LlouxiaoyiiI stayed one night at Wuzhen Hengyitang Health Guesthouse, and all I can say is: it was absolutely worth the trip! I really wanted to stay another night, but unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked, so I reluctantly had to book another guesthouse.
First, I have to give a shout-out to our butler, Huangqi. He deserves all the praise. From the moment I arrived at the parking lot, he met me, helped with my luggage, and guided me into the scenic area. I didn't have to worry about a thing the entire time. During my stay, he helped me book a sound bowl healing session, and after the experience, I felt completely cleansed and incredibly relaxed. He also thoughtfully arranged a private boat ride for us. Gliding slowly through the archways in a sculling boat was an amazing experience.
The hotel itself is also full of character. It's a renovated old house, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle. What's particularly noteworthy is the opportunity to make traditional Chinese medicine sachets. There are pre-set formulas, or you can choose a few herbs you like, put them into a small fabric bag, and take it home to hang by your bedside. Smelling it every day brings a sense of calm. The room was clean, the bedding was comfortable, and breakfast was à la carte. With a health and wellness theme, the meals incorporated medicinal ingredients, making them both exquisite and delicious.
In short, if you're planning a trip to Wuzhen, I wholeheartedly recommend Hengyitang, and even more so, I recommend asking for butler Huangqi. He'll make you feel like you're not just staying at a hotel, but that you've gained a friend in the area. Next time, I'll definitely book several nights in advance!
