MirinaVThe hotel has a great location—the main shopping street and the waterfront are within walking distance. The metro is within walking distance, which is very important (a two-minute walk). This is especially important because, when returning to the hotel tired in the evening, we could quickly get from the metro to the hotel. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to the reception manager, Suki — she helped us arrange our domestic flight to the Avatar Mountains (we couldn't check in or choose seats). She was a very pleasant and responsible woman! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

YizhixiaobingganaSummary: The worst service I've ever encountered in a hotel of this caliber.
I stayed for 2 days. On the first night when I checked in, I noticed there was no doorman at the hotel entrance to open car doors or help with luggage. I asked the front desk if no one was on duty at night. The manager, who had a great attitude, said someone might have been out delivering something, and that it was quieter at night but they would improve. (He had a very good attitude and offered me breakfast, though I didn't eat it as I don't usually have breakfast).
Then I asked the front desk for a latex pillow. I waited for half an hour upstairs, but it wasn't delivered. When I called, they said they forgot.
Next, while looking for a charging port by the bed, I knocked over a glass and got really annoyed as to why the glass was placed by the bedside late at night (this was my fault, as I was quite angry at the time). The manager, with a great attitude, came to help clean it up, and I even went to the front desk the next day to apologize.
Second day: I left my earphones, cigarettes, and lighter in the car. I messaged the driver to arrange for the concierge to bring them up. They were never brought up until the next day when I was checking out to go to the airport. I asked the driver why they hadn't been brought up, and the driver said he had given them to the concierge last night. I went to ask: the concierge said they forgot to deliver them.
By the way: when I returned to the hotel on the second night, I still noticed there was no doorman or security. Car doors and luggage were unattended.
I really don't know! What exactly is the concierge at this hotel doing! What are they responsible for!!!
Facilities: The facilities are very good, the rooms are large, and the walk-in closet is excellent. I usually try out the pool and gym at every hotel, but I wasn't in the mood this time. I won't be coming back.

The Shanghai Yangtze Hotel is a hotel I wholeheartedly recommend. I had already fallen in love with this hotel from pictures, with its amazing Republic of China-era Shanghai ambiance. So, there was no question in my mind about staying here this time. The hotel's transportation is incredibly convenient; it's super easy to get around. The subway station is practically at the doorstep, about 20 meters away – almost zero distance! The bedding was of superior quality, ensuring an excellent night's sleep. The bathroom was spacious, with a well-arranged layout for the wash basin, vanity, bathtub, shower, and toilet. It was fully equipped, even featuring a smart toilet. The walk-in closet was amply sized, and I loved that the light didn't harshy glare on when you opened the door; it automatically turned off after a minute, a truly thoughtful design. Breakfast was extensive, a great blend of Chinese and Western options, and tasted delicious. All the hotel staff were polite and attentive, making for a very comfortable experience. I will definitely choose the Shanghai Yangtze Hotel again next time.

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, with easy access to transportation. While the room facilities aren't the newest, the bedding was comfortable, making for a very relaxing stay. The front desk staff were quite friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. Overall, the hotel's environment and cleanliness are far superior to express hotels in the same price range. Highly recommend.

fanta2015For my last night in Shanghai, I chose the YMCA Hotel.
1. **Location is amazing!** It's just a 2-minute walk from the exit of Dashijie Metro Station. Right next door is Xian De Lai, a renowned Chinese time-honored brand restaurant, and every dish there is delicious.
2. **The hotel itself is a historic building** with deep roots. The relief carvings on the stairs, along with the emerald green ceilings and carpets, give it a unique and distinctive feel.
3. **The room facilities are comprehensive.** It features a wet/dry separation bathroom, a smart toilet as standard, and even a safe. The hand soap on the vanity smelled so good, I actually looked it up because I want to buy it! 😀
4. **Three bonus details:** There were alcohol wipes next to the toilet, a clever foldable metal clothes rack on the wall, and the disposable slippers were of really good quality.

Guest UserThe experience at Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund far exceeded my expectations! The room faced the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, and the night view was stunning. I could admire Shanghai's vibrant cityscape right from my bed. The service was incredibly attentive; every staff member had a warm smile and responded to requests super fast. The biggest surprise was that takeaways could be delivered directly to the room, which is perfect for a lazy person like me. From the view and service to the small details, everything was impeccable. Definitely worth another visit!

wangying_0418The European Baroque style is grand, and even the basic rooms are spacious at over 70 sqm, featuring a 2.2-meter king-size bed, a balcony, and a well-designed layout that makes for a very comfortable stay. The service is warm and friendly, breakfast and the buffet are plentiful, and the pool is beautiful. It's suitable for both families with children and business travelers. The downsides are that some facilities are a bit dated since the hotel has been open for several years, the location is a bit out in the suburbs and far from the subway, a few rooms occasionally have some minor cleaning issues in corners, and the underground parking entrance is a bit narrow.

Guest UserFive out of five stars, highly recommend Regent Shanghai Pudong! Nestled in the heart of Lujiazui, the location is simply impeccable. The most stunning feature was undoubtedly the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows in the room. By day, you can feast your eyes on the Lujiazui skyline, and as night falls, the Oriental Pearl Tower and surrounding skyscrapers light up, offering a breathtaking view of Shanghai's magical nightscape. You can enjoy this prime, bustling scenery right from your bed, and the viewing experience far exceeded my expectations.
The room's cleanliness thoroughly surpassed what I anticipated. The entire room was spotless, without a trace of dirt or dust in corners, bathrooms, or on window sills. The bedding was soft and dry, bathroom amenities were neatly arranged, and the space felt open and airy. The decor was understated yet luxurious, with every detail reflecting the quality of a high-end hotel.
My entire stay was comfortable and seamless. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the staff were gentle and professional. The facilities were comprehensive. This hotel is perfectly suited for both tourists exploring Shanghai and business travelers. This stay left a fantastic impression, and I will definitely prioritize Regent Pudong on my next visit to Shanghai!

This appears to be an older hotel though maintenance was done to keep things running and clean. It is in a good location in the city for our planned activities. There was ease of access and I liked that the facility had laundry self service available on site 24 hours per day. The laundry access was the most important because I traveled light and I went in August when it was the hottest and most humid time in Shanghai. Staff were professional and greeter at the door helped with opening and closing car doors and getting luggage out of car. Hotel lobby was well lit and spacious and comfortable. My parents with my sisters got a room with a broken bathroom door and non-working phone. Once staff were informed, they were quick to move them to a different room. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to fully explore the hotel and utilize the gym and swimming pool.
The hotel room I had was comfortable with everything working. It was well lit and the AC system functioned very well.
The only thing I did not like was the smoke smell in the hallways.
Smoking cigarettes is a huge problem in China and of course the hotel has no control over this. However they can implement better air filtration and cleaning systems as many travelers may be asthmatic or have strong allergic sensitivity to the smoke particles.
