Anonymous UserI had a really pleasant stay at this new hotel. The location is very convenient, and I was impressed by their high-tech automated parking system. It was a unique and interesting experience to use such an advanced parking facility.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
One thing I really want to highlight is the shower water pressure. Whenever I stay at a hotel, one of the first things I look for is whether the shower water is strong enough. Many hotels I have stayed at have weak water pressure, but this hotel really surprised me. The water flow was powerful and comfortable, making the shower experience very enjoyable.
Overall, this is one of the most comfortable hotel stays I’ve had. The modern facilities, friendly service, and excellent shower experience made my stay memorable. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend this hotel.

Anonymous UserPositive -have requested for a connecting room, and hotel arranged the connecting room for us.
The buffer restaurant got a nice view, but not our room,
Negative - we were allocated the room could see the opposite building closely, means other buildings could see us as well. No privacy at all.
Rooms getting a bit dated
The rubbish bin not clean up every day
We haven't been notified there was a short renovation upstairs in the afternoon, we were taking rest at the hotel by that time.
The worse is after we come back from dinner, the light at the corridor and in our room all dark. This is the first time I experienced all night off in my hotel room. The manager told me that because we switched off the main switch, and made both rooms light off. Do you think it is possible for us even turn off the corridor light and another room night? In fact, we never turn off the light.

Guest UserThis hotel is absolutely worth staying at! The heritage wing's design is exquisite, like a small museum waiting to be explored. While the rooms do have a noticeable historical feel, a bit old with some creaky noises and dated switches, this rich historical ambiance and style are precisely what make this hotel so special. Plus, guests in the old wing get fantastic perks: a generous minibar with wine, snacks, and a full range of beers, sodas, and juices, along with happy hour benefits, and even the daily newspaper delivered each morning with a lovely ritual.
The pool and sea view are simply unbeatable. Breakfast in the old wing is à la carte and tastes great, though the dining area is quite small, so you might have a long wait. If that's an issue, you can always head to the new wing for their buffet breakfast instead.

DafeiyangThe room isn't huge, but it was perfect for two people. When I checked in, I asked for a sea-view room, and the view was absolutely stunning. The hotel having a gym and a swimming pool is a huge plus! It's super convenient with a mall next door, and it was so easy to visit all the nearby attractions and try out local food spots – everything was about a 20-minute walk away. Getting to the airport takes about 30 minutes if there's no traffic. I highly recommend this place! There are water dispensers on every floor, which is great for refilling bottles. The bed isn't huge, but it's comfortable enough to sleep on. If I come back to Penang, I'd definitely choose to stay here again.

Ching Sze Cindy ChiuThis is one of the best places I have stayed in SE Asia! The shophouses are cute and spacious (we stayed in Indian Shophouse and our parents stayed in another king’s size bedroom), the aesthetics inside the room and especially in the lobby/ afternoon tea area/ breakfast cafe is incredible and nostalgic. Great services from the staff and so friendly that you feel you are being taken good care of. Also got the cutest cats too! The location is unbeatable - we can walk to everywhere in Georgetown and to the Esplanade with ease. Highly recommended for travelers to stay here!

After much thought, I still believe that a well-established five-star hotel is the most reliable choice. This Jen hotel is incredibly close to all the attractions, and you can even walk to the street art murals. There's a decent-sized shopping mall nearby, along with a supermarket and Starbucks. Although the hotel facilities are a bit dated, the service is still excellent. The breakfast, in particular, offers a great variety, including freshly stir-fried kway teow and freshly cooked noodle soup. I'd definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Penang!

Alading-shendengOverall, it's pretty good and offers good value for money.
Transportation: You can take a taxi to the Old Town or walk for 20 minutes. The hotel's area is relatively quiet and tidy. As an aside, I struggled with the accommodation area for a long time before my trip. I'm fine with the OZO area, but if I were to go again, I personally would prefer the Gurney Bay area. The atmosphere and cleanliness are much better there. Many parts of the Old Town are too old and chaotic.
Cleanliness was satisfactory, even exceeding expectations. For service, I didn't encounter any Mandarin-speaking staff, but everyone was very friendly.
Facilities: The rooftop pool has an excellent view directly facing the sea. It was wonderful to relax there every day. The breakfast restaurant also has a good view, and while the variety isn't huge, it's sufficient. In-room facilities are standard for a business hotel. I actually found it very convenient to get water from the water dispenser on my floor.
There are two downsides: 1. The towels are very old and should be replaced; I used my own the entire time. 2. For some unknown reason, the Wi-Fi was extremely poor during my stay. My World Cup viewing corner's internet TV was almost unusable due to buffering. For tourists, poor internet is a significant issue.

Guest UserRevisiting Penang this year, I chose to stay at Cititel Express again. The hotel had already arranged for early check-in via email, which I found very thoughtful and the service was perfect!
Our family booked three rooms, and all of them were still clean and hygienic. Most importantly, there were no strange odors in the rooms. The bed linen and duvet covers were spotless with no dirty marks, and the air conditioning was excellent. The pool was even cleaner and more hygienic than last year. I also noticed many maintenance staff doing renovation and inspection work, which made me feel that the hotel management is excellent. Many new restaurants have opened near the hotel, reachable by foot without needing a car. A taxi from the airport to the hotel takes only about half an hour, which is very convenient. Next time we visit Penang, this hotel will still be our top choice!

Russ817Totally enjoyed my staycation here! The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. I loved how cold the air conditioning was, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. The location is also very strategic, with plenty of local food options just a few minutes away. Would definitely stay here again ☺️

Guest UserThe Round Hotel in George Town, Penang, Malaysia boasts an excellent location, allowing guests to walk to some of the World Heritage-listed areas. There are also convenience stores and restaurants right outside the hotel. The rooms are quiet and clean, and the service is patient and thoughtful. The front desk staff even kindly translated relevant information into Chinese for us to read. When I mentioned that my room didn't have a sofa, which was inconvenient, the front desk immediately took me to choose another room until I was satisfied. This is truly a 10/10 service! 👍👍👍 For a hotel priced at just over 200 RMB, it even offers a buffet breakfast, which makes it great value for money.
