GGuest UserI chose this hotel's panoramic Bund view king room specifically for my business trip to Shanghai, and the moment I opened the door, I knew I’d made the right choice. [Coffee]
The room is on a high floor, with a floor-to-ceiling window directly facing the Bund. Even during the day, the view was expansive, but it wasn't until night fell that I truly understood what 'stunning' meant. Around 6 PM, as dusk settled, the lights across the river began to flicker on one by one – first the outline of the Oriental Pearl Tower, then the glass facades of Lujiazui's 'three giants', and finally, the entire Huangpu River shoreline illuminated, winding before my eyes like a golden ribbon.
I just sat on the window-side sofa, doing nothing but gazing out. Tourist boats glided slowly across the river, trailing streaks of light; in the distance, the Bund's historic buildings, bathed in warm yellow light, unfolded like a slowly revealing painting of old Shanghai. It was a peculiar feeling – to be in the heart of a bustling metropolis, yet, thanks to this window and this room, to have a quiet, private viewing platform all to myself.
The room itself was also impressive. The king-size bed faced the window, so I woke up to the morning light on the Bund and could enjoy the night view before drifting off to sleep, making even bedtime feel ceremonial. The bedding was very comfortable, the pillows were just right (neither too soft nor too firm), and the mattress provided perfect support. After a day of walking, lying down completely relaxed me.
The bathroom was also noteworthy; the wet and dry areas were well-separated and very clean, and the hot water came quickly with good pressure. The toiletries had a subtle woody scent that wasn't overpowering, leaving a pleasant fragrance after showering.
The service was equally excellent. The front desk staff were very welcoming during check-in, proactively recommending nearby restaurants and the best viewing times. The room came with welcome fruits and a handwritten card, showing thoughtful attention to detail. When I wanted a cup of hot water in the middle of the night, it was delivered quickly after a phone call, with no hint of impatience.
And the location, of course, is unbeatable. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Bund, and getting to Nanjing Road and Yu Garden is very convenient. Honestly, once I checked in, I didn't even want to go out – why jostle with crowds on the Bund when I could enjoy the night view peacefully with a cup of tea right in my room?
The only minor regret was that it was a bit cloudy on my check-in day, making the distant skyline a little hazy. But on second thought, the misty river combined with the lights added a certain poetic blur, which was also a unique experience in itself.
If I come to Shanghai again, I will definitely choose this room. After all, turning the Huangpu River's night view into your room's 'background wall' – that experience is truly worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to fully appreciate the Bund's night scenery – trust me, you won't be disappointed.
