms, and since one was a triple, they kindly upgraded us to a quad room. They were also very helpful and willing to answer any questions we had! My only minor complaint is that there weren't enough charging outlets in the room... otherwise, everything else was fantastic!"

Located in Taipei’s Ximending district, just a three-minute walk from the MRT exit, Oani is a tranquil oasis hidden within the heart of the city. Named after “Oasis” and the Latin word “Ani” (spirit), it is designed to support travelers seeking calm, rhythm, and inner restoration. Here, every guest is gently understood and thoughtfully supported—so you may depart renewed, with a better version of yourself.

"I recommend staying here; the environment is ideal. However, due to my personal schedule, I didn't get to try the sweet soup late-night snack. But I did use the massage chair for two consecutive nights. On the second night of my stay, in the same female dorm room, there was some activity after 3 AM, which woke me up. Still, because I was tired enough and had earplugs and an eye mask, I was able to adapt to the hostel dorm room setup. Also, you can get pillows of different firmness from the common area. I might consider staying here again next time."

Hotel near Taipei Railway Station Area,Taipei
"Premium Double Room (with bathtub) The hotel is conveniently located near Taipei Main Station. If you're coming from the underground mall, take exit Z8. However, if you have large luggage, I'd recommend using an elevator at an earlier exit to go up to street level. From the street, walk along the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store in front of the station, heading towards the Chenzhong Fire Station. You'll reach the fire station within ten minutes, and a 7-Eleven is right next to it. The hotel is on the 5th floor. There's a bustling commercial district and many restaurants nearby. The reception isn't 24-hour, so be mindful of your arrival time. If you use self-check-in, there's a QR code at the counter for online registration, which is very straightforward. In the common area in front of reception, there's a water dispenser, and earplugs and eye masks are available for guests. The hotel has been renovated, and the room size is adequate for two people. The TV offers a basic selection of channels. While there's no bottled water in the room, there's an electric kettle (you can get water from the reception), a refrigerator, a branded hairdryer, tea bags, and snacks. Some reviews mentioned poor soundproofing, and after my stay, I can confirm that the sound insulation isn't great. My corner room happened to be directly below the building's water pump, which made noise all night long, along with the air conditioning, making it difficult to sleep. I'd advise light sleepers to try using earplugs. The bathroom facilities are generally new (there was some minor mold in corners and crevices, but it was acceptable). The shower is separated from the toilet, but the bathtub isn't, so if you take a bath, the entire bathroom floor will get wet. I didn't use the hotel's Wi-Fi, and breakfast is not provided. Despite a few minor issues, the location is convenient with plenty of food options nearby, and it's not far from the station. Overall, with its fresh renovation and new facilities, I would still consider staying here again when visiting Taipei."

"Great location. easy to find and close to eateries , shopping . MRT Ximen Exit 1 the room is spacious with ample table space for use of laptops for 2 person. Sturdy chair unlike many budget hotel with shaky chairs this is comfy. the bed is firm, pillow is soft so we request for additional pillows. plus point room is well lit again unlike many other budget hotels that are dim . my room does have windows which I like. down side toilet is cramped and could have been designed better to have the basin moved away to make the toilet fit better."

"Stayed here for 3 nights with friends. First and foremost, the location was absolutely perfect. It was convenient for getting everywhere, and there were plenty of breakfast spots, massage parlors, convenience stores, and drugstores nearby, so we never had any issues during our trip. Another great perk was the coffee, cocoa, tea, and snacks available in the lobby, allowing us to take a break whenever we wanted. It was also incredibly helpful that the staff spoke Japanese. On the downside: * There was no housekeeping or towel change during our stay (though we were able to get extra towels and water from the lobby, which solved the problem). * If you're looking for peace and quiet, be aware. The noise from adjacent rooms, upstairs/downstairs, and even the refrigerator was quite noticeable. I ended up sleeping with the complimentary earplugs. Other than that, considering the price and location, it was an excellent choice, and I'd definitely want to stay here again."
