George Town Hotels with Breakfast

I had an excellent stay at G Hotel Gurney in the Executive Suite. The suite was spacious, modern, and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed and a great view. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Penang. The hotel’s location is fantastic, right next to Gurney Plaza and within walking distance of many popular eateries. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, making the entire stay even more enjoyable. The Executive Lounge was a great addition, offering a quiet and comfortable space to unwind with complimentary refreshments. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection of local and international dishes. Overall, everything from the room quality to the service exceeded my expectations. I would definitely choose G Hotel Gurney again on my next visit to Penang and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay.

Just stayed at the new Capri by Fraser Penang and loved it. The design is gorgeous, especially the huge arched window in the room facing the city roofs and the beautiful terrazzo bathroom. The location is perfect and right in town. You can easily walk to three malls (Gama, Prangin Mall, 1st Avenue), nearby convenience stores, local food, cafes, and restaurants. There is ongoing LRT construction opposite the hotel (slated for 2030 or later), but it didn't affect the stay. Great facilities (pool, gym, sauna) and I loved the floor water refill stations with the eco-friendly glass bottles provided in the room. The staff were super friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out. Recommended for anyone visiting Penang who wants a fresh, modern, and highly convenient place to stay.

Despite being in a foreign land, your timely and thoughtful assistance was incredibly valuable, and I'm truly grateful. Secondly, and I say this objectively and without exaggeration, this is hands down one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, if not *the* best. Words can barely describe it – from the ambiance to the hotel itself, and the impeccable service, everything was flawless. You could call it a first-class sea-view park, a luxurious villa, or even a museum... Finally, I want to clarify that my glowing review isn't because of the help I received; it's genuinely because they are, without a doubt, one of the world's most outstanding hotels!

The room isn't huge, but it was perfect for two people. When I checked in, I asked for a sea-view room, and the view was absolutely stunning. The hotel having a gym and a swimming pool is a huge plus! It's super convenient with a mall next door, and it was so easy to visit all the nearby attractions and try out local food spots – everything was about a 20-minute walk away. Getting to the airport takes about 30 minutes if there's no traffic. I highly recommend this place! There are water dispensers on every floor, which is great for refilling bottles. The bed isn't huge, but it's comfortable enough to sleep on. If I come back to Penang, I'd definitely choose to stay here again.

Excellent! The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to the Blue House. The hotel's design and ambiance are simply beautiful. It felt less like staying in a hotel and more like being a guest in the home of someone with great taste and an appreciation for art. The front desk service was also very good – friendly and they spoke Chinese. Although breakfast was simple, it tasted great. As the last stop on our trip, it truly felt like a well-deserved treat.

We were a family of five, including two adults, two elderly family members, and a 4-year-old boy, and stayed at JEN Penang for two nights. The hotel is in a very convenient location, with shopping malls and many well-known local restaurants within a 5 to 10-minute walking distance. However, due to Penang's hot and humid weather, I would not recommend walking outdoors between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast offered a reasonable variety of options and was sufficient for a pleasant start to the day. The hotel has a swimming pool, although it is relatively small. One side of the pool, which accounts for about one-third of its size, has a depth of 2 metres. As a result, the usable space for younger swimmers is somewhat limited, and the pool can feel crowded during the afternoon. There is also a separate children's pool, which is suitable for toddlers aged around 2 to 3 years old. While the hotel generally met our expectations, it does feel a little dated in some areas. We also encountered some cleanliness issues in our bathroom, which was disappointing and not quite what we expected from a property under the Shangri-La Group. In addition, it would be a nice touch if children's amenities could be provided proactively at check-in for families travelling with young children, rather than requiring guests to request them separately. Overall, the hotel's excellent location, friendly service, and family-friendly facilities make it a good choice for exploring George Town and Penang. With some improvements to housekeeping standards and family amenities, the guest experience could be even better.

Overall, it's pretty good and offers good value for money. Transportation: You can take a taxi to the Old Town or walk for 20 minutes. The hotel's area is relatively quiet and tidy. As an aside, I struggled with the accommodation area for a long time before my trip. I'm fine with the OZO area, but if I were to go again, I personally would prefer the Gurney Bay area. The atmosphere and cleanliness are much better there. Many parts of the Old Town are too old and chaotic. Cleanliness was satisfactory, even exceeding expectations. For service, I didn't encounter any Mandarin-speaking staff, but everyone was very friendly. Facilities: The rooftop pool has an excellent view directly facing the sea. It was wonderful to relax there every day. The breakfast restaurant also has a good view, and while the variety isn't huge, it's sufficient. In-room facilities are standard for a business hotel. I actually found it very convenient to get water from the water dispenser on my floor. There are two downsides: 1. The towels are very old and should be replaced; I used my own the entire time. 2. For some unknown reason, the Wi-Fi was extremely poor during my stay. My World Cup viewing corner's internet TV was almost unusable due to buffering. For tourists, poor internet is a significant issue.

Revisiting Penang this year, I chose to stay at Cititel Express again. The hotel had already arranged for early check-in via email, which I found very thoughtful and the service was perfect! Our family booked three rooms, and all of them were still clean and hygienic. Most importantly, there were no strange odors in the rooms. The bed linen and duvet covers were spotless with no dirty marks, and the air conditioning was excellent. The pool was even cleaner and more hygienic than last year. I also noticed many maintenance staff doing renovation and inspection work, which made me feel that the hotel management is excellent. Many new restaurants have opened near the hotel, reachable by foot without needing a car. A taxi from the airport to the hotel takes only about half an hour, which is very convenient. Next time we visit Penang, this hotel will still be our top choice!

The room was clean and smelled nice upon entry. The water pressure was good, and all amenities were provided. The only downside was that the soundproofing wasn't great. The breakfast selection was limited. However, the location was excellent, close to many dinner options, cafes, and restaurants. The staff provided good service. It was definitely worth the price I paid. Also, it's close to souvenir shops.

Totally enjoyed my staycation here! The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. I loved how cold the air conditioning was, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. The location is also very strategic, with plenty of local food options just a few minutes away. Would definitely stay here again ☺️
