Amazing
GGuest UserGreat stay overall. The hotel’s location is excellent close to the mall, massage places, and other conveniences. What stood out most was how friendly and helpful the staff were, making the entire stay enjoyable. Not to forget, the breakfast is simply amazing (especially the danish! Top notch quality)
BBunnnnnyLocation is a big plus. Super close to Nagoya Hill mall, which give wide range of food and massage choices. However for a hotel opened 1 year ago, I would expect better maintenance. Bed sheet had a stain that can neglect. No hairdryer. Shower area is too small. Staff are super friendly though. Guard are nice.
GGuest UserStrengths:
The hospitality was excellent, with genuinely warm and attentive service from the staff. Special recognition goes to Aditia, whose helpfulness and professionalism significantly enhanced the experience. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and clean, offering a comfortable environment complemented by a pleasant view. In addition, the hotel’s location is highly convenient, with shopping malls and a wide range of eateries within short distance.
Areas for Improvement:
One operational limitation was the hot water system. The water heater requires approximately a 30-minute interval before it can be used again, which may be inconvenient for multiple guests sharing a room. Furthermore, the hot water supply runs out relatively quickly, making it necessary to complete showers promptly or switch to cold water toward the end.
GGuest UserWe booked a family suite for 3 nights. We selected the hotel based on the generally good reviews and mainly for its location.
1) Hotel Staff
The front desk staff and the breakfast hall staff were friendly.
2) The Suite / Cleanliness / Housekeeping
The suite was reasonably spacious (though a bit aged) and generally clean except for the dirt and dust at corners and underneath the furniture. Eg. A thick layer of dust was found under the room phone and on the phone itself. Although we didn’t need to use the phone, it was placed next to the bed & pillows and that means breathing in the dust while we slept next to it. So we spent some time wiping the room and stuff with our own hand towels.
The sink near the dining table was leaking, so it doesn’t serve any purpose other than to flood the dining area if we use it. We did read about the leaking sink in an earlier review but thought it would have been resolved but obviously that was not the case.
The housekeeping is very lacking…. For a suite for 3 pax, we were given a small thin toilet roll on the 2nd day (less than half the thickness of those we buy from our supermarket). That was really insufficient for 3 person. We tried looking for the housekeeping team but they couldn’t be found. We had to use all the tissue paper that we brought with us on our trip as toilet tissue. Also, there was no shower caps issued on our 2nd yay (2 shower caps were issued on day 1 but there were 3 of us!). Out of the 3 bath towels issued, 1 was blackish brown with tattered edges. Fortunately we were prepared and brought our own disposable towels as we also read a review about the dirty/stained bath towels.
We ate at the breakfast hall on 2 mornings. The breakfast was rather limited with choices (not sure why someone previously reviewed that there was a good spread comparable to international hotels’ buffet…. Maybe he was lucky that day). We observed flies on the pastries (as there were no downlighting preventing the flies from resting on the pastries). But what surprised us was that the staff stationed at the pastry counter just looked at the flies and didn’t even bother to chase them away. Maybe he was tired of chasing them away since they will return.
3) Summary
Generally the hotel has nice friendly staff and a fantastic location with 2 shopping malls within walking distance. We also like that there was the A2 Foodcourt and many massage places nearby.
But we decided to forego our 3rd night stay in the suite as one of us was stressed about having to ration the use of toilet tissue and eating at the breakfast hall since we wouldn’t know whether any flies landed on the food earlier.
We supposed if we were to stay at Aston Inn Gideon in future, we would bring along sufficient toilet tissue, our own disposable bath towel & shower caps and avoided booking the suite (& the sink). It would have been even better if there was a choice to select rooms without hotel breakfast as we are not in the habit of sharing our food with flies 🤪
GGuest UserThe hotel itself was clean and superb, but the staff (well, atleast the ones i interacted with) and/or policy (?) could have been better.
We travelled as a big family. I booked 4 rooms. Upon entering our rooms we noticed we were in the Smoking rooms. I clarified on the front desk that I booked NON-smoking rooms for all. Shella the receptionist told us that on their record we booked Smoking rooms. I was able to contest it with proof from my records, but it was hard to convince her. She even initially told me they would re arrange the rooms because the hotel was ”full”. But when i further insisted on the mechanics of transferring the next day, she finallly said ”ok i will just transfer you now”. So that made me wonder, if she could have fixed it right away that time, why not offer it right away?
Nonetheless, when I told my family to go down (which was only 15mins interval) the receptionist privately messaged me in Whatsapp that there would be extra charges because the rooms we left (Smoking rooms) were ”used” according to housekeeping. Good thing i checked each and every room before transferring and I was 100% sure all bedsheets/towels were intact and room was untouched. When I clarified with her what they charging for she claimed housekeeping said we flushed the toilet and used a bit of toilet paper. Like ***.
If they put us in the correct room in the 1st place then this would not have happened.
I contested and she was bargaining that 1 room will be charged. But i did not budge. Until she said no more charges will be made.
This was a horrible and stubborn exchange. Not to mention the difficulty in language barrier.
While the hotel itself was clean and pleasant, this encounter with the unpleasant staff gave it a bad taste.
CCheeWH79Had a wonderful relaxing stay at Montigo. The villas are spacious and well kept. Privte pool is clean with water jet nozzles enhancing swimming experience. The highlight would be the scenic seaview. There are sufficient amenities and activities to enjoy like ATV, jet ski and various water sports. There are 5 restaurants to choose for daily meals. The Nasi Ayam Berrmpah I had for dinner at Warung was excellent. Tiiigo is a nice poolside bar to chill and chat the night away. Breakfast was average. I like the freshly made pratas. The staffs are courteous and helpful. Only downside is there no actual beach here. Only a jetty waterfront.
FFarhan HVery nice resort, especially if you traveling with family.
The hotel made arrangements to pick and drop us from Nongsa Ferry Terminal.
Lots of activities at the resort, including parasailing, jet skiing, ATV etc. These are very nicely managed by the incharge , Mr. Alam.
Very nice swimming pool and a restaurant at the resort.
There is also a gift shop at restaurant and a prayer room too.
There is a Mosque nearby resort , and the hotel provides pick and drop facility to the Mosque, if you want to pray at the Mosque.
Very clean rooms and well air conditioned. Toiletries are also good quality.
I would definitely recommend this resort to travelers…!!!
AAnonymous UserThe overall guest service is excellent with smile and willing to help upon request. One of the room got stains on bedsheets and office change for us in short time. Breakfast is ok for the price paid, don't expect too high.Swimming pool under maintenance, can't use. Overall satisfactory for a budget stay.
GGCKHVery good location and surprisingly very comfortable stay. Breakfast provided was of good variety with option for freshly fried noodles or fried rice. Very near to harbor bay ferry terminal. Will definitely stay again.
AAHMAD RIFAAIThe room is good and well maintained. We book the Tirta Premier room. It is spacious and clean. If they can upgrade the room with Internet TV will be great.
Sitting at the balcony in the evening and night is one of the best thing staying here. The sound of the sea waves and the cold sea breeze help us to relax and unwind.
Overall resort need a bit of tender and care. Still good but to attract more people staying, they need to improve some of the facilities especially the outdoor activities.
The food is something that need immediate attention. For a premium place, the food could be better.
And lastly, a bit more activities for entertainment can do wonders.
