"The hotel's location is convenient, just a 10-minute walk from the subway station. The decor is very unique, blending with the ancient capital's style. What left the deepest impression was the hotel's daily breakfast, which features a collection of Xi'an specialty snacks like oily noodles (youpo mian), rice noodles (mipi), and 'water basin' beef (shuipen niurou). The hotel's specialty snacks are even better than those outside; every day I was in Xi'an, I felt the hotel's food was the best, surpassing even highly-rated restaurants on Dazhong Dianping. Furthermore, the breakfast service was excellent – warm, polite, and very efficient. It's one of the best and most memorable service experiences I've had at a five-star hotel.👍👍"

"The hotel is on the rooftop of a building that has mainly food stalls. It was a bit tricky to get in, but once you find the elevator its easy. Else use the escalator two times and you‘re directly there. Behind the hotel is a hairdresser(for your orientation in case you don‘t see the little building immediately) The view is really nice! Inside you‘re greeted by not only one but three kitties.  The host was welcoming and stored my luggage because it was not check in time yet. I went to see the terracotta army. I recieved my passcode via Wechat and when i got into my room, my bag was already inside. I enjoyed the night view and there is a play you can listen to from afar. The afternoon tea and breakfast was nice. It wasn‘t like a gourmet experience, but tasted simple and made me appreciate the little things in life. The place is nicely decorated. I had the room with the sky view. The bed was soft. I almost went for the tatami room, but I realized the bed wouldn‘t be soft. So if you book think about what kind of experience you want. I think this place has 4 double bed rooms (2 soft bed, 2 tatami) and a family room.  Overall I definitely recommend this place. It‘s just so lovely pet and play with the cats. Luckily all of them love getting pet. Orange is just a little more shy, but is willing to with patience.  The reason I chose this is because it‘s close to the terracotta army. And I specifically chose this because Iike the interior. I always have a hard time picking hotels because I want it looking nice from the inside. I didn‘t with this one and it was worth it!"

"The front desk staff were all lovely and enthusiastic, so five stars for them. Everything else was just okay. The soundproofing in the room was poor, the bed was soft, and there was hardly anything to eat for breakfast or afternoon tea; it felt like a complete rip-off. I don't understand why all the breakfast items were pre-made, maybe only the porridge and eggs were fresh. Luckily, there were two hot eggs..."

Hotel near The bell tower The drum tower/The Xi’an Circumvallation,Xi'an
"This is more than a hotel. It is a sanctuary in the middle of bustling Xi'an. We were always welcomed with a warm smile by the staff daily. The hotel was tastefully designed and exuded warmth and calmness. The clever use of earthly colours and heavy accent on the usage of timber created an inviting atmosphere. The usage of lightings to highlight certain objects while casting shadows around said objects created an impression of an art gallery. One word to describe this hotel.... LOVELY!!! The butler service in servicing breakfast, afternoon tea and supper was highly appreciated. One added bonus for me was that I was able to photograph Bell Tower in peace and luxury at the top open deck. Highly recommended this hotel for relaxation and also photographing Bell Tower"

"This was my third visit to the Huaqing Palace, and it was only by staying at this hotel that I truly understood what Huaqing Palace is all about and why it's so special. To truly appreciate it, you have to experience Huaqing Palace under Mount Li after the crowds have dispersed at dusk and before they arrive in the morning. While there are other decent hotels nearby, this is the only one located within the Huaqing Palace grounds. Almost every room comes with a private hot spring, and I particularly recommend the rooms with an outdoor private hot spring – the experience is simply wonderful. The hotel staff are all very friendly, and the restaurant is quite impressive; I had all my meals at the hotel during my stay. Although the restaurant is a short walk from the hotel, there's a shuttle service, and it's not a long walk anyway. On a nice day, you can even enjoy the scenery along the way and digest your meal. All in all, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way, with no disappointments whatsoever. If I come back again, it will definitely be my top choice."

Hotel near Dayan Pagoda/The Grand Tang Mall,Xi'an
Tang Paradise is the first large scale royal theme park in China which represents the High Tang culture in all directions. By modern touring modes, it integrates the brilliant Tang culture in the garden, to make tourists “enter history, experience culture and life”, and find the spiritual root of the Chinese nation.Fanglinyuan Hotel is located in the core area of Qujiang New District, south of Xi’an. It lies within Tang Paradise, the royal garden of High Tang, adjoins Great Tang All Day Mall, a well-known block, and faces the Dayan Pagoda with a history of over 1,300 years. The hotel was built in the Tang royal garden style, and the architectural design was masterminded by Mr. Zhang Jinqiu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.Fanglinyuan Hotel is a unique Tang-style royal boutique luxury hotel. While inheriting the quintessential culture of Great Tang, the hotel provides guests with the best personalized and meticulous service and unforgettable experience during their stay, truly achieving the goal of being an irreplaceable “oriental culture-based” hotel.

"Facilities: The suite was spacious, the bedding was comfortable, and having two TVs, a bathtub, and a smart toilet made it perfect for families. The hotel truly embraces the garden hotel concept, with rooms spread across one or two floors. If you're traveling with elderly family members, I recommend choosing a ground-floor room, as I heard there's no elevator to the second floor. Cleanliness: The room was spotless, and the decorations and lounge areas in the common spaces were all very tidy. I was particularly impressed by the floor-to-ceiling windows, which offered a 'step-by-step' scenic view and were incredibly clean. You could easily take photos of peacocks, Furong Garden, and even the distant Big Wild Goose Pagoda – I was very pleased. Environment: This is simply top-notch! The unlimited access to Datang Furong Garden and its location right inside the scenic area makes it all worthwhile. I was also surprised at how quiet the room was despite being in such a bustling area. Even during the Chang'an Lantern Festival, I could lie in my room with the window open and it wasn't overly noisy. Taking photos of the garden scenery within the hotel grounds was beautiful, and it's just a 2-minute walk into Furong Garden. Especially when the crowds are surging, being able to experience both the vibrant atmosphere and the peaceful solitude here was amazing. Service: Because it was during the Spring Festival, check-in at the front desk was a little slow. However, the young ladies serving breakfast were very enthusiastic. It happened to be the fifth day of the ***** New Year, welcoming the God of Wealth, and we even encountered the hotel's 'God of Wealth' who gave us chocolate gold coins – thank you! The three security guards at the entrance to Datang Furong Garden were all wonderful. Seeing that we had elderly people with us, they always opened the door for us in advance and reminded us to be careful. The hotel's reception staff also showed the same care. During breakfast, a child at the next table climbed up on a chair while his parents were getting food, and a staff member gently intervened and even played with the child, showing more patience than the child's own family. This shows that the hotel's training in service awareness for its employees is truly excellent, meaning those traveling with children and elderly family members can stay here with peace of mind. Oh, and the 'he-luo' noodles and 'you-cha' (oil tea) at breakfast were delicious. A small suggestion: Could you please add soy milk to the breakfast spread? Also, the milk and other beverages could use larger containers. I saw the service staff refilling the small pitchers repeatedly, and it seemed like three guests could empty one in no time. Another thing is that delivery drivers can bring food directly to the room, which was fine for us traveling in a group. But I worry that a solo guest might feel uneasy. Using robots or having the front desk deliver, which is a common practice, would be much better, especially since our hotel ranks among the top ones! Once again, thank you to every staff member and security guard. Wishing you all a prosperous Year of the Horse!"

"I thought this hotel’s standards fell somewhat short of what we are used to with Banyan Tree properties. Partly, it is older. Partly, cleaning staff were careless. Partly, some design choices made the room hard to maintain. The toilet and bathroom were tiled with travertine, a highly porous stone which traps moisture and encourages mould growth. The toilet smelled of pee due to urine droplets absorbed into the porous stone. The shower cubicle had very bad mould stains, again, due to the porosity of the stone. The cleaning lady had a great attitude, friendly and warm. Unfortunately, her cleaning standards were low. There was a layer of dust on the balcony’s handrail. She slapped her cloth over to dust and after she left, the dust settled again. She cursorily cleaned the toilet and shower area… and after she left, the strong pee smell was still there. The corridor smelled of smoke. There were 2 air purifiers in the suite. We switched them on but my husband still developed an itchy throat from the smoke pollution. We complained to the cleaning lady, who cheerfully informed us that smoke smells are to be expected. Once we escalated the issue, the service recovery was excellent, however. Friendly and warm, a lady moved us to another room that seemed to have seen lesser wear and tear. In the new suite and corridor, there was no smoke smell. The toilet had only a very faint pee smell. It was better but still disappointing considering that this is a Banyan Tree property. Neither of the suites had a Chinese teapot. I was a bit taken aback. I was told that it was available on request. I guess it is because this is a children friendly hotel and maybe pretty teapots break when kids run about? In any case, I suggest a small card placed where the cups and saucers are kept, informing guests that Chinese teapots can be requested."

"I was absolutely blown away by the lake view room at W Xi'an! It truly lives up to its reputation as Asia's flagship luxury trendy hotel. Choosing a lake view room was definitely the best decision of my trip to Xi'an ✨ The room is incredibly spacious and expansive, with an open and grand layout. The modern, trendy design mixed with elements of the prosperous Tang Dynasty era gives it a sophisticated feel. The entire panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows plus the private viewing balcony offer an unbeatable view, directly facing Qujiang Lake with a 180-degree vista. Opening the window reveals the shimmering lake and lush greenery everywhere. In the morning, I was gently awakened by the sunlight and lake view, with a misty lake creating a fantastic atmosphere. In the evening, I watched the sunset paint the sky red, and after nightfall, the twinkling lights of the city blended with the nightscape of Qujiang. Whether lying in bed or sitting on the balcony, I could immerse myself in the stunning night views of Chang'an, even glimpsing the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the distance. Every moment was a healing masterpiece. The bedding was incredibly soft and skin-friendly, making for a super comfortable sleep – I didn't want to get out of bed. The bathtub by the window also allowed me to enjoy the lake view while soaking, making for a truly relaxing experience."

"We booked a unique cave dwelling (yaodong) near the Terracotta Army, and our stay truly exceeded expectations. Ambiance: The cave dwelling itself is very charming and was impeccably clean. It felt very natural and rustic; we drifted off to sleep with the soothing sounds of crickets at night. Most importantly, the owners were absolutely wonderful and incredibly welcoming, making us feel like we were staying at a long-time friend's house. The special breakfast, personally prepared by the owner, was also a highlight, and our kids absolutely loved it. Plus, staying here offers the unique experience of making your own Terracotta Warriors. The owner also recommended a night market frequented by locals nearby, and a beautiful spot to watch the sunset on Mount Li's 'Akina Mountain Road.' These recommendations were truly pleasant surprises of our road trip."
