I stayed one night out of my 3-day, 2-night trip before the cruise, but I should have stayed two nights. 👍 A travel power strip is essential for Koreans. I didn't have one, so I bought one at Walgreens in front. It was expensive."

InterContinental Hotels AT DORAL MIAMI by IHG
"We stayed here after a cruise. Check-in was at 9pm, so we couldn't use the club room's cocktail time or afternoon tea. We had breakfast in the club lounge. It was very delicious. They let us check out late and offered a free shuttle to the mall, so as we were staying at a hotel near the mall, we asked to be dropped off at our hotel, and they gladly did. It's a very nice hotel."

Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel and Executive Meeting Center
"What used to be my favorite, 'go to Miami hotel' after all night flights from Portland Oregon and Montevideo, Uruguay, sure changed on my last visit. After an all night flight of 9 hours and 20 min preceded by a bus ride and afternoon wait for my plane I was glad I was headed to the Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel and Executive Meeting Center to get in my room early and take a hot bath in one of their tubs. I also was happy to be going to the reliably clean Sheraton, to sort out my suitcase. This time I made the mistake on arriving on a Sunday, when the boat cruise people had helped to fill the hotel and this large hotel was completely full. A staffer said he'd put a rush on my room. Although I was exhausted, I patiently waited two and a half hours, before I asked if I could have a pillow and a blanket to lie somewhere in the lobby. I wish this had been done, instead of giving me such an inferior room. Staff told me a one bedroom was available, and I agreed. Little did I know what lie ahead, in contrast to my prior visits. First, I plugged in my 3 phones. After an hour I noticed my USA phone went down while charging instead of up. It seems in that room, you must use a plug plus a cord to chargeca phone. There one can't use the just insert place for a cord. Next, there was no tub to soak my tired legs in. I thought all rooms there had a tub and shower combination. I chose that hotel for it's short distance from the airport and because it had a BATHTUB. Then I tried the landline phone which had a red, supposedly charging it, but it was dead! I copied down the phone #, thinking I could simply call the full phone number from a cellphone in the am to ask about staying til 1pm, in the morning and a call about getting my luggage to the lobby. I also wanted to use the wakeup service but eventually figured I would probably wake up in time. In the morning I called the given number numerous times, but only got to a virtual assistant. One time Bonvoy members were mentioned, so I finally got to a human being. She checked for awhile and couldn't get through to the front desk. She worked on my no communication with the front desk and finally figured out that even though no option was given I could press zero at a certain time after dialing the full number to reach the main desk. I did, still no possibility to stay til 1pm, but I did get my luggage pick up scheduled. Next the coffee. Although plugged in, it did not work. I struggled to move the furniture and accomplished that. But then the cord plug did not stay in tight enough to allow the coffemaker to function. Finally, I wedged the wastebasket against the cord so the coffee maker would start. If the room telephone had worked I could have called the front desk for help. After I had my coffee, I was clearing up things when I noticed and killed a cockroach on top of my used coffee pack. That didn't make me feel very good as I had already spread out my clothes, thinking the Sheraton would be clean. Then I finally tried taking a shower, 3 times but NO hot water. I finally gave up. I had always had hot water at the Sheraton! Time for room 932 to be decommissioned!"
