"Bringing my kids to Lu Xun's former residence, we chose to stay on Cangqiao Old Street, with its charming bridges and flowing water. The hotel butler added me on WeChat beforehand and told me to set my taxi's destination to Wangjianglou, offering an electric buggy pickup which made getting around very convenient. The room was clean, tidy, and well-laid out, even equipped with a XiaoDu smart assistant. We had a great view of the old town from our window, and the hotel lobby offered an even better vista. The resident cat, 'Fugui,' was also adorable. The hotel is very close to Lu Xun's former residence, Shen Garden, and Fushan."

Shaoxing Xinyuan Hotel (Lü Xun's Hometown Cangqiao Straight Street Branch) ★★

"This place has an excellent location. There are tons of eateries right outside on the street, and it's not far from Lu Xun's former residence – just a short walk away. Is it plum rain season now? Everything feels so damp, even the duvet in the room was a bit humid. However, this room type is really quiet, living up to its name, and the landlady is incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic."

"The environment here is lovely, very green and lush. However, this hotel is just too dark at night. Staying in building 8, when we went out for a late-night snack and came back, there were hardly any lights outside, making it very dim. We checked in early that day and the room hadn't been cleaned yet, but the cleaning lady did an exceptionally thorough and clean job, which was really great! It's a shame the air conditioning was just too cold. My friend and I both got sick the next day. We called the front desk to adjust the temperature, but they said it's a central air conditioning system and you can only adjust the fan speed, not the actual temperature. Even setting it to 30 degrees for heating didn't help; it was practically useless."

"We booked a package deal through xc for 1200 CNY/night, which offered great value for money. The hotel's location in Shaoxing Tiandi is excellent, and the decor is modern with a well-designed green landscape. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary extra services like the black-awning boat ride and afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was not only visually appealing but also delicious and not too sweet, served in a lovely setting. In the evening, the bar even featured a Yuejun Nanci (Shaoxing Pinghu Tune) performance. Our room was quite spacious, simple, and cozy, and the coral fleece bathrobes were very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and proactively offered assistance. The breakfast spread offered a wide variety of fruits and other food options! Overall, the hotel was very comfortable and provided exceptional value for money."

First off, the location is fantastic – we could walk directly to Lu Xun's former residence and Heping Bridge. Secondly, the service was excellent; upon hearing there were three of us, they proactively offered an extra breakfast. When we checked out, they even gave us a souvenir.
