George Town Hotels with Breakfast

Positive -have requested for a connecting room， and hotel arranged the connecting room for us. The buffer restaurant got a nice view, but not our room, Negative - we were allocated the room could see the opposite building closely, means other buildings could see us as well. No privacy at all. Rooms getting a bit dated The rubbish bin not clean up every day We haven't been notified there was a short renovation upstairs in the afternoon, we were taking rest at the hotel by that time. The worse is after we come back from dinner, the light at the corridor and in our room all dark. This is the first time I experienced all night off in my hotel room. The manager told me that because we switched off the main switch, and made both rooms light off. Do you think it is possible for us even turn off the corridor light and another room night? In fact, we never turn off the light.

This hotel offers incredible value for money! For 1200 RMB, I got a room with a sea view balcony and a spacious shower – absolutely perfect 💯. It's super close to the Blue Mansion; you can just exit the heritage wing lobby, cross the street where there's a HeyTea and a bar street, and then cross another street near a gas station, and you'll be right at the Blue Mansion and the Red Garden food market. Many famous people have stayed here, and it beautifully blends history with modern touches, all while having that lovely Nanyang resort vibe. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Penang!

This is one of the best places I have stayed in SE Asia! The shophouses are cute and spacious (we stayed in Indian Shophouse and our parents stayed in another king’s size bedroom), the aesthetics inside the room and especially in the lobby/ afternoon tea area/ breakfast cafe is incredible and nostalgic. Great services from the staff and so friendly that you feel you are being taken good care of. Also got the cutest cats too! The location is unbeatable - we can walk to everywhere in Georgetown and to the Esplanade with ease. Highly recommended for travelers to stay here!

The day I checked in, the person who assisted me spoke English, and they understood simple requests, so communication was easy. All the important information was provided in both Chinese and English, making check-in a breeze. The room was quite clean, and the one I booked was over 40 square meters, which was very spacious for two adults and two children. The doormen were always smiling, making every entry and exit a pleasant experience. It’s super convenient to walk to places like Mural Street from here. Even our taxi driver commented on how good our hotel was, highly recommending it!

This stay was absolutely fantastic! I definitely have to give it a five-star rating. The hotel's location is super convenient, with a 7-Eleven right downstairs and plenty of food options nearby. The room was spotless, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring I had a great night's sleep. I especially want to commend the service; everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping staff was incredibly friendly and responsive. Next time I'm in Penang, I'll definitely stay here again! Highly recommend it to everyone!

On a business trip to Penang, I'd stayed here before and chose this hotel again. The location is excellent, about a 30-minute drive from Penang International Airport. There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping malls nearby, and it's not far from the Street Art area. The front desk is on the 20th floor; the staff are friendly, and there's a comfortable business and lounge area. The room amenities are comprehensive and clean. This time, I noticed they added a water dispenser, which is eco-friendly and convenient for guests from different countries, offering warm, hot, and iced water. Breakfast on the 21st floor isn't extensive but decent. There's also a good cafe right opposite the hotel with nice breakfast options. Overall, a great experience. I'll choose this hotel again next time.

The staff were friendly, polite, and generally helpful throughout our stay. The location is also a strong point, with plenty of restaurants and shopping malls nearby, and the Clan Jetties are within walking distance. Unfortunately, the check-in experience left much to be desired. Before arriving, I had emailed the hotel to enquire about an early check-in as we were travelling with elderly family members. I fully understood that this might not be possible due to the peak holiday season, which was perfectly reasonable. Upon arriving around 11am, we were advised to return after 1pm. We came back shortly after 2pm but were informed that our rooms were still not ready. We were prepared to wait until the official check-in time of 3pm, but even then, the rooms were unavailable. We were repeatedly told ”10 more minutes”, only for those 10 minutes to become 30 minutes and then even longer. In the end, we did not receive our rooms until approximately 3:40pm. What made the situation particularly frustrating was seeing guests who arrived after us being checked in ahead of us. The explanation given was that a supervisor needed to inspect the rooms before they could be released. While delays can happen, clearer communication and realistic timelines would have been far more appreciated than being repeatedly asked to wait another 10 minutes. To make matters worse, one of our rooms had pillows and blankets with an unpleasant odour, which raised questions about the room readiness that had caused such a lengthy delay. For guests driving, parking may be challenging as there are only a limited number of parallel parking spaces available. Even for those arriving by taxi or private hire, the drop-off and pick-up process can be somewhat inconvenient. There is also a Heritage Fee payable upon check-in, which was acceptable and clearly communicated. Complimentary coffee and biscuits are available, and water dispensers are conveniently located near the lifts, although bottled water is not provided in the rooms. The check-out process was also slightly unusual, as guests are required to wait for staff confirmation before leaving. Overall, the stay was comfortable and the location was convenient. However, I value hotels that provide a smooth and efficient check-in experience. Delays are understandable, especially during busy periods, but guests deserve honest communication and accurate updates rather than repeated promises of ”10 more minutes.” With better management of the arrival experience, this would have been a much more enjoyable stay.

Totally enjoyed my staycation here! The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. I loved how cold the air conditioning was, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. The location is also very strategic, with plenty of local food options just a few minutes away. Would definitely stay here again ☺️

Great location - walkable to street art areas, Armenia Street, Chulia Street, Chinatown, Love Lane etc. Nice rooftop area (needs some shade, hot tubs were open but a bit grubby). Rooms are spacious, well designed (lots of lighting options and sockets) and kept clean and tidy by the lovely Sham. Shower gets nice and hot and great pressure Helpful and friendly staff. Would stay here again and recommend. Make sure you have some cash for the key deposit.
